Trailer misrepresenting happens all the time.... I don't see anyone demanding money back? As a SW fan, you're really overthinking this, the movie premiere is not even here and all you guys have are speculations and so-called spoilers. JJ is known to like plot-twists. Who knows if the ending might surprise the hell out of us.
If you think TFA is not selling what you think it is, then you probably should not watch the movie. Leave the ticket to someone else. Don't torture yourself over it. No worries man. We're supposed to have fun breaking down spoilers and theories. Chill bro.

Hi and Welcome to the Cantina

If only TPM sold what I thought it was after viewing the trailers.

Thanks! I just have to get in with the hype!
Well TPM is not my fav too. I'm hoping JJ will at least redeem it in some ways. Based on the efforts he put in the sets, we can at least be assured of its quality. Story-wise fingers crossed.

Am I the only person in the world that believes Luke being at the end of the film is WONDERFUL!!

I will put money on it that the music alongside Rey walking up the steps on Skellig will be awesome and emotional, infact I wouldn't be surprised if it's that music from the Japanese trailer that cuts in straight after Kylo Ren speaks near the beginning of the trailer. Then when Luke is revealed will be one of the greatest, EMOTIONAL moments in Star Wars history.

Luke appearing to save the day would have ruined this film and would have been oh so predictable.

I think you didn't read all my posts or I didn't explain myself well.
I said that I would NEVER ask my money back, especially just because in the movie happens something that I don't like(as other people in this thread, NOT ME, want to do)
Then I said that the only reason I COULD understand someone who ask for his money back, is in the case not of a simple misrepresentation in the trailers (obvioulsy they have to make you watch the movie), but in the case (that is actually very rare) that the movie is sold for exemple like an action movie, or a comedy, when in reality they are not, that is the only reason I could understand it.
So I actually was on the same page as you are xD

think the image of Rey and Finn in the Snow is them leaving Han Solo's body behind as Kylo Ren has killed him and walks away during the huge battle. Upon their leaving of Solo Kylo Ren finds them without his helmet as Han may not have won the fight but seriously damaged Kylo Ren and his Vader inspired helmet (hence no...well,helmet) Finn tells Rey to stay back and tries to deal with the villanous Knight himself who gets injured maybe gets a Vader/Luke where the f**k has my hand gone?! kind of loss and Rey realises this is her destiny, she is the one. Has a brawl with Kylo Ren who eventually realises she is hard as nails and runs away to become "More ready" as the new trailer/teaser states.

She is not trained in the Force. Kylo is clearly quite skilled. That alone disqualifies Rey from being able to contend. An analogous suggestion would be that a street baller who can jump out of the gym would be able to jump into the NBA and be an All-Star.

You can have all the Force potential in the world. If you're not as trained as another user in a duel, you will pay for it. That was one of the great lessons of TESB. Luke's potential and growth in the Force was built up over the course of the film, capped off by Palpatine telling Vader, "He could destroy us." Then Luke went after Vader on Cloud City before he completed his training against Yoda's proclamation that only a fully trained Jedi could defeat Vader and Palpatine, and he paid a price for it. He wasn't able to build up a strong enough Force Wall, for example, to prevent Vader from hurling objects at him. By the time ROTJ rolled around, he could. (In addition to having quite a repetoire of other Force tricks up his sleave.)

Star Wars is, more than anything, a moral tale with fable-like plot elements carrying lessons for young people. To discredit a very important lesson from a film in the OT.

I'm sure that would be emotional. But, I think it would be just as emotional to have him come into the action in the last 3rd of the movie too. At a point when all hope is lost, when Kylo is about to strike a deathblow, a very distinguishable green lightsaber blade blocks him, and he shows us what 30 years of meditation, practice, and holocron knowledge can do. I would get very emotional seeing a Master Skywalker show us what he's been up to. If for only 10-15 minutes, before he leaves with Rey and Finn to begin their training. How interesting to see the naïve farmboy now a mature Jedi master who speaks with the wisdom of Yoda.

I will make this clear, once again. There will be no further discussion that what was intended with the original post. Here it is.

Refrain from continuing many of the old issues of this thread. Like I stated before, @Emperor Abrams, and @Dark Toilet, I am watching both of you and am very displeased with what I have seen after a warning. I will admit it is better than how it was before, but I request both of you to avoid this thread all together for a while so that it can recover and continue it's original purpose. Thanks.

It's absolutely hypocritical to claim I only want "fan service" by wanting to see Luke in the film when "fan service" is all Episode 7 seems to be (George Lucas even said as much). I guess it's "fan service" for everyone except people who were really excited to see Luke again.

It's also ridiculous to claim I'm a person who "just won't be pleased no matter what" when I've said over and over again that there's only 2 (TWO) things with this movie that would make me really unhappy: Luke in a two second cameo and no interaction between Luke, Han, and Leia. It's a waste of a once in a lifetime opportunity, and again, doesn't mean the film needs to be solely about that, this can just as easily be achieved with them in supporting roles with the new characters in the foreground, as it should be. I'm not asking for another Luke, Han, and Leia movie where they are the leads. If this is Luke's "expanded" part, it makes you wonder just how little he was in it before, as I can't imagine what is briefer than a two second voiceless cameo at the end. A picture, maybe? Maybe someone wrote Luke's name in the sand originally and that was it.....but I'm sure glad they graciously decided to expand the roles of the OT cast so Luke could have his cameo now. Yippee!

But no, just because I disagree with the group think at the height of the hype, I have to be vilified and demonized into a "guy who just won't like anything" because I'll like everything except for those 2 things I mentioned. They're the dealbreaker for me. I don't care if people think it's "pedantic" or not. Why is it wrong I should want to wait and see before spending money on something that may really bother me? Are there not things that someone could do to something you like that would really disappoint you? Well, this is what that is for me. If you honestly are okay with liking and accepting every single thing someone puts in front of you just because it's been stamped with "Star Wars", no matter what it is, you have to wonder just if any of it has any greater meaning or investment to you at all.... I would argue you can't really like something without being a little protective of it and there being certain things you consider sacrilege with it because they would contradict its value, at least to you...but that's just me.

But I'm just a "hater" apparently...

Everyone, this thread has gotten out of hand. I will not stand for this, and I am working to lock the thread. While @Emperor Abrams won't please a lot of people, do not attack who he is, rather, be a courteous poster and accept his opinion and MOVE ALONG. Debate, if you feel strongly about it, but don't exceed and break the rules. And again, do not attack another person!
