You're saying Amanaman is making assumptions that aren't supportable but in this you are wrong. The scene between Kylo and Rey clearly showed us that Kylo fears he will never bee as strong as Vader but the whole movie showed him doing things Vader could never ever dream of doing. The Emperor himself never did the kind of things he did and we are expected to believe that Kylo isn't even near Vader in power? I agree with Amanaman in that that really is bad writting. This is not something some people ''assume'' but something that was made crystal clear in the movie.

Vader is a half machine monster who must be very heavy and yet with one kick Luke knocked him off a ledge in their fight in Bespin while the incredibly ''less'' powerful Kylo Ren got hit square in the gut by this:

And he took it like a man and was able to fight to opponents without even limping.

it's about Kylo Ren's state of mind. just because he is a prodigy doesn't mean he has the maturity or the capacity to handle all that power. that's kind of the point.

Your own words ''quite common'' prove my point. This is Jakku we are talking about and not your home. There are no ships or speeders just laying around for Rey to practice in. There are no good souls there who are going to give that girl free piloting lessons when they have to SCAVENGE to be able to eat. Apart from Rey's speeder and the Quad Jummper (who had an owner) and the Falcon which belonged to Plutt, did you happen to see ships and speeders hanging around? Did anybody on all Jakku look like they were a friend to Rey or much less anybody who would risk their only means of transport in helping an orphan girl learn to pilot?

So on the Kylo being more powerful than Vader and Sheev you call me out that I'm exaggerating right? Well let's see what the movies showed us:

Vader (Sith Lord)-telekinesis, sword fight, could catch glimpse of others thoughts only if said person greatly let their guard down.

Palpatine (Sith Master)-telekinesis, sword fight, could catch glimpse of others thoughts only if said person greatly let their guard down, Force lightning.

Kylo Ren (Jedi Apprentice)-telekinesis, sword fight, could catch glimpse of others thoughts EVEN if said person was guarding their thoughts, could rip out the thoughts of others mind, could use the Force to paralize others, could freeze laser blasts in mid air with no need of concentration as he could hapily keep on talking while he did it, could use the Force to make others unconscious.

Luke hit Vader with his lightsaber ON HIS ARMORED SHOULDER and Vader screamed.

Chewie hit an UNARMORED Kylo with a crossbow that could send people flying and Kylo Ren took it like a man and he didn't even make a sound!

Now you tell me if I'm ''just assuming'' he's stronger than Vader of Sheev! The guy even took a lightsaber slash to the face for crying out loud and he took it like a man!

I think people are mistaking different powers for greater powers. Ren pulls out stasis and uses mind reading power but that doesn't mean more powerful. Sidious cast a cloud over the jedi interfering with there precognition and ability to commune with the force. Ren shot no lightening, blocked no blaster bolts against the palm of his hand, did not create a whirlwind of crates and other objects in the middle of a lightsabre fight.

Equating an energy blast hitting fabric (of unknown kind) and flesh of a man in his physical prime from a distance to a Force-assisted kick from one of Kylo's teachers to an old broken man is not a useful comparison.

Well, I think the biggest REAL issue with TFA, that it barely adds anything to the SW lore. Sure, now we have crossguard sabers, but thats not too much to say the least. We also have new X-wings and Tie-fighters! Again, great... Where are the new ship designs, the new planets and locations?
While R1 imo greatly expanded the SW universe and provided a fantastic prequel to ANH. It gave the necessary social-political angle, and showed us how reckless the rebels acutally are to reach their goals. That was something I really missed from the OT. The rebels were the one-sided good guys. Now its entirely different to me. We now have much better insight on who those guys actually are any why are they fighting. It also added to the characters of the OT (I think now we all know why the entire galaxy feared Darth Vader).

My second issue is the bland characters. I think the IDEAS behind the characters of TFA were all very good (the traitor stormtrooper, the girl left alone on a dumpster etc), but the execution to me is lacking. Finn acts like the typical humorous black sidekick, General Hux is bizarre and unconvincing (just compare him to Krennic), Rey is kind of... off. Some say because she is a "Mary Sue" (which I disagree with), but I rather think becasuse the lack of any real developement or arc in her character (yet). Things just happen around her (accidentally runs into Finn to leave the planet, accidentally bumps into Han, accidentally finds Luke's saber, gets captured etc) and she barely does anything by her own will. While in R1 every single character felt alive to me, like I can literally go into the SW universe and meet those characters. Sure, they are not very original type of characters, but the execution was outstanding imo.

My third issue is the toned down, chlidish (and not very clever) script. Two guys and a wookie manage to sneak up to the superweapon of the FO which has a shield that can be shut down by one officer in a random room... Then like 10 X-wings (and only x-wings) come and destory the whole stuff... Please give me break. Sure, TFA was much more humorus than R1, but was it really worth it? Why does Finn act like an american teenager? Why can the desctrution of the Hosnian system be seen from the other side of the galaxy in real time? And btw the destruction of Hosian system. Imo it came out of nothing and left very little impact, because the lack of context (social, political or anything at all). And when TFA wasnt humorous, it was way too dark... Did we really have to see a father beeing killed by his own son in a SW movie? Was it really necessary to write it this way? This is really subjective I know, but I dont like it. If they are trying out serious themes like this, than dont tone down the other parts with dialogues like "Droid please!" This duality is really jarring to me.
While I think that R1 was well written. They are minor inconsistencies between ANH and R1, but nothing really jarring.

So long story short, I think that R1 is an all round better made film. It's more daring, written and presented better overall. Sure, it has the luxury of beeing self-contained, rather than beeing part of a trilogy (thus it feels more complete), but at least it dosent hinge purely on nostalgia (which is basically the essence of TFA).
    What is your opinion?

TFA will earn his stripes at the end of this trilogy as a masterpiece.

This is the story of the redemption of Anakin Skywalker.

    And this is f******* awesome.

This is all so knit picky just for the sake of it. If you hyper analyze life to this degree that doesn't make sense either. The only thing incoherent is the incessant need to find fault where it doesn't exist unless you desperately want it to be there. If you find my points incoherent I suggest you find a nice program to improve your reading comprehension and work on your critical thinking skills.

    1) How is Jakku "lawless?" Looks like Unkar Plutt is making "laws"? Is there only one degree of "lawlessness" or is it an endless spectrum based on an infinite number of variables? Are our inner cities "lawless"? Even pirates have/had a "code". Go based on the evidence here, if people aren't getting jacked every ten seconds there is some degree of "law" whether official or not. Rey is cleaning her scavenged parts in plain sight, she wouldn't do this if there isn't some order. Why are gonk droids roaming freely if droids are in constant danger? Just another "plot hole" I suppose (rolls eyes). Did Teedo try to take BB-8 because no one else was watching? What basis does Rey have to stop Teedo...really...I need to get this specific and explain it to you??!! Ok, here are some possibilities: she felt it was the right thing to do, Rey refers to BB-8 as a person so clearly she values AI as life comparable to organic life while others don't share that view (think of the bartender in the cantina scene saying we don't serve there "kind" here and don't forget the term kind is scientific for organizing life), because there is a specific law which was not elaborated on in the movie that forbids this activity even if application there of is patchy to non-existent...but I could go on and on. Again, you are trying to use missing information to prove there is a mistake. And yes, she stole the falcon...in the attempt to save her own life...so what? Would she have done that if the FO weren't in active pursuit and her life was safe? If she rescued a slave and stole the ship would you view it the same way? Are people always consistent in their morals or are people often hypocrites? Where are there Jawas in Jakku...I didn't see any??? If you are looking for your friend or transport to somewhere else which location would you go: the desert where there is no intelligent life or tech, or a dangerous inner city? I already explained why what Rey did made sense, why can't you pay attention? She respects BB-8 as a "person" but felt her good deed was done and she didn't owe him any other favors until he sweet talked her. Sending him to town made sense on every possible level because sending him into a lifeless desert, the other option, would do him what benefit exactly? And did she send him into town, or simply tell him where it was? Did he ask he where it was? And really...Jakku is worse than Tatooine??!! Where are the Jawas? Where are the Tuskan Raiders? Where are the bounty hunters? Did you find Unkar Plutt to be worse than Jabba (speaking of whom why did he offer Rey portions when he could just stolen the droid in the so called state of lawlessness?)? What did Obi Wan describe Mos Eaisly as?

    2) Did you see any jacket on Jakku simular to Poe's? Jakku is very isolated, a jacket like that stands out because no one else had one. How is what Han, Lando, and Greedo were wearing relevant? Were they on Jakku? Why didn't Rey say "Are you sure, I see that jacket everywhere"? I know, I know, another plot hole. What's wrong with this movie? (rolls eyes again) I admit, Rey's action was rash. So what?? People don't make rash decisions in the heat of the moment?? Really, trade a "common" jacket for ...transport?? I guess next time I'm short on cab fair I'll part with my hoodie. I'm glad you weren't writing this movie ;). Why didn't Finn trade his jacket at Maz's for transport...I know another plot hole. And wouldn't YOU expect the jacket to be stolen with all of this "lawlessness" going around? Why would anyone adhere to a trade when they could just take it and not part with anything else? Sounds like a plot hole in your plot holes...

    3) Are Kylo Ren and Vader the same person? If not, why would you expect them to make the same choices? Everyone handles similar situations exactly the same?? Really, Vader never made stupid choices that endangered his mission? How do you suppose he lost ALL of his limbs???!!!

Ok, I have to stop...I feel like I'm losing brain cells every time I have to respond to one of your silly statements.

The problem here is pretty simple: what is one man's trash is another man's treasure. I can poke holes in these so called "plot holes" all day long, and whoever wants to believe they exist will simply find another one.

Well, the other problem is people who have a severe lack of critical thinking skills are trying to criticize things they don't understand, and strongly asserting their ignorance in the process. Sure, you could try to say the same about me, but what does the evidence show? Won't stop some from ignoring it. Unfortunetly this is a common trend in general. I work in retail, I see it all the time; being yelled at for things that are out of my control or simply impossible and trying to explain that to people who have never worked my job and insist that their assumption outweighs my 11 years of experience or physical reality.

And trying to explain the difference between the complaint bout the PT versus TFA feels like a whole nother can of worms. To put it shortly, there are many things to pick on TFA about...but these are not it. When I criticize the PT, it is usually broad categories like dialog and acting and odd directorial choices like a real head on a cgi trooper body that distracts from suspending your disbelief. It's not a matter of trying to pick apart every single thing in every single scene like the "review" video attempted to do and failed miserably. So why did Jango go back to Kimino? Surely he knew that someone could identify his saber dart as Kiminoan and track him back there. That makes no sense...must be a plot hole (rolls eyes). No, people who bash the prequels point out that Natalie Portman was almost ran out hollywood for her horrendous performances or that Lucas himself said the story wasn't important...and it showed.

The PT failed in key fundamental film making categories like acting, dialog, and continuity. TFA's main issue is it tried to play things too safe, and for every issue it corrected from the prequels it made a new one.

You silly thing. Anakin was already redeemed in Episode VI. That's why he has a light side force ghost in the Ewok celebration scene.

But what effect will it have on Kylo when he learns the truth? And does Anakin's legacy play any other role we are currently unaware of? Anakin's redemption can surely effect story outcomes even if it has already occured, not silly at all.

Kylo Ren is not in communication with either Darth Vader or Anakin Skywalker. Kylo Ren is under the influence of his master Snoke's lies and deceit.

May I point out I watched the entire review and spoke on this earlier but here are my current thoughts.

Unlike how I thought previously and initially, TFA is a good SOLID Star Wars film. The whole 'worst movie of all time' is an exaggeration. He intentionally did it to bring emotion from all the people on youtube viewing his video. He in essence LOVES Star Wars so much, its his hope that his complaints will reach Disney.

And they likely wil considering the video has almost half a million views. Regardless, theres alot of what I did not agree with in this review. We must take the movie in context.

Did it contribute to Star Wars lore? Yes.

    Was there enjoyable sequences? Yes.

    On the flip side:

    Was there inconsistencies? Yes.

So, taking everything together I think its a solid movie, it stands rightfully with all the other SW films. There is the awesome to it, then the not so awesome. But I also say Disney is on a learning curve with Star Wars. I also say alot will be learned in the next movie.

So... in summary.. I enjoy Episode 7. I also think the video poster did enjoy some of Episode 7 too. But the means he chose to get his message out was by publicizing his video and choosing the "worst of all time" so his end could be reached, getting enough internet buzz and steam to reach the ears of Disney, and they do pay attention

Keep in mind this review has almost a HALF million views (going towards 400,000 atm) and responses. By ubsurdity, it forces a more powerful reaction. It's all about how far you are willing to go, and he was willing to call it the WORST to reach the ears of Disney. It's glaring untrue, but he is using the dark side of the force to get what he wants. Thats the power of the dark side,
    (emperor)

JJ responded to the ANH parallel and Ridley to the Mary Sue thing which shows they do monitor what the fan base thinks.

So??!! To our knowlege Kylo has never been in contact with Vader yet his identity is shaped by what he believes about him. So when Kylo learns the truth, assuming he does, like if Luke tells him, how will that effect him?

You are trying to debunk my points just with your own opinion and nothing more. You try to make things look as you see them but that was not what we have been shown.

    1-How is Jakku Lawless?
    2016-12-31 07_32_25-Capture.png
    Lucasfilm said it not me.

2-Did I see any jacket on Jakku simular to Poe's? Now this is funny! Did BB-8 see one? Did you just forget that BB-8 had been on the planet just one single day? What did he do? Scan the whole planet in that short time to be sure that NOBODY else had the same jacket? So you had your jacket stolen, so you would go take a plane, go to Japan, go out to the very first guy you met at the only city you visited and pick a fight with him because he has your jacket and nobody else has been wearing one that looks like that? This is the kind of logic you spout after trying to look so intellectual? Did you even bother to watch the movie? If you were as smart as you claim to be you would know that there wasn't even a reason why BB-8 should even think that this was Poe's jacket as he had already seen Kylo Ren take Poe off planet. What? Was I supposed to think that BB-8 once again scanned who whole planet and knew that Poe had found his way back to Jakku? It makes me wonder who really is the one who's losing brain cells every time he has to respond to a silly statement.

3-Are Kylo Ren and Vader the same person? Does eveyone handle similar situations exactly the same way? Were you even paying attention to what I was saying? What in the world does this have to do with my statements that were crystal clear about the difference in power of the two characters? There's no hint of logic on your words here.

I hate to come down like a jerk for descending to your level and going on the offensive but it garbage like ''Well, the other problem is people who have a severe lack of critical thinking skills are trying to criticize things they don't understand, and strongly asserting their ignorance in the process.'' that makes me loose my cool. Maybe you should try to be the less ignorant one next time and try to prove you points without attacking the fellow poster. You try to come out as wise and intellectual with all your blah blah blah but it all falls to the ground when you try to attack me personally just to try to give weight to your words.

Wow you are a ridiculous person...lol! But this doesn't suprise me, I've dealt with you before. You argue in circles, sticking with points that make no sense. I know exactly what I was saying everytime I made a statment, do you?

    1) So how does Zuvio keep the "law" in a place that is lawless? It can't be lawless if he is keeping the law. But like I already tried to explain there is a infinite spectrem of lawlessness, its not just one or the other. Are you really siting a source that you claim has made an incredible number of ridiculous logisitcal mistakes in their own movie??!! How is Lucas film a credible source given what you beleive about TFA?? But Zuvio helps to prove my point. I wasn't going to bring him up since he wasn't in he movie.

    2) You are so desperate to grasp to these points its comical...and a little sad...too bad you aren't better at this. It was Poe's jacket, no one else had one...get over it. Possibly a rash desicion in the heat of the moment. But it is also proximity. The town is not far from where BB-8 last saw Poe. And I'd have to go back and watch...did BB-8 see Kylo leave with Poe? Even if he did is irrelevant. Why, because Poe could have escaped from Kylo...BECAUSE HE DID!...lol. And why wouldn't Poe come back looking for BB-8...and maybe he didn't make it as far as he want and got jacked for his jacket on the lawless planet. You make my head hurt.

3)You were trying to say Kylo wouldn't do something because Vader didn't do it...even though he did! You don't understand any of your own arguments. I stand behind what I said. Read it a few more times...maybe something will gel...but I won't hold my breath.

Again dude, this is a comprehension issue on your part, and unless you come up with a new point I won't continue this...it would be pointless.

What I said wasn't meant to be offensive...and it really wasn't. You continue to argue things, knit pick things you don't understand...telling a group of experienced filmakers and story writers that you know better than they do...even though your arguments fall flat or simply don't make any sense...and you just won't let them go...but that's what you do. How is that ignorant? Do you need a dictionary? But go back and reread that statement.

I can't really say much more than I already have.

You are really rude and insulting man. The guy has been debating with you and you have been downright foul. I would see no point in entering debates with people like you who have to try to offend others to try to get their points through. Why the moderators haven't done anything about your foul attitude is anyones guess.

It wasn't the worst film ever but seriously, they could have tried not to remake the original. Sometimes you can play things to safe. And that's what happened. It was a pretty watchable film though. the worst moment was the 3rd death star. I thought to myself are you f-ing kidding me j.j.

To say The Force Awakens was the "worst movie of all times" is such a laughably false statement, I'm not sure why it is even a debatable issue here. If one was to argue "TFA is the worst of the 8 Star Wars films" he/she may have a point, but there have been far worse movies made over the last 100 years or so...
