DarthDwight told me there are some trolls out who do nothing but dislike posts (or something to that effect). For what it is worth, an alien Sith would be fine by me. We already had a really good one in Darth Maul.

that's an interesting idea.

one of the best forms of mis-direction is to hide things in plain site... the first thing we see in the trailer is Boyega jumping up out of nowhere. probably not the actual force waking him up moment.. but it could be symbolic.

What was the name of that character in rebels who opted to stay in the empire to find his sister? i think he was only in one episode. it would be a stretch for him to be boyega of course.. but i like a good stretch once in a while.

Agreed. Maybe Gleeson is the good character that they are trying to turn. Or an Empire officer that's on the fence. But this rumor is in direct conflict with Spoilerman's from 4chan.

Was there a rumor Andy Serkis was playing 2 characters? if so he could be playing a 'version' of Nom Anor and later in the film(s) Vergere. Could also explain why the Tie's appear to be shooting past the falcon, maybe aiming at a new alien race.

My money is that we've seen a lot of concept for the character that Serkis is playing because when you're building a new IP, one of the first things you do is really hone in your central characters, especially if there is a new big bad villain - it takes the most work and has the most back and forth.

Keeping in mind that both Darth Vader and Darth Maul's voice were overdubbed (vs Prowse/Park actor voices)

I think this new "zombie" character that Serkis is "voicing" (that we heard in the trailer) is this character:

A hypothesis is that these are all concepts of the same character made at different times.

They are all Andy Serkis' voiced character - and the main villain that is out to take advantage of the Force Awakening.

He is holding Vader's skull not in reverence, but as a historian learning from the mistakes of the past. I don't think of him as a collector but more of a shadow - going to Vader's burial site and stealing his helmet as a reminder that 'the most powerful jedi ever' is still reduced to a burnt helmet.

If he is the evil - then he must believe the Sith to be the true power in the universe and Darth Vader is the object lesson of how not to train a Sith because Vader ultimately failed the Sith.

Serkis won't make that same mistake.

It's a logical argument but here is a counterpoint

Who was the main villain of Episode I? Darth Sidious. Who was marketed the most? Darth Maul

I think that sort of relationship is what we have with Serkis and Driver. Serkis is the main villain but Driver will be the marketed one

I have several theories about Serkis and his role. These are all speculation and supposition based on my own theories and the rumors and such that been floating.

1- Darth Plageus- The undead Sith version of a Force Ghost (which does not need to be human). He is said to have been killed by his apprentice. Has the ability to cause the mitoclorians to create life. But most importantly able to "cheat death." I love this theory it answers a question and creates more questions and ties it to all the movies potentially. Imagine the possibility of an enemy who can animate dead things or possess Solo children like poor misunderstood Goth Solo (Driver) who collects items that connect him to his lost and unknown grandfather.

2- Darth wait for it MAUL- Huh? What? Hows that? Clone Wars is cannon Maul is motivated by power. We last saw him as a tortured second rate servant of the Palpatine. He is alien so life span is not an issue. Given that he is robotic from the waist down means he can have all sorts of locomotion options. Not keeping him a half spider was a huge mistake. My guess is if he shows up again in Rebels he will be coming back.

3- Something Else- There are all sorts of crazy options. But the Force Witches that are connected to Maul and Ventriss are Force Users and Dark Side that operate out side of the "Always 2 there are" paradigm.
