The full trailer. When and where?

Again it will be D23....... I bet all my credits on it!

 

I'm thinking force friday. They don't need to attach this thing to movies anymore. We live in the age of the internet people! If it is amazing, this will spread worldwide via youtube, twitter, etc. The thing is, one week after it is released, we will be rooting for another trailer and giving disney lessons about merchandising and stuff...

 

I still contend they don't REALLY need a trailer. Star Wars and the new trio + BB8 will be on every Coke can, every Doritos bag, every McDonald's Happy Meal, every backpack, every Walmart endcap from New York to Sydney and back beginning in about a month. Awareness of the new film is NOT going to be an issue. There are also games, social media, and talk shows. I'm not saying there won't be a full trailer, obviously. I'm just saying it's not a big deal for a film like Star Wars. It's mainly to appease the uberfans and give the little kids some cool ships and explosions to get excited (annoy their parents) about. I'm just saying Abrams and Disney have no need to push a new trailer anytime soon. When they do, it can be EPIC.

Everybody and their grandmother is going to see this movie. It's opening on the perfect day, the Friday before the week of Christmas, which is a vacation week for 90% of the civilized world.

I'd like to think we all learned something after SDCC, and that is to expect a trailer later rather than sooner, to put it concisely (and vaguely)

My money is on sometime in September.

 

well if they said around fall then yes its definitely disney23 but if they only said fall then its september.

Saw this on Tf.net, someone found an interaction between cinelinx and jedinews

The editor-in-chief @ cinelinx made a comment about the unlikelihood of a D23 trailer. Then someone from Jedinews commented about an end of October release date for the trailer and the cinelinx guy said that "October" has been bandied around as the likely month.




makes sense considering JJ's "fall" comment i guess.

 

Yep it's possible but I have placed my bet in the casino cantina that is not I know it sounds like lack of faith but I feel there is other events that should host it, on 14th-16th Aug we'll see.

 

D23, and hopefully a 3 minute trailer still only hinting the plot. Then, it will be total black out for me till the film is released!!!

It seems like the wind is blowing towards an early October trailer. I'm fine with that, because I don't want to be bombarded with trailer after trailer. I Just wonder if there is any precedent for a blockbuster movie of this size to release a first full trailer only 3 months before the movie comes out. It's a really ballsy move by the marketing team if so. At D23 I think that the people in attendence will get to see a short clip from the movie and that some character photos will be released online. I'm not expecting too much.

just want to say that. everybody speculating about a new teaser. But what about the oficial poster ???

 

I don't need another trailer, I think I saw enough with the 2 trailers released so far. But I'm very excited for the poster, I think its taking to long to release it.

 

Here's a new trailer, just released yesterday.

 

I honestly would be fine if they didn't release a new trailer. I just saw Ant-Man last week and they played teaser #2 and honestly that teaser is enough. It shows enough. I don't think they need to show anymore. Regardless of what I think we still are getting a full blown trailer some time next month.

 

There has been a lot of talk about D23 being the event, don't forget we are back in Anaheim were the second one was released, I feel like JJ is being hounded like this.
