Would you use CGI to save Boba Fett

Yes, I would use CGI. Fett got swallowed while covered head to toe in Mandalorian armor while still packing quite a bit of weaponry. It would be like you or I swallowing a GI Joe that starts firing in our bellehs. Not so good for the digestion. It might be entertaining for a certain age group if the Sarlaac's regurgitation of Fett gave new meaning to the phrase, "The funk of 40,000 years."

However, I think killing off a weak character and replacing him with someone who assumes his identity begs too many questions and is ultimately lame (Smallville fans, remember the Chlois debate? ) Better to simply use a more prominent actor. The character is 40 years older, after all.


Re: why doesn't Fett go after Han? Presumably Fett got paid as soon as Jabba received Han in the carbonite. The only reason he helps him later is to maintain good relations with Jabba.

 

Simple, film another shot of him shooting a grappling hook onto the barge as he's falling, then the Sarlacc grabs his leg. By the time he gets free he sees the gang racing away from the barge, it explodes and sends him flying a few feet away. He wakes up in the sand, surrounded by wreckage and bodies.

I am totally against adding more CGI to the OT.

As far as Boba Fett still being alive, I think it's awesome!
I have a new explanation for his escape. In ROTJ we seen a person in Fett's armor fall to his death. Maybe it wasn't really him. We know that his blaster is slightly different than in ESB and he didn't seem very agile during the scene. He is supposed to be the greatest bounty hunter in the galaxy, yet he can't keep himself from dying because Han accidentally hit his jet pack?

I know this idea seems kinda 'cheezy'. But the scene made him look like a novice bounty hunter and this could explain why.
I think after we see what the new Darth Vader comic has to show us about Fett, maybe we will have a better understanding of what he is capable of.

 

Boba Fett is a survivor no matter what.

Qui Gonn died, but came back as a Force ghost. Yoda died, but came back as a Force ghost. Obi Wan died, but came back as a Force ghost. Anakin died, but came back as a Force ghost. Darth Maul died - just kidding! Darth Plageous? Who knows?

Maybe, just once, someone in the Star Wars universe can actually stay dead?

Personally, I don't really need Boba Fett to be back on screen. He was just small cog in a story I enjoyed who was also a cool toy.
For me, characters and things in movies have functions within the context of that movie, I don't really have that urge to see things dragged out of that context, it kind of takes away the functionality...
