I am sure 1st Order consider him a coward.

But we aren't talking about 1st Order code of conduct. He took action bravely in defiance of an evil force. He had been a conscript defected and fought against that evil. The Resistance consider him a hero. Your analysis is ignoring the rest of the film. He switched sides from being a forced to fight conscript. To someone willing to fight to rescue a friend and stop the 1st Order from blowing up whole planets. Only the evil and grotesque rules of the evil 1st Order should see it that way. They are objectively evil by any measures, Finn's action against them are brave and morally commendable.

The newest Star Wars Insider is making its way to fans, and the eagle-eyed folks at Jedi News have an update for those of you who love John Boyega's Finn (and, let's face it. Who doesn't?) and the Star Warsanimated series Forces of Destiny.

In an interview with Star Wars fangirl and author Tricia Barr, Lucasfilm Story Group member Carrie Beck revealed that both Finn and Han Solo would be making their FoD debut when the animated series returns for its second season later this year. Beck confirmed John Boyega will be voicing Finn, but there's no word yet on who'll take on the role of Han Solo. That said, Forces of Destiny creator and writer Jennifer Muro made a promise to curious fans. "Han Solo? Don't worry, he'll be glorious."

Some Star Wars fans have expressed dismay at the lack of male characters in the first season of Forces of Destiny. It will be interesting to see how they react to the addition of heroes like Finn and Solo in the upcoming season.

LOL, this blows my mind. It was VERY CLEARLY marketed as a show for girls. It's like showing dismay for the lack of monster trucks in Top Gun.

He's a highly trained soldier with experience in melee weapons and hand to hand combat, as we saw with TR-8R. The fact that he was able to hold his own against Klyo, who is basically dying at this point BTW, was not a surprise. But once Kylo got aggravated enough, he ended it quite quickly and easily.

"It's silly that Finn was able to go against Kylo (even just for a minute) with no prior lightsaber training.. so they need a reason for this."

It's already explained since december 2015, Finn has melee weapons training:

a lightsaber is technically a melee weapon, and Kylo is clearly playing with Finn during most of the fight, until Finn touch him, and remember Kylo is not a full capacities, he has been shot with a Wookiee bowcaster and is weakened by the murder of his father:

A lot of people seem to forget Ren was bleeding out during that whole fight and kept forcing out more blood too.

Yep and Kylo also doesn't want to kill Rey during the fight, and even after the murder of his father Kylo has to hurt himself to feel the dark side (the dark side is fuelled by pain, suffering...), the light is still in him...

I was watching a video wht was saying that Kylo Ren never finish his training with Luke to be a Jedi, so his fighting skills with a light saber are not of a Jedi or Sith. This is why Finn was able to hold him off for a while along that he was wounded. Rey who never train with a light saber was able to beat him because she had melee training with her staff to defend her self. She used this method with the light saber and how the combat seems with Kylo Ren and her were not like to Jedi or Jedi and Sith fighting. Because Kylo Ren no Sith never did he finish his Jedi training and this why Rey was able to beat him, and Finn was able to strike a blow with him, and he had combat training with Melee weapons.

I don't know if we should assume that Kylo didn't get ANY LS training from Snoke. And any Force training with Snoke would also help improve his LS prowess. Regarding Finn and Kylo's battle, is there ever really any point where Kylo is in trouble? For all the vaunted expertise that is now being touted that Finn has in melee, Kylo exerted minimum effort battling him while seriously physically and psychologically impaired. That's not a slight against Finn (he wasn't afraid to fight, just not prepared to) but it is (IMO) an indictment of this emerging narrative of Finn as a melee trained Storm Trooper, and that these Storm Troopers were being trained specifically to confront Jedi. Finn wasn't killed immediately in his fight with Kylo because of his skill, he wasn't killed immediately because Kylo wanted to punish and torture him. He didn't strike Kylo because he was skilled, he struck him because Kylo was careless precisely because he didn't respect Finn's skill with a LS. If we are to use this as a gauge of how well these melee trained Storm Troopers would do against a Force User, it begs the question why they bother training melee at all?

Yep it was affecting his fighting, must've been feeling cramps on that side. Chewie's fault but it was a friend avenging a friend situation.

To answer the original question, no, Finn won't be a Jedi of any sort, so he won't be the last of them. In exchange for a Jedi arc we're going to get "great character development" and an "interesting storyline" that allows Finn to once again become the all-important and iconic "heart of the story".

Star Wars HQ is stating that LFM intentionally misled fans to believe Finn was going to be a Jedi to hide the fact Rey would be this Sequel trilogy's Jedi, so not to spoil the reveal.
