What weapon will Finn wield?

  1. Lightsaber - weapon of a jedi (comment with color)

  2. Electrostaff - can block lightsabers

  3. Z6- Riot Baton - can block lightsabers

  4. Cortosis Bladed Weapons - Shuts off lightsabers

  5. Protosaber - Ancient version of a lightsaber

  6. Blaster - ranged weapon (comment what kind)

    He can get a new one. Blasters aren't lightsabers, they are a common weapon.

    In my opinion the best weapon for Finn would be the standard blaster of the rebells named A280c

    Yeah he'll get a new one but its standard issue Rebel Gear. He's one of the main characters he needs his own unique weapon. Jyn Erso in Rogue one has the A280c but as the previews show she also has this tonfa looking weapon that she uses to great effectiveness in the previews. Finn needs a signature weapon or at least a melee weapon (doesn't have to be a lightsaber though I think it will be IJS) that he can utilize for close combat. Han's signature weapon was his blaster but chewie has the bowcaster (and wookie brute strength for close combat) heck even Lando has vibrostaff. If he's more important than the average rebel fighter he needs something besides a blaster.

    A blaster. There's no reason for Finn to have a Lightsaber, he shouldn't even know how to construct one. Finn is going in a different direction than what the path of a Jedi entails, and for that, he'll discover himself and his talents, and I don't see a Lightsaber being a part of that. Unfortunately Abrams film style of 8 or 9 twists in a single film created an arc of misdirection and Finn having the Lightsaber, raising unfair expectations.

    If rumors are to be believed, Finn is going under cover in the First Order. A lightsaber would be a poor choice for someone hoping to blend in, especially since Finn isn't a jedi and wouldn't benefit that much from using one anyway.

    Not, maybe we'll see him use a lightsaber eventually. But, for TLJ, I think his main weapon will remain a blaster.
