Would you like to see prequel elements in ep VIII?

I'm sure many of us would love to see the force ghosts of Yoda, Ewan's Obi-Wan and maybe even Anakin in a short scene with Luke. It would feel perfectly organic and it would make perfect sense in the universe, plus all of those actors have said they'd be happy to come back. Could leave one of them for XI, but yeah, a last look at those characters (in this trilogy) would be so much fun.

That's all I can think of right now.

 

Yes, definitely and I dont even like the prequels. The mention of clones in TFA was a good moment imo. Small cameos, like droid/ship parts in the background would be a great way to tie the trilogies together and to keep widening the SW world.

 

Absolutely, PT is canon therefore shouldn't be ignored. It can't be rewritten, whether some people would like that is irrelevant. To ignore it is pretty sad really. Personally I'm OK with the PT, it has many big flaws and shortcomings - but it's Star Wars so I'll never dislike it!!

 

I actually wouldn't mind revisiting previous planets or seeing old battle droids in episodes going forward (so long as the battle droids don't speak too much - I personally don't have a problem with it but I don't think it fits the tone anymore).

 

Besides of cameos of prequel characters (Obi-Wan, Anakin, Yoda) and revisiting of prequel planets, I would love see a comeback of the double bladed lightsaber. It´s such a cool design and I want to see it again on the big screen.

 

I think that design was only for that movie such as how kylo saber is only really for his character but I want them to revisit the themes of the prequels.

 

I wouldn't mind Rey turning her staff into a double bladed lightsaber after losing Anakin's lightsaber.

And yeah the prequels are not entirely bad. There are gems in them. I would love to see a battledroid in a junkshop or Luke and Rey or even Leia visiting Naboo (but no gungans)

 

I have enjoyed the links made by the comics or by the new canon books - as "Bloodline" mentioning Padme and Naboo - so I would definitely like something from the PT to be included on Episode VIII. I'm not a prequel hater, I acknowledge they have several flaws but either we like it or not, they are part of the canon.

 

I'd want to see Naboo.

 

Yeah, Rey could use a double bladed lightsaber but I think she will stay with the Skywalker sword.
Maybe a Knight of Ren has a double bladed lightsaber (if they use lightsabers) or even Snoke uses such a lightsaber. Wouldn´t it be cool if Snoke fights with a double bladed lightsaber against Luke/Kylo and Rey?

 

You cant go from Sir Alec to Ewan thats just a disgrace to Sir Alec. It worked in the prequels because Obi Wan was suppose to be younger, but in Episode VIII he is an older man (even as a force ghost) like he was in ESB and ROTJ... Also, they have the technology today to make an excellent CGI face version of Sir Alec, then they should go for it and make it the way it should be instead of going with an alternate solution just because Sir Alec passed on. They could still use Ewan's body though.

 

I would like to see prequels ERA elements but stay away from the feel of those movies even though I'm very far from hating them at all, Especially Episodes 1 and 3

 

You're right, I actually thought about it afterwards and Ewan playing post-Ep IV Obi Wan would indeed be a bit weird. Regarding a CG Kenobi, I'll have to see Tarkin in Rogue One before I'm on board with that .

 

I think a bunch of the planets were good in theory and could be great jumping off points in the ST.

My distaste and disappointment for JJ wasting 1/3-1/4 of the ST remaking ANH has been expressed many times, but one of the biggest ways he robbed the ST was that Jakku BS.

I liked the sinkhole planet, and thought geonosis (sp?), the wookie planet, and Camino looked very cool and believable.

Naboo was a cool world that never really was able to be used in full due to awful writing by GL.
I think the planets that appear in the Order 66 montage could all be included in the ST if need be.

 

Hell no. The prequels have already done enough damage. We don't need them ruining any future episodes.

 

To answer the question in the thread title: Yes. Really, each of the first seven films are flawed, IMO its disingenuous to point to one part while ignoring the others in that manner.

Among other elements I would like to see from the PT in the ST is a small amount of politics, which I found lacking in TFA.

As I understand it Maz's castle originally had Anakin's flag from the pod race in TPM, but JJ had that removed for no reason. It was a very minute nod to the PT that most viewers, even diehards, may not have noticed, but was still a very cool one.

I wouldn't mind recognizable droid parts or ship parts in a junk pile. Maybe even see some character cruising around in a vessel in the style as seen pre-Clone Wars. Due to the nature of the timeline I seriously doubt any stronger links will be had.

I 100% agree with this! It'd be great to see some worn Prequel era stuff. It'd be cool to see a re-used Battle-droid as a servant or something like that.

I'd also maybe like to see somewhere like Naboo in the ST age. It'd be interesting to see if Naboo's beauty is the same or if it's got worse since the fall of the Empire.

In my eyes the Empire were evil but brought prosperity. I want to see how the whole galaxy was affected by the fall of the Empire. There's gotta be a lot of reasons why many people want the Empire back in the form of the First Order right?
