What weapon will Finn wield?

  1. Lightsaber - weapon of a jedi (comment with color)

  2. Electrostaff - can block lightsabers

  3. Z6- Riot Baton - can block lightsabers

  4. Cortosis Bladed Weapons - Shuts off lightsabers

  5. Protosaber - Ancient version of a lightsaber

    Doesn't really matter which side of the force sensitive argument you are on. Many will agree that he needs a rematch with kylo ren at some point. The question is will he do it with his own lightsaber, one taken from another jedi, or something else altogether? If not a lightsaber what will he use for the fight? Was the nines fight to show that he could use a boton in the next fight?

    Great thread!

    I'm still on the fence about Finn being FS so I voted blaster (I love the classic DL-44 ;))
    I would love to be surprised and have him be FS and follow the Jedi path, but it just doesn't seem likely to me.

    I think him realizing he has force abilities would be awesome but Chewie handing him hans old blaster would be an epic moment.

    My guess is lightsaber but I don't think he will build his own. Either he ends up with Lukes again , maz gives him one, or he takes one off the KoR.

    Some point he and rey have to come back together, unlike OT there could be more than one saber wielder for them to battle.

    Yes he was, but Lightsabers are the weapons of the jedi knights and for me he won't be one. But I could be wrong obviously

    i went with blaster; still not sure if Finn will be a Jedi or not.

    if he ended up with a DL-44 or the crossbow that would be AWESOME.

    A blaster, maybe the Z6 Riot Baton once or twice, and a lightsaber regardless of his Force Sensitivity status.

    ...or a crossbow. Crossbow's always good.

    If bet on it being green sort of like Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan but it can convert into a riot baton/blaster .

    i'm... torn on this one.

    whilst i'm happy to accept that Finn has close combat training and was semi-handy with a lightsaber and that he won't become a Force user/Jedi... will less knowledgeable cinema go-ers get that?

    Finn is holding a lightsaber on the poster, and he fights with it twice during TFA. whilst he doesn't use any visible force powers during the film... aren't people going to assume that he'll be a jedi?

    add to that the mystical character Maz, who talks about the force with Rey and then gives the saber to Finn and encourages him to use it.

    I think it will confuse those that don't eat, drink and blast star wars like us lot :)

    Lightsaber.
    Either they're jedi weapons and only fs people can wield them without severely injuring themselves...which finn seems to have managed

    Or they're just swords, in which case, why not carry something that can be used as a tool, is an instant kill on most targets, has the chance to deflect lasers, and you've got a friend who can make them.

    You get surrounded in a bar brawl against a wookie and others. If a lightsaber is just a sword, it's gonna help you out much better than whatever pikes and common weapons they have.

    Sure jedi exist, just don't fight em...but that would be no reason to not carry one.

    Unless only fs people can use em that is.
