    Glorious.

I need a gif of Rey dropping the lightsaber to her other hand and slicing that guard's legs off. Simply awesome.

The Last Jedi took me on an unexpected journey of twists and turns, edge of your seat tension, and tears.
It was emotional. It was fun. It was exciting.

My enjoyment was probably helped by the fact that I didn't have any set preconceived idea of post ROTJ Luke.

And I feel sorry for people who did. What did you want Luke to be? Kick ass? A bad ass? Jesus?
A boring self righteous monk ass? What?

In TLJ he tossed away his lightsaber just as he did in ROTJ. He was complicated. He wasn't a He-Man. He wasn't Chuck Norris.

The thing I'm most worried about from this ridiculous backlash from a handful of very vocal Luke loving nerds is that they'll make the next one very safe and very boring,

    Anyway 9/10 from me.

    Cheers Rian!

Unfortunately “safe and boring” are JJ’s middle names.

Difference and still making sense was why i loved TLJ.

Am I weird to think that Rey and Kylo teaming up was kind of like their love scene. There was so much red (color of love) and their movement was so well choreographed.

Rey’s battle scream in this context is...intriguing.

And Kylo ignites the saber onto that guards face in the climax...

I've mentioned it in several other places on here, but......that final scene just gets me every time. Just captures how I felt as a 12 yr old kid in 1977 after seeing the first un-numbered, un-named movie, just Star Wars. Incredible. RJ had many "little" scenes that captured certain emotions - it was that last one that got me.

So true... the R2-D2 throwback is also a perfect moment in the film.

I could have watched Luke talk to R2 for 20 minutes straight. The chemistry between Hamill and that little droid is crazy.

@techsteveo Yes, absolutely. I am tearing up just thinking about what they have been through together. Another incredible moment = R2 playing Leia's original hologram....by the way that scene was extremely cool in 1977, remember being blown away by it then...

It was an amazing scene, especially when the saber went thru that guard's forehead, LOL. That was GRUESOME for Disney.

It goes to show the chemistry between Rey and Kylo and how DANGEROUS they are together, despite their ideological differences. Imagine if Rey had joined Kylo in commanding the First Order. I'm Not Sure if the galaxy would ever be safe again

The acting was without a doubt far better than TFA, possibly the best of all the SW movies- especially the Kylo/Rey scenes. When their fingers touched for the first time, I held my breath. But then two seconds later I was smiling when Luke busted in on them like two guilty teenagers smooching down in the family room... And then two seconds after that he literally blew the house apart and I held my breath again, so. yeah.... very fine acting.
I liked this, too. And the very poignant, subtle scene where Leia looks down and sadly sees the ship icons turn red as each one is annihilated. You're right, she's not allowed to grieve. It makes me sad to think we actually will never see her happy, or even at peace, given all she's been through.
Oh gosh, I missed her saying that even after seeing it twice. It certainly suggests she sees him as more than Kylo Ren.

Yes, that's their "straw man" argument and I noticed it, too. It's a feel-good justification for them not telling us Rey's backstory. I don't think they're lazy, they are just running out of time and in the end it doesn't matter, but it does shortchange her character quit a bit, unfortunately.

The ReyBen vs Praetorian Guards scene, right now, is top of my Star Wars favourite scene list! It’s a visual...no, a sensory masterpiece. And the excitement of thinking Ben has returned to discovering he has more gone than ever - well, it puts us in Rey’s shoes.

The kills in this fight were so brutal. Rey cut on of the Praetorian's knees and then cut his throat. Kylo's lightsabre got stuck in the neck of a praetorian. I love it when the praetorian exchanges the staf by disconnecting it into two knives. He taunts Rey and Rey returns the favour. Her battle cry is so awesome!

Edit: do we really need a "those who loved TLJ thread".

Seriously, I do want to re-enact that fight with a guy dressed up as Ben and Praetorian Guards next time I'm on a saberwalk lol. I LOVED IT. A lot of people in the second screening was clapping when they started fighting the guards.

I want to know the vision she sees for the future of Ben.

I just thought she saw what Snoke wanted her to see to get her to his ship.
At least that's how I interpreted it.
