The full trailer. When and where?

This is interesting because in the days following the second teaser release, Disney stock shot way way up. If Disney needs a shot in the arm when it comes to the market, that trailers coming out. JJ and the marketing team can try and keep it from us for as long as they want, but at the end of the day Disney has the final word.

 

No trailer would be great for fans who decided to see the movie 3 years ago, but not great for everyone else, some of whom don't even know a new star wars movie is coming. You don't sell a massive blockbuster movie by word of mouth or even the star wars name alone. People won't see a movie they know nothing about.

 

Entertainment Weekly confirms no new footage at D23 per JJ.

He again said the trailer will be out in the fall. I'm starting to think not until October.

 

I dunno, wouldn't October be too late for a first trailer? Force Friday would make the most sense, then MAYBE a final trailer right before release?
All I can say is, if they don't release a poster soon, it will not only piss me off, but it would also be a fatal marketing flaw.

We'll get the poster at either D23 or Force Friday. That seems like a lock.

Force Friday is Sept 4th. Why would JJ keep saying the trailer will be out in the Fall if it's really coming out in less than a month?

Guys Fall means Fall. As in after September 21st on the calender. He's said it twice now and I dont get the impresion hes being cheeky. I'm thinking October, right around 2 months before the movie is out.

 

I feel like it is going to be just before force friday. Maybe even trailer tuesday or something. haha.

Isn't a trailer being out 2 months before a release basically unheard of for a blockbuster? Can anyone name a major release where the big trailer has dropped so close to the release? Seems almost nonsensical. I would be VERY surprised if it didn't come on or around force friday. People colloquially call September "fall". No one hears the word Summer and thinks September. Haha.

I think you need to throw conventional wisdom out the window with TFA. JJ and company are clearly trying to keep the lid on the mystery box as long as possible. They aren't following a template. They're gonna drop the trailer in October and then the marking blitz will hit hyperspeed.

As far as i know,yes, it is unheard of with a big Blockbuster like Star Wars .. Unless it is the 2nd Full Trailer ofcourse, but in this case it isn't..

 

Force Friday on 04/09/15 seems to be popular possibility.

 

So I was watching this video ( http://nerdist.com/nerdist-news-kylo-ren-details-star-wars-the-force-awakens/ ) and... in the first few seconds the annoying woman says that a trailer is coming next month (September). Is there something I've missed, and mentions the toy release thing as next week. HUH?

 

What about to create a thread about the third trailer after it is released?

 

Sure, in fact, why not create a forum for the film unil after its released... on blu-ray and dvd.

i thought i read somewhere that JJ said we'd have to wait until October? can't remember the source, but pretty sure it's not coming out in September.

 

I wouldn't plan on it for september, but my VFX friend has seen the new trailer. So...... maybe??? It's not launching on TV in my marketing guy's region or at least not according to the last list of spots that he told me about. He's said October before the TV campaigns launch.
