-The FO outfits are clearly Nazi-inspired, Hux has a blatant Waffen-SS aesthetic to him, but it works for what kind of group they are.

    -Kylo Ren's outfit is fantastic.

-Finn and Han's looks are basic, but work nonetheless.

    -Phasma looks cool at least.

It's the desert, not a ton of color options there it seems. ;)

I really liked both Rey's and Kylo's costume. Rey's was practical for every desert situation as well as for movement.

Kylo's costume was both elegant and menacing. On the last Rebel Force Radio episode, they talked with Tom Spina who was charged to handle the costume during SNL filming. He said the costume has so many parts, the buckles and zippers are cleverly concealed, it takes a long time to put it together. You can follow the link to hear everything about it. It starts about 33:50.

    Great thread. :)

I also love that Kylo's costume clearly has Vader inspirations, fitting his character, but is still very much it's own thing.

yeah, it's enough different to be distinguished for itself. i really feared they were trying to just do Darth Vader all over and i hated it the first time i saw it, but it's really gown on me and i love the medieval influence and the fact that it's not all leather and rubber and metal.

i like the surcoat and the skirts on it ~ an interesting mix of medieval knight and samurai ~ the layers serve to protect, but also disguise the intention of movement.

yeah i didn't like her outfit. it seemed incongruous to me too. the weird rubber fingertips were kinda interesting, though!

For someone who was supposed to be hiding out from assassins, Padme was sure pre-occupied about her wardrobe a lot, and making little real effort to hide. ;)

    RE: Desert garb

The light colors blend in, useful for when the highwaymen and rogues want to gang up on you
They are cooler than dark colors
Things don't get laundered very often. Over time everything takes on the same hues. Darker colors fade from UV and whites get dingy.

I think they did a very good job with it.
