"You still want to kill me...." What does Kylo Ren mean?

Also I just remembered something, in the novelization (at another point) it is implied that Kylo is not generally involved in military operations and such, for instance when he gives the order for the troops to retreat on Takodana, in the novel there was something about him thinking that he is not really authorized to give tactical military orders, but that troopers respect (fear?) him enough not to disobey his orders. There was something of the kind, which I now suddenly remembered...It's actually a curious remark that...

 

I was thinking myself that those specific troopers were given clearance to go down to Takodana with Ren as a side mission thinking it was going to be a simple kidnapping ...

 

Hm. Kylo knew the droid is with Han. No simple mission that...

 

I was talking about in regards to Rey ...

 

I know, but Rey's abduction and the hasty way Kylo left Takodana could also be attributed (interpreted) to his wish to avoid facing Han...

EDIT: His main objective was actually BB8 (the map), Rey simply distracted him and he made the mistake of going ahead with his feeling and stopping the search for BB8...

 

Didn't BB-8 even follow Rey into the forest and she told him to run ?

 

Yes. That's why he followed them- the trooper told him the droid was noticed going into the forest with a girl...

 

I'm sure that if the cavalry hadn't come in time then Kylo would have gotten BB-8, Han wouldn't have died, Finn would have either been executed and/or sent in for re-conditioning and Kylo would have tried to turn Rey Evil and taken the Skywalker LIGHTSABER instead of keeping his red one .

I struggle to see how much "agency" a scared young woman has while locked in a torture chair by a man with the power to render her unconscious with a click of his fingers, while telling her "I could take whatever I wanted"...

True. I think agency basically means ability to act and dogma a sacred text often rigidly adhered to. (off [the top of] my head and probably inaccurate.)

I've downloaded a free software app called WordWeb. CNTRL + right click on any word on your monitor and you're hit with the info. Don't know about OS or phones though.

 

Kylo = kilo = thousand or thousandth
Ren = perhaps Some ancient title bestowed on leaders of a long-lived dark side order, the "First" dark side "Order."

Kylo Ren = The Thousandth Ren. The one from some ancient dark side prophecy. Lolz, maybe?

Anakin was the "fulfillment" of a prophecy the Jedi's favored. Perhaps Ben is the fulfillment of a prophecy from the Dark Side ancients. Perhaps even the "true" meaning or translation of the prophecy the Jedi received. Thus, he believes he will finish what Vader started by completely fulfilling the prophecy.

There were theories out there that it was taken from his last names (Skywalker and Solo). But I don't really know if it's just mere speculation.
