TLJ Little Details

The way Snoke says: "come closer child'. Andy Serkis rocked this Snoke fellow!

I remember thinking to myself 'Gosh, this guy is such a dick. I don't care who he is, somebody please kill him already!!!"

Ben did....oh did Ben kill that prick.

 

I wonder if Snoke's hot toys figure will have a snap-in-half button.

 

Love this thread! Opposed to reading some others, this fills me with optimism There is so many of these little bits of fun and joy in the film, which is one of the reasons I have already seen it three times and will love to do it many more times just to enjoy them and find more. Here are some I can remember, in no particular order:

Luke's X-Wing under the water.

BB-8 jingling slightly when rolling after being filled by the little guy played by Mark Hamill.

Rose loving the Fathiers and Finn yelling "Stop enjoying this!"

The shot of Paige's eye after the explosion.

The fact that it's BB-8 who says "I've got a bad feeling about this".

The little and big hints that Luke is just a projection (younger visage, the broken lightsaber, no footprints ..) and the fact that I didn't realise on the first viewing.

How Luke lights up and smiles a bit when he finds R2 and that the droid uses Leia's old message to persuade him.

I may add more if a I have time..

 

Oh, absolutely! In The Last Jedi it was obvious that Andy was having fun while playing Snoke. It was a delight to watch him act a character that is just so evil.

 

The portable heaters/light sources they were using on the Raddus as they were trying to conserve fuel and fuel up the transports. You see them in the hallway as you follow a character into the secondary bridge.

 

When Finn is prepared to sacrifice himself to stop the FO's cannon, the music playing reminded me a lot of the Order 66 music that plays during the montage where all the Jedi are being killed in ROTS.

 

Stuff I remembered/noticed during my 4th viewing:

- The red mushroom cloud when the FO fires at Luke.
- The red explosions on Crait in general look soooo beautiful... I checked out the artbook today (it's really cool!) and the visuals of Crait exceeded the concepts by a lot IMO.
- Although I think Kylo's side should be more messed up after Chewie's shot, the scar is there. Good, because at first I didn't notice and thought they forgot about it.
- Spotted Mark's daughter.
- It bothered me when Finn says it was worth it to destroy the casino, because the rich guys deserved it (came across as an extremely juvenile message). Now I noticed that Rose says "Now it's worth it" as she removes the fathier's saddle. She basically says the mayhem was "worth it" just because they saved fathiers. Nice touch.

 

When DJ frees himself out of the prison cell and gets stopped at gunpoint, the way he lifts his hands and says " yeah man" (or something similar, i saw it in german) when the cop yells at him.

Can't explain why, i liked the way how he delivered that.

Before Phasma pushes him back, Finn looks down and sees the platform lift going up.

Phasma then pushes him down. She turns her back and Finn comes up the platform, but doesn't swing at her until he's at a suitable height.

Finn literally waited until he had the high ground.

Obi Wan would be proud.

Let's be honest: Adam Driver and his Kylo Ren kind of steal this movie! Every single scene with him in TLJ is fantastic. I will try to remember my favorites:
- Snoke and Kylo at the beginning when Ben tries to react and Snoke gave some lighting shok on him.
- Ben destroying his helmet in the elevator.
- Kylo in his Tie Silencer spinning like the young Vader did in TPM.
- Kylo again in the silencer about to fire against Leia and giving up and 1 second later be surprised by the 2 Tie's firing it!
- Kylo and Rey connections. All of them.
- Ben sleeping and blocking Luke's green saber with his blue saber.
- All the sequence in the throne room with Rey, Snoke and the pretorians.
- The return of Kylo's shuttle (I love thst ship, looks like a bat). Thanks RJ!
- When Kylo says to use all the fire power to destroy Luke.
- When He realises that Luke is alive and order to landing. Just avance on ky sinal.
- Luke x Kylo. All of it.

Probably there are more.

 

Maybe I'm dumb, but what's wrong there?

 

It should be "stands", not "stand"!

 

Ah yeah- that's probably a typo, with them assuming "fighters" was the subject.

It is possible, though, that given that "band" is a collective noun, the plural was used on purpose. Maybe to imply some sense of fragmentation within the Resistance (which, ultimately, is something that does sort of happen in the film). But I don't know, that's probably pretty optimistic to think.

 

I'm confused.

I could see it as either

"The Resistance stands..."

or

"...band of Resistance fighters stand..."

So I don't see the problem.

 

TLJ invoking the throne room scene from ROTJ with Rey and Kylo, but with a twist thrown in.

"This is not going to go the way you think!"

 

Did anyone else kinda hear the Emperor's theme when Kylo took Rey into Snoke's room?
