TLJ Little Details

Ah that’s it!

 

So many moments...

1. That opening shot of the transports leaving d’qar.
2. Hux watching the explosions on the dreadnaught from his ship.
3. Everything about captain canady.
3. Talli’s blue a-wing.
4. “Gunners, look alive!”
5. The bombers being decimated.
6. Paige kicking the ship for the trigger...and then it looks like she misses it for a split second!!! Haven’t had that much fun in a war movie since actual wwii war movies.
7. The slow chase...I know many hated it, but again it felt vintage and right to me like an old war movie.
8. Rey’s face after seeing Luke milk the thala-siren.
9. Luke on the Falcon and that R2 moment....hair on the back of my neck stood the nostalgia got so heavy.
10. Luke saying, “What’s that about?” when Rey shot a hole through the wall, and the caretakers getting grumpy about it.
11. That guy with the (Texas?) accent complaining about the ship parked on the public beach.
12. The master code breaker calls his girlfriend Lovey! Lovey!
13. Every scene with a porg.
14. Rey cuts through a rock and just about kills a caretaker.
15. The praetorian guard fight sequence; the lightsaber “drop,” the tossing over to finish the scene.
16. Rey’s face as she realizes Ren is still firmly in the dark side.
17. BB8 making mouse droid noises.
18. The ironing scene.
19. Luke winking at 3PO.
20. “I want every gun we’ve got to fire on that man.”
21. The final sunset of his life.
22. The books are still on the falcon!?

And so, so much more.

 

During the Dubrovnik (Canto Bight exteriors) shooting there was this funny character, later nicknamed by fans as Larry, spotted somewhere on the street:

Anyone noticed him in the actual film?

 

Haha...might have went a bit overboard, but I really loved this movie!

 

Where did you see him? I was really looking forward to see him somewhere, but no luck. I remember there was one guy inside the casino that looked sort of like Larry, but I don't think it was really him. The whole Canto Bight sequence was very short and probably heavily cut though (not that I would complain, it didn't add much to the movie, but I really wanted to see Larry somewhere ).

 

I saw it in IMAX yesterday, and during the moment that the tiny drunk alien is pumping coins into BB-8 I thought I saw one of the vulture creatures (Skeksis, had to look it up) from The Dark Crystal in the background. Has anyone one else noticed it, or was I seeing things?

 

At the beginning, Poe does a successful distraction to the FO fleet. But rather than escape, he uses it to send the bomber fleet and destroy the Dreadnaught at the cost of their lives.

Then on Crait, he notices Luke doing the distraction thing he originally did. Rather than go out and help Luke and get his people killed, he realizes that escape is the best decision now.


In the beginning when Rey tries to convince Luke to come back. He says: "what did you think was going to happen? That I was just going march out and take on the whole First Order."

This is exactly what happens on Crait.


Other stuff. Rey and Kylo in the elevator scene going to see Snoke is obviously a call back to Luke and Vader going to see Palpatine in RotJ.

Even Snoke showing Rey the monitor of the Resisitance getting blown up is just like in RotJ.

 

I just recalled a MAJOR "little detail" in TLJ:

In TFA, Han tells Leia that Ben had too much Vader in him.​

In TLJ, Snoke reaffirms this:​

"You have too much of your father's heart in you."​

...

Kylo approaches each of his "father figures" looking as if he'll do what they want of him. Then he kills them.

He did it with Han on the bridge in TFA.

Then he did it with Snoke in the throne room.

However, on Crait, Luke ain't fallin' for that $&%#.


Kylo: "Have you come to save my soul!?"

Luke: "Nope."

LOL.

 

One of my favorite moments is when Captain Canady accepts his fate and doesn't try to get off his doomed ship.
I heard he actually served in The Empire as well.

 

Yeh Dark Crystal Characters cool, like when they used the Millenium Falcon in Blade Runner

 

Still waiting for a single person on the entire internet to confirm

 

When Finn is knocked unconscious on the Supremacy. He wakes up, because Rose is trying to drag him to safety to escape.

When Kylo is knocked unconscious in the Supremacy, Rey takes the broken lightsaber and gets the hell out of there, not waking Kylo.

 

I’ve only seen the movie twice, but I think there are 5 mouse droid sightings. I love that little thing.

 

At the very beginning on the Finalizer, there was a weird white type mouse droid when Hux is talking to hologram Snoke.

 

That droid must have escaped from the studio where they make Dr Who.
