You do seem to know someone in the know about the trailers though. You said we are in for big things as far as teaser trailer goes, so I would like to know what you may have heard. Even if it isn't accurate.

I can't say too much yet. Sometimes the guy I know is one of but a handful of people who know certain details. So I can't talk too much about it until I know for sure that it won't screw him.

I can say that I have heard about 2 concepts 1 is full of nostalgia much like the Chewie were home trailer from TFA. The other is full of emotion and tension and sounds pretty dark in tone.

Let me also say before I get a bunch of DMs and questions. I'm not looking to break any stories or leak info. I just happen to have worked with a few people a few years ago who now are in the positions of knowing things from time to time. Just a guy who likes starwars and likes to discuss things.

I'd say we are past the point of nostalgia. Star Wars needs to move forward, focusing on what is new!

I would say that the BTS video that this site reported would debut on Thursday is the perfect way to push the nostalgia buttons and honor CF. It can also show off some of the creatures and funky costumes without "spoiling" their context.

The trailer dropping on Friday can show off the tension and higher stakes of the film, as well as include some landscape shots.

The BTS primes the pump and gets attention for being the first public footage. 24 hours later the first trailer (I'm guessing a 1:45-2:00 minute trailer/teaser much like RO's first teaser and the second TFA teaser) hits the internet and 25% of the country spends their Friday afternoon doldrums at work watching the trailer and forwarding it.)

Since Friday night/Saturday morning is such a wasteland for news and anything with broad appeal that lacks controversy, you'll see extra heavy coverage from sites like theringer.com, slate.com, etc. that have given significant attention to the last two SW films throughout their promotional campaigns.

True... but they now have to deal with the loss of Carrie Fisher and the introduction of Luke Skywalker. So I think from a creative and marketing stand point it would make sense to go that direction on the first teaser.

I think he meant "friday" as in Friday the 14th at the TLJ panel.
