Do Thursday's usually do better than Wednesdays? Honestly this weekend's box office will be really telling.

I think it is expected for the movie to do OK in the first couple of weeks because many fans would have bought tickets and booked their seats already. Most of these fans will avoid looking at spoilers and reviews. Plus, there is no other movie for Star Wars to compete with in theaters at the moment too. Jumanji does open today, so that might give some competition. Also, most reports about the movie tend to downplay the negative reaction anyway while speaking about the high rating by critics. So most people seeing it for the first time will likely not be persuaded to not see it.

So overall, I think it won't be a surprise if TLJ will continue to do reasonably well in the box office for a few weeks.

The real question is whether TLJ is actually a good movie. Once people have seen it, they will remember it if its a bad movie. That will be reflected in the ratings of the movie. If it is bad enough (which I honestly think it is), it will most likely also be reflected in the disc sales of the movie.

Some people will likely give Star Wars another go when episode IX comes along, but that is likely when we will see the real repercussions of TLJ in the box office.

    It's also a travel weekend.

Although I just got out of my 3rd showing and it was a packed house except for the front row where there was only 1 person (who looked like Kylo Ren, I swear).

Similar for me Wednesday at 3pm... front row was empty but no Kylo Ren. You should have yelled, "Adam" to see if he looked.

I bet more people see Episode 9 because it's the finale in the trilogy. But this may be different knowing Disney will keep cranking out movies.

Now your forcing a square peg down a round hole. You're either a Mary Sue, which means you match the criteria, or your not. At some things she is extremely good, but the lifting of rocks is a thing she could only do because of Luke's prior training and insights he offered. That's why she repeated the same line.

As for the 'murdering in his sleep' part. Luke went in to confront Kylo. Kylo was asleep. As Luke says "for a moment it crossed my mind to end it all" after he had seen what was going on in Kylo's mind and what was going to happen in the future. Luke wasn't standing and waiting until Kylo was falling asleep to murder him. Thought "how to end it all" crossed his mind for a snap second. He didn't kill Kylo, but was ashamed of the thought and its eventual consequences.

That was very funny. Basically sums it up. What more can you say.

The Last Jedi is trending close to my 60% drop prediction. Christmas Eve falls on a Sunday this year so it's making this weekend difficult to project. It's still way ahead of Rogue One and behind The Force Awakens. So basically where everyone expected.
