    Vader is a Place Holder for the real villain. The classic Storms are Place Holders for the final look of the new Storms.

    Is the burnt up Vader helmet the "cyborg" guy is holding a placeholder for anything? How about the concept picture of just Vaders burnt helmet? I ask because if they are placeholders then who's mask is the cyborg holding? Otherwise some depictions of Vader are placeholders and others aren't?

    which cyborg are we talking about? the Montross concept from the OT which will be a bit part for the pirates on Ridley's homeworld... or the character wearing a mask? And are you speculating or do you have information?

    There is a difference between a placeholder and an early concept. We know Vader isn't in the film so he is most likely a place holder. The grave robber being a cyborg was an early concept and replaced with the mask Kylo Ren has now

    I am not sure of that... and then there is the Warlord concept, which was holding the crosshilt saber... I think there is significant differences between them to speculate on multiple characters for the Grave Robber and Kylo, and potentially the Warlord as well... Kylo seems to be rather set in his image, and the Grave Robber somewhat in formation...

    Speculation of course..

    Is this guy holding an ACTUAL Vader helmet or is the helmet a placeholder for another mask? Perhaps the Kylo Ren mask?

    I thought of that, however the description on the bottom of the photo says "HELMET_BURNT" and "ZorroHat", no mention of Vader in the description. They may have used the Vader helmet to get an idea what a burnt out version of this mask would look like. Seems as though this design came after the other leaked images.[​IMG]
    I'm just trying to understand the thought process behind have Vader as a placeholder in some concept art but an actual representation in others.

    Remember, some of these pieces were created very early in development... there are places where Daisey's character looks nothing like her, because she had not been cast... there are places where Boyega's character is Caucasian because (again) he had not yet been cast. The burned Vader helmet, however, I think is accurate, and that one piece is a prop piece...

    Confusing in places I agree...
