    Couldn't Serkis be playing some new type of neutral Yoda?

    Based from the lines in the trailer, it's more like he's foreseeing a nearing doom between the dark side and the light. Not announcing that he's bringing it.

    I agree that the teaser lines sound disjointed, there could be a line from someone else missing:

    In the main thread for the trailer someone posted a noteworthy screen grab off of one of their fancy media players that displayed the cast and credits - both of the film itself and the trailer. The one for the trailer had but a few names in it: Daisy, John, Oscar, Adam, and Andy. Comparing that list of names with what we saw on-screen, I'm gonna go ahead and assume its an exact list of who is featured in the trailer - both in physical form and voice.

    The only thing that we really know about Serkis' character, is that he delivers exposition about the "awakening" phenomenon. Whether he's good, bad, or ugly is all still just speculation. Seems to me that Disney is going to great lengths to envoke nostalgia for the OT, while simultaneously distancing the brand from the prequels. This is why I'm doubtful about any inclusion or reference to Darth Plagueis.

    I think this only applies to aesthetic and production principles, not narrative. Disney would be foolish to distance the ST from half of the saga IMO....

    Serkis to be a fan fave? Gwendoline not necessarily hunting people down?

    This is very strange. A villain like The Emperor is not what I would describe as having the potential of becoming a fan fave. Could Kylo Ren be played by Serkis and we're all completely off?

    I don't see how an old guy who looks like a zombie and has been through stuff could ever be the clear frontrunner for fan fave. Kylo and his cross saber, on the other hand, is already a fan fave and we haven't even seen his full getup.

    Methinks we may need to stop the train and recalibrate.

    I was counting on being a fan of Serkis' character. As an actor myself, the work he does as an actor and mo-cap artist is truly amazing!

    The level he puts into acting is astounding, and that feeds into what he brings out in mo-cap. I'm really looking forward to what he does for TFA and Age of Ultron.
