The Force Awakens - "The Worst Movie Of All Time" (Video Review)

For me tfa wasn't what i expected (wanted) to be and i still love it ; i was expecting something of the magnitude of revenge of the sith : huge scale space batles, many epic lightsaber duels , a better script and acting and on top of all that our beloved trio from ot : luke ,han,leia;
was far from it , but the fact that ppl are theorising around tlj instead of complaining about jar jar and trade federation, means they did something good after all ;
these beeing said, they have my thumb up and no excuses for the next 2 movies , they have to be perfect

 

I'm not sure how many mods and staff members have to say this, or how many different ways they have to word it before the point actually gets across...

That didn't seem all that negative. Lots of jokes and things he wanted but I really didn't get the feeling he was crapping on the films. Even at the end he separates money from quality but doesn't suggest TFA should be hated.

I saw this back in June, it's not new to me. 3 things.
First, anyone who has seen Ghostbusters can't help but let the chuckles flow at the premise of the title.. it is pointless to resist.
Second, multiply the dislikes by ten. Seriously. You have to go out of your way on YT to find these videos, and most Star Wars fans have probably never seen them. Plinkett will pop up in the typical fans TL, but not these guys. I see them because a 'good friend' of mine encouraged me to hear these guys out.. so YT's brain gonkulates that I want to see this poodoo. So this thing appeared in my TL when it was uploaded back in June of last year.
Third. Yeah, there's more factual inaccuracies in his logic than there are times Anakin Skywalker says "Master," but the bigger picture remains that this guy-like the rest of his ilk- wants you to believe that this is both a copy/paste of ANH and the worst movie ever. Like your WiFi password, that's something to meditate on.
I will be fair, though. This guy does what Nicky Spagno would not: he tries to make the case for why the prequels are better. And in doing so he let's us see Star Wars through the eyes of a Lucas Loyalist. And in listening to his zeitgeist on star wars I understood there is a major irreconcilable difference between him and I.
And that difference is authenticity. What makes a Star Wars film authentic? Is it one man's vision? Or is it a collaborative vision. By embelishing Lucas and trying to demure Abrams, he shows where he stands.
I stand on different ground..

 

Only thing that i think it can hold water is Poe disapearing and reapearing at the resistance base ,other than that :
- Finn not telling his true intensions : he wants to tell in the milenium falcon but get interupted by the poisonous gas leak, then he tells to bb8 , then he tells to Rey ;
- Han Solo taking a detour to Maz's planet instead to take the droid directly to the resistance - he explains it to Rey ( i think) , that the falcon was not clean, if he and chewie can find it, the Fo can too;
- Maz not wanting to help the resistance, sayn' no to Han - it was obvious that her intention was to make Han get involved again in the fight against the Fo - it's really no brainer..
- Kylo taking his helmet off during interogation of Rey -- it was a dare , he just have too much hate towards the movie to see it .

 

If the FO can track the Falcon...they just led them straight to Luke!

I've been trying to articulate this for months since all these you tubers started this onslaught; well said my friend, couldn't have said it better.

I can't recall her name, but she is on Screen Junkies and her video really pissed me off... you call yourself a Star Wars fan, why bother? Click Bait? And she was at Star Wars Celebration too, how ironic. i'm happy she lost the Star Wars Schmoedown at celebration ( it showed how much she REALLY knows about Star Wars ); she shouldn't have been on the panel at all. The last one I saw was Chris Stuckmann's RO & TPMENACING analyzed review.... unsubscribed.

Don't get me wrong, everyone is entitled to review and analyze, but films are SUBJECTIVE. I'm not gonna waste my time, so you can try to change my mind about something I like.... I'm gonna waste my time doing things I like.

What a disgusting comment. Jenny is a lovely person and the fact that she came in last in a trivia quiz doesn't mean she doesn't or can't love Star Wars as much as you do. Her love of Star Wars has resulted in interesting video's and thought which are interesting, entertaining and highly unique. Something I can't really say about many of you lot.

It would be acceptable if the guy who made the video had some work to show so we can compare his work with other people works.

Bashing other people work when you're not even able to take a selfie is just pure jealousy, lazy thinking and arrogance

It's like those fans who're rooting for a franchise or a soccer club yelling at athletes while they're not able to make a 10 yards dash without having a heart attack.

 

Wouldn't that line of thinking also negate any praise that the movie gets from anyone who's never made a movie? Doesn't that make everyone's opinions completely invalid unless they are a movie maker?

Who's the guy on the video ? What did he bring to the table ? Put your own work on the table, show me what you do and maybe I can be harsh too.

 

Well, he does have other videos on his channel. You're welcome to watch them.. no one else did.
That's a common theme with guys like Ponstory, Spargo, Nedalien17.. the mob shows up for that one video..

What can I say... I rewatched a couple of minutes of this "video" (since I've had the misfortune to sit through a short part of it a few months ago) and yet again I've come to the conclusion that it pretty much embodies what's the problem with some of the internet people. Cynic, hyperbolic, infantile fools with way too much free time. There is a difference between criticism and senseless, reasonless bashing.

Also, the video itself is very poorly made. Low quality audio, subpar editing, terrible video quality (since the idiot used a cam version of the movie) all that mixed with little to no real arguments and a terrible sense of humour (srsly, fart jokes in 2016?!). Watching it feels like a deep sniff of hippo excrement fermented in Rosie O'Donnell's private parts for 8 weeks. I very rarely use the dislike button on youtube, but I've made an exception this time. A new low for "movie criticism", well done.

 

I'm not really a youtube man especially to see people whining.

Everybody can criticize other people work, everyone can do that especially in times when people love to complain for everything.

There are many movies I didn't like but I never tried to convince people who liked it that it was terrible.

 

Sorry for belaboring, but by your own logic, any critique leveled at a published video review is invalid unless the critic is also a published reviewer of some sort: The critic is the audience and should stay in his seat and not let his opinion known. Sounds unreasonable.
AND whoever that person is that made that mean video about TFA, good or bad, they put work into it. And so they HAVE shown something that they've done.
It's ok to look at things from different angles. Some people don't like TFA. Some people hate it. Some people love it. That guy's opinion is just as valid (or invalid) as everyone else's.

 

Will he apologize if it turns out to be an amazing story ? Maybe that guy is just clueless and absolutely didn't get what was onscreen ? Did he ever consider that outcome ? Nope. He didn't. Dude thinks he's clever ( AHAH ).

It's funny how so called fans think they are always right.

I had a discussion with a clown lately and he was convinced that the first line of the movie was about the prequels and he was happy because as a "die hard" fan he didn"t like the prequels, TFA, the ewoks, Rebels even with George Lucas or a 10 years old kid !!!

And he really thought JJ Abrams was talking to him with the line : This will begin to make things right and he absolutely didn't see every prequel reference in TFA.

People are hating on everything, everytime, they're sad people and they're only demanding with other people ...

I have a real problem with whining haters about everything. I do confess that.

 

I agree. I don't like all the hate out there either. It leads to suffering.
It's ok to dislike something, and talk about what you dislike. But becoming a hate spewer, hate for the sake of hate, can become unbecoming.

 

I think you're stretching validity. If the argument is factual, yes. But this 'critque' does not take into account the complete facts of the movie. Rather, we see an hour long demonstration in 'selective amnesia'.
I do think some of his critique is valid, especially when he drops the facade and let's his butthurt go fukushima: "I'll take good storytelling and bluescreen any day over your real settings and blah blah blah"
Again, factually questionable though. In the 6 films of George Lucas, that only really occurred once:
