I was originally going to, but then I saw the trailer and realized, "who am I kidding? I'm going to see EVERYTHING Star Wars" LOL. I'll be there. I originally thought this story wouldn't be interesting because I viewed it as a Episode 3.5, a pre-quel where we already know what's going to happen and it will be poorly done. But from what I've seen from the trailers, it looks good. So I'll be there opening night.

I definitely won't be missing any Star Wars films.

My view has been that Rogue One is Disney's best bet to establish the Anthology/Star Wars Story films. The begininng of Episode IV was always a great trailer for a theoretical prequel. Who hasn't wondered about how the plans were captured, and how they got to Leia? Did those Rebels make it (survive)? Did they all make it, or was there a lone survivor? Were any ESB or RotJ key players like Leia, Madine, Wedge, or Ackbar involved at all? It all sounds like an incredible underdog story, a turning-of-the-tide moment making way for A New Hope, judging by that opening crawl and scene. It should appeal to Original fans quite easily, as well as casual fans of Star Wars or military films.

On the other hand, the Han Solo film presents a great risk. Recasting Han Solo? Most feel that Harrison Ford *is* Han Solo. How many questions do we even actually want answered on screen? Rogue One will inform the average Star Wars fan, and Disney/LFL, as to whether or not these spin-offs will work in the future, and whether or not more can be made. If R1 works, the Solo film will look safer. And the potential for eventual Yoda, Ancient Jedi, Old Republic, Dark Times, post-Endor, etc. films will become real.

I am not even exaggerating but the choreography in a lot of these fan made duels are SO MUCH better than the moves we've seen in the actual SW movies.. There are dozens and dozens of amazing fan movies I have seen on youtube which just simply CRUSH IT! This is great too! :)

I personally wasn't even remotely interested in Rogue One...not even a little. After I saw the teaser, I was hooked...they did it, and I'll see it for sure. That movie will end up in my collection without a doubt.

Now for the rest of the known (or proposed) films I have this:

Younger Han Solo: I'm really not interested. If they can land an actor that can pull off a dead-on impersonation of the same cocky (Harrison) Han that we saw in the OT, that might be different, but at this time I almost feel like it would be almost a "counterfeit Star Wars"...almost like someone else playing Luke Skywalker and trying to pass it off as real (ironically).

Yoda: Absolutely see it, because well...YODA.

Obi-Wan...Ewan McGregor is Obi-Wan. I'm a diehard OT fan of Obi-wan played by Alec Guiness, but Ewan absolutely nailed a younger version, and it's believable. So yes, definitely see Obi-Wan also.

Boba Fett: I'm torn. I was never part of the "FETT LIVES" camp, as he always seemed like an incidental character to me that just wasn't that interesting. Now that being said, if they had Daniel Logan reprise the role (as he already was the younger Fett) I might relent and go for it, BUT Jeremy Bulloch would have to at LEAST be play a small role in the movie as an Easter egg for the OT fans. Call it "fan service" if you will, but that would be the clincher that would turn be back to see it immediately.

Now regardless of my interest or otherwise, I'll own every one of the movies, but the chances are obviously there, that depending on the depth and scope of the movie, that the PT could potentially remain where it is now in my ranking scale of all of the movies.

So in agreement here. IMO there can NEVER be another Han Solo other than Harrsion Ford. It just ain't the damm same. Yea I will go and see it of course, but there will be that constant thought in the back of my head nagging at me and telling me..........no.........nope. We just saw Han (the real Han I might add) return to the big screen several months ago. Now to come behind that with another actor? Han may be dead, but my loyalty towards Harrison Ford isn't.

As a Star Wars fan I will probably see all of them. I have so far liked what we've seen from R1 so that is a definite. The Han Solo movie is what I'm skeptical about but probably will end up watching just out of curiosity and might end up liking. The third movie I have no idea what it is about. But depending on how good the films are is what will make my decision on rewatching them.

What also confuses me is that they are supposedly not trying to cast someone to impersonate him but rather to "embody" him .

Apparently having a HS film was Lucas's idea and if it fails they can blame him. I don't think it's a good idea.

Me too. When you see Han Solo you see Harrison Ford. Same as Indy. I think, if a movie about Solo is taking place it needs to be when he is unrecognizable as Ford, so maybe between the years of 0 to 15-20. But a lot of people (general audience) will be wondering " I thought Harrison Ford was Han Solo?" Could be wrong.

I agree he would probably have to he a teenager to show the big difference but then no one wants to see a teenager as a main character .

How can you pass judgement on something you haven't seen yet? Sure Han Solo being played by someone else is hard to imagine- but its not like he's being recast in the Sequel Trilogy.

I think young Han will be a fun movie, and should be given a chance. Besides, it's a character that captivated our minds and captured our hearts: Han Solo. Harrison Ford was able to bring that character to life. Who is to say that Alden Ehrenreich can't also bring him to life? That is yet to be seen. I'm staying optimistic and I'll be there opening night (as I'm sure most/many here will be) and I'll be excited as hell.

And think of it this way. Han Solo could have easily been forced into the PT where he didnt belong in some inane way (like how Darth Vader built C-3PO), being played by some kid who wasn't even old enough to understand who the character really is. That would have almost undoubtedly cheapened the character we all love, we just have to have faith that wont be the case with a (hopefully) well thought out, stand alone movie with the right actor. So, it could be a lot, lot worse.
