so since you seem to know me very well, just tell me what it is telling about me.

 

These forums are not for making personal comments about one another so I wouldn't want to delve into your mind too much. But what I would say is that you are projecting your own fears/repressed thoughts/issues onto the mythological characters of a fantasy story. If Daisy Ridley isn't offended by the idea of ReyLo, then you probably shouldn't be either. And rather than letting your mind wonder into the gutter, you should perhaps try and take in the ideas we are presenting rather than just painting them with these narrow-minded yet offensive notions of rape fantasy.

EVERYONE needs to cut this out. This is becoming a recurring problem in multiple Cantina threads, and for some reason it seems particularly prevalent in these "Reylo" threads.

This hasn't gone unnoticed by mods and staff members, and while we don't want to have to start taking official steps to mitigate the problem, we won't have much in the way of other options if people don't start taking the hint and leaving personal jabs out of these discussions.

(That includes pointing out that personal comments are out of bounds and then proceeding to make a personal comment.)

I'm just going to say I do not want Kylo redeemed, for many reasons; I do not want this ridiculous Reylo abomination, nor do I want Rey to go dark. Just have Kylo stay bad, and have Rey trained to kill him. the end.

 

The main question of this thread is: Why did Ben Solo turn to the Dark Side?

I guess that reading Aftermath: Empire's End clarified some of the ideas we had from TFA. And also left with a lot of questions regarding who is Snoke, who is not Snoke, and how the little son of Han and Leia went to the Dark.

I know the Story Group will be releasing more information through the canon material drop by drop since their hands are tied by the following ST movies, but it would be interesting to have more info about it.

EE has made me so excited for any young Ben Solo novels we might get once his backstory gets explained in the movies (hopefully in TLJ).

Quite the opposite, I'm tired of the concept that we need to go dark, which always is stated with any reboot/sequel film these days. From Batman to Superman to Ninja Turtles, everything from our childhood that they seek to improve immediately turns to let's make it darker, and forget the Hope that came from the OT, of a small town farmboy rescuing a princess and good defeating evil. Rey does not need to go dark to have an authentic character arc, nor do I feel Kylo needs to come back to the lightside, he can simply keep going down the dark path he chose.
