Third viewing, and now I am totally in love with this movie, which is a far cry from where I was after the first viewing - largely due to reading all these little things to help understand the connective tissue of TLJ. Here are some new ones I noticed this time around:
    • In his second lesson, Luke tells Rey "I thought I could train him [Ben], I could pass on my strengths." which foreshadows Yoda's chastising of him for not doing what he asked previously ("pass on what you have learned" - both strengths AND weaknesses)
    • When showing all of the "mirrored" versions of Rey in the dark side cave, all of the duplicates really are mirror images of Rey - her small facial scar is on the opposite cheek
    • all the "little details" in Snoke's face as a CGI character shown in super close detail - very impressive when paying attention to it. I particularly noticed a piece of his jaw moving as he talked in the scarred half of his face. So well done.
    • During the first shot of the Rey/Kylo fight scene, Snoke's throne is dead center of the shot (between Rey and Kylo standing back to back), and a clear view of Snoke's lower half can be seen through gaps in the action consistently. The spacing of the action was definitely planned around showing him in the background
    • there is a very clear "start" to the burning of the red drapes in Snoke's throne room. I don't remember exactly, but Rey throws something past one of the guards, and it slowly catches the red background on fire in the shot, exposing that the indistinct red background is actually a curtain, revealing space beyond.
    • When Hux has his freak out moment upon seeing dead Snoke, just as he says "the supreme leader is dead" the floor under Snoke lights up and fizzles (like a electrical burst from the carnage), which illuminates his torso and face to punctuate Hux's statement
    • This is more of a nitpick than a little detail - the only way in or out of the Crait base is through the big door...except for the trenches, which apparently have some kind of entrance since that is how Poe and the remaining soldiers gets back in when retreating
    • Luke's last line to Kylo, "See ya around, kid," is a quote from Han Solo, in order to drive home his earlier statement "Strike me down in anger and I'll always be with you. Just like your father."

    Such good stuff.

Yeah, that was great. :) I think she threw the guard's whip, which was wrapped around her lightsaber.

The meeting of Poe and Rey was one hell of a charming character moment.

You know, character moments? Those things we hardly ever seen in films anymore? Those things we need more of?

I'm not making any romantic implications for the two characters, I'm just saying it was a very nice moment. Hit me in the feels.

I didn't noticed this when watching, I just realized after seeing this gif that Snoke didn't hit Kylo directly with the lighting - it was a rebound. :D

This movie is a truly masterpiece. I just left the cinema an hour ago and I am stil thinkinf of it. It was my fourth time. I could seen some details that I missed at the previously viewings and also enjoy more the movie visual's.

☆ The dreadnought bridge is so beatifull. All that red light made me think about The Hunt of the Red October poster. (I saw this movie probably 20 years ago. I dont even remind how the movie is. Thats weird). Also I loved that commander of the Dreadnought - I dont know his name.

☆ All the scenes of Snoke in his throne room are amazing and beatifully shot. All that I read about Snoke was that he is 100% CGI, but his robe, sandals, ring look so real.

☆ Rey and Luke in the island is superb, so many beautiful shots. I finally noticed that Luke uses the force when he fells during his "confrontation" with Rey.

☆ I saw Rey closing the drawer, where she puts the books, this time.

☆ Noticed that Nien Nunb survived. We can see him talking with Finn at the end. Also Chewie hugs C3P0, that was so cool.

I'm still amazed at how this movie affected me. Thanks RJ.

The Force catch is a really cool subtle use of the Force, that shows his mastery. A few have said that is the first time he uses the force since he “turned himself off” from it, but I noticed this viewing that just before the confrontation, when he sees Rey & Kylo touching, he blows apart the hut, which would have been he first actual use (I wonder how the Caretakers liked THAT one).

When is this? I’ve missed this every time.

EDIT: IIRC the first time Luke opens himself back up to the Force is to contact/wake up Leia.

Rey puts the books in the drawer compartment in the Falcon before she mails herself to Ben in the escape pod. Then we see them later when Finn takes a blanket out of the same compartment to put over Rose at the end.

I've heard people say they saw Rey put the books in her satchel on the island, but I haven't seen that yet.

Plus, when she introduces herself and Poe answers "I know", it also shows to her that she is not nobody. By saying "I know who you are", Poe once again confirmed what she had to learn the hard way. She is somebody just by being Rey.

I think Poe just inspires random dances. And I think it's just unedited makeup for lighting purposes but yest it could *technically* be rouge

I think it was an injury from his little adventure with Finn from the film's beginning. At least that's how I've always read it.
