is at first about money ;)
Fett alive in the changed canon is money.
Maybe Disney will release a new Blu-ray set of the OT in the near future with Fett escaping the pit.
But I would like to see my childhood movies again, the unaltered version in the best possible condition.

Dude, I totally respect that. There's a lot of fans out there who think the same way. I'm also hoping Disney will work something out with 20th Century Fox and get the OTR released on Blu-Ray. I will admit that I do not hold the OTRs to the same level of reverence as Purists do(I consider myself to be in the OT/EU camp), but I know how you feel because I just got done factbombing a few nights ago someone who decided to take a steamer on Heir to the Empire. I understand your anger over this.

True, true. I suppose I was thinking more along the lines of being explained within RotJ. That is a logical explanation, and one that would certainly fit well with what I proposed, but then we need both the CGI edit to the OT plus some exposition in another film explaining his escape.

So probably it'd make more sense just to leave the OT alone, then have a film featuring him to show him escaping from the Sarlacc (possibly shortly after the barge exploded), and then traversing the desert in a manner you mentioned. Actually, that part alone seems like it'd be pretty cool to watch.

I'd love to see Boba Fett escape the sarlacc and finally have it cemented in continuity on film. I just think that yet another tweaking of ROTJ is NOT the place to do it. Doing that changes that trilogy even more when it should be left alone. Do we really need ANOTHER version of the OT?

The logical place to do it is in the opening scene of a Boba Fett movie.

They could do it as a short like how Doctor Who gave us the Paul McGann regeneration. Imagine the level of freaking out on the internet.

I honestly don't dig Boba that much. He has no character and the only thing he actually does is track the Millennium Falcon. I really didn't care that he died (?) the way he did.

Would it be correct to assume your response means you don't want to change the scene?

I would leave the originals in their original form...and I would rather not have a Boba Fett movie...

    43 EXT DUNE SEA
The little skiff skips around the burning Sail Barge, which continues
its chain of explosions. As the skiff sails off across the desert, the
barge settles to the sand and disappears in one final conflagration.

Then, the desert floor heaves as if an explosion has erupted
beneath the surface of the sand. A moment later, the sands rise again--
this time whipped into the air by the stabilisers of SLAVE ONE as it
hovers over the pit of Carkoon. Fett's gloved hand breaks the surface,
groping for a hold. The sand continues to swirl, forming a storm as we

44 EXT DUNE SEA - LANDING AREA
A ferocious sandstorm, blocking our view. Then, through the ROAR, we HEAR
THE VOICES of our heroes. They emerge slowly from the veil of sand,
pressing on against the wind. First come Artoo and Threepio, followed
by Leia guiding Han, then Luke and Lando come into view, each
supporting one side of the towering Chewbacca, who hobbles from his

I don't think Boba Fett's end will be in the stomach of a sarlacc.

    This.

In reality, Boba Fett really didn't do a whole lot. He looked cool and was completely a mystery. This is why he became a fan favorite. His back story was specific to whatever you could come up with yourself. Exploring the character further could potentially damage the mystique.

Seeing how all signs in the new Canon are heavily integrating Fett into the OT, with Empire, ANH sneak-peek, ROTJ "fake death", as the Canon scenes before the Disney sale. Now with the new Fett being hired by Vader post-ANH in the comics, I suspect he's gonna be revealed alive post-ROTJ sooner or later. I like that too, with him being a heavy, third party player, who has a ton of Prequel screen time, from a meh AOTC to a great transformation in TCW. An edit to ROTJ would be kinda meh, and would even today look a bit fake, let it be. A sign in TFA or the spinoff? Much better.

Well, he had a thousand years to think of something. I like Wayne's idea of remotely controlling Slave I to get himself out. Although I wouldn't insert it into RoTJ.

Well, with the rumor bomb that dropped today regarding Boba Fett, it seems Disney is more than simply peeved about how Boba was 'killed off'; they're steamed about nearly everything GL did with Fett. They want a complete overhaul.

    From today's rumor:
    • Boba Fett and his whole back story is set to be completely reloaded in the first spinoff movie. Disney is not happy with how George handled the character and they want to give him more of a good guy twist.
    • Like it or not but Boba Fett will be reloaded as fans know him, they are working from a plot outline (not script) from Kasdan and he wants Boba Fett to be killed when he is a kid and taken over by another person who assumes his identity. Temura Morrison is not a box office actor and they will get someone who can lead fans back to the theaters.
I feel if they're really gonna "reload" the character then a simple CGI/PFX edit becomes a moot cause: you would absolutely need to go full movie for this.

One thing that struck me was that by dumping Temura maybe Jason Wingreen's voice will be coming back. Or maybe they'll just get whatever actor they cast for the spinoff.. geez, now it's just getting crazy..
