Biggest plot twist of Episode VIII

We could get a switcheroo with Rey going to the darkside and Ben coming back to the light. Probably not but the thought crossed my mind.

 

Han dropped Rey off (HE'S NOT HER FATHER, HE JUST DROPPED HER OFF), and that was part of Ben's cynicism catalyst; and Finn is Force Sensitive (and maybe related to a character we've seen before...? Not Lando, but maybe a different one...)

 

Time travel?
I'm not a huge fan of it and to be honest I think in the last years it has become a cliche rather than something original.

But previous works of all the 3 directors of this trilogy (Abrams, Jhonson and Trevvorow) had some time travel.
Kasdan said that Jhonson is going to do something weird and never seen before in SW
so I don't know... but I have a bad feeling about this.

 

That really would be the death of the franchise for me

 

Luke & Rey make lil Jedi younglings, and the planet they are on is an ancient Jedi honey moon retreat.

 

So Luke's lightsaber calling to Rey was a metaphor...clever.

 

Finn is a sleeper agent for the First Order. His "betrayal" was catalysed by the use of an inhibitor chip (such as those found in the Clones hat executed Order 66, or the prisoners on Kashyyyk in Life Debt).

 

Ben, after realizing what he's done, decides to access the time force and go back to the days before Anakin is born to kill Shmi Skywalker but ends up falling in love with her and getting her pregnant with Anakin so then he mind wipes her and comes back to the present hoping to have his family back but nothing's really changed. The ohter twist is that Kylo realizes that his actions wont change anything becuse everything in the universe has a path and purpose within the force timeline so he just kills himself. .

Exactly...not Rey being Luke's dad but Ben being Luke's grandfather/nephew so he's technically talking to himself when he's talking to vader's helmet

Unfortunately i'm going in fully expecting the death off Luke, though i can't tell you how much i want to be wrong!

For me, Rey and Finn's story was set up to be so similar in TFA. Both orphans. Both nice people who sacrificed things for the greater good. Both experienced the same things on their journey. Became great friends. I think something has to happen that breaks that apart and sends Rey on a different route.

It appears that Finn is becoming more integrated with the Resistance at the moment. And in TFA the one difference between him and Rey was that Finn was originally running from the battle whilst Rey wanted to help the cause. I'm wondering whether Rey in TLJ discovers something that makes her dislike the Resistance, e.g. The Resistance killed her parents. Or even Luke killed her parents. That for me would be a good twist and something that would throw everything up in the air.

Kylo: Luke never told you what happened to your parents.
Rey: He told me enough! He told me you killed them!
Kylo: No! Luke killed your parents!
