Hum... You are probably right. The Force surronds everything, the tree, the rock, the bowel movement.

I think the 'Force Tree' will feature. There was a track on the ESB soundtrack called 'The magic Tree' which if i remember correctly was the tree that grew above the cave Luke ventured into to confront Vader, the dream battle thing. I assume the 'Force Tree' in EpVIII will serve the same purpose with Rey touching it (as she did with the skywalker saber) and having a vision/learning something...
I don't think it will be called a 'Force Tree' as such, but I think it will be the same as the ESB cave/tree and be a conduit for force visions and leanings. Dagobah was full of force energy, the cave especially so. I think this is a beat from ESB that they will mirror in VIII.
And as long as there is no explanation (ala midiclorians) and its kept mysterious, like the ESB cave I think it will fit in perfectly....maybe we'll even get a vision of Snoke from the old tree.

I could see "force tree" being brought up in VIII in the sense that Luke shows Rey why he went looking for the first Jedi temple and what he found. Perhaps the big tree shown in the set pictures is the last known force tree and Ahch-to was indeed the place of force sanctuary Luke had hoped it would be. I don't see anything wrong with that and they dont really have to go much more in detail with it. Just one of the many tools Luke introduces Rey to in order to get her to see the big picture with the force and how it is in everything.

Maybe the tree is used as a methaphor. Luke is lazy and uses an old tree trunk standing just there to teach Rey a lesson... Could have been a Force rock, a Force fish or a Force sheep.

How very GoT . . . but yes, I am of the opinion that the tree will serve a very similar purpose as the to the tree/cave from V.

The TPM novelization explains the origin of the Sith as follows: "A rogue Jedi Knight had founded the Sith, a singular dissident in an order of harmonious followers, a rebel who understood from the beginning that the real power of the Force lay not in the light, but in the dark. Failing to gain approval for his beliefs from the Council, he had broken with the order, departing with his knowledge and his skills, swearing in secret that he would bring down those who had dismissed him.

He was alone at first, but others from the Jedi order who believed as he did and who had followed him in his study of the dark side soon came over."

Maybe the first Jedi Temple is where that happened and Luke and Rey can gain insight into how to prevent Jedi from falling to the dark side in the future? The tree could be the first Jedi Temple.

Novelizations before TFA aren't canon, but hey, anything is possible these days.

I've wondered about that myself. The Sith originated from the Jedi. So, this being the first Jedi Temple, is this where the Sith started?

    Pablo Hidalgo, Lucasfilm Story Group:
    • "[Though the books aren't canon, can we assume that generally what happened in Darth Bane happened in new canon?] The description of Bane's history that's in the Ep I novel is the most solid as that came from George Lucas." (December 26, 2015)
    • "[We all know that Bane is canon, but: Is his book trilogy canon too or just the character?] Bane came from George, who told Terry Brooks about him for the Ep I novel. The screen version of him is in Clone Wars." (March 29, 2016)
    • "[The Sith did not form at the same time as the Jedi, at least in Legends?] George's definition was that the Sith were started by a renegade Jedi." (April 6, 2016) "It was originally 2000 years ago, but in TCW that started to get older." (April 6, 2016) "It's [in] the Ep I novel. George offered info to Terry Brooks on the Sith backstory." (April 6, 2016) "Yeah [it's canon], but with my caveat I posted earlier. The timeline grew by the time he got into TCW." (April 6, 2016) "[Reference] [Darth] Ruin was a name retroactively applied to the unnamed Jedi George described." (April 6, 2016) "[I thought that Ajunta Pall was the name given to the rogue Jedi retroactively?] I can't recall all that deep, obscure Legends stuff without a cheat-sheet." (April 6, 2016) "[So that Jedi is canon? And his name is Darth Ruin?] Nah. But there had to be a first. We just don't know the details." (April 6, 2016)

In interviews at the time, Lucas said "thousands of years ago." My guess is that Lucas told Terry Brooks " thousands of years ago" and Brooks interpreted that as "almost two thousand years."

I like the idea that the Jedi had no awareness of the light and dark sides before the Sith formed.

Then the novelization goes on how Darth Bane survived and reinvented the Sith Order with the rule of two.

And more recently Maul showed up in Star Wars Rebels, still sort of a historian of the Sith.

Marvel's Shattered Empire - Luke gives one of the trees to Shara Bey, Poe's mother. "I didn't think there would be two trees. One of them is spoken for, obviously... But I'd like it if the other one found a good home..."

This whole reincarnation theory and the force tree seems plausable. Not sure if that will be in fact in VIII or not,but if you take into consideration of Palpatine telling Anakin basically how they both can discover to cheat death together; plus Qui gon,Yoda, and Obi Wan learn to become force ghosts then anything is possible.

Let's say the story about the boy and girl is true, her brother killed her she brings herself back over and over. She was Anakin and now she is Rey and maybe she has been many people before.

Maybe Luke was waiting on the next chosen one. He was told it would happen. When they meet he seems quite stunned, imo. The reason the light sabre is attracted to her is because it is bring back to her rememberence of who she is.

Maybe the chosen one is always coming back in one way or the other to bring balance. The chosen is many people.

In a way she is a Skywalker, connected just not in way we think.

I'm not saying this will happen,or what I want, or this is all fact. And it all sounds a bit to much like the Matrix, but interesting at least

    Didn't say I agreed with it. I don't know.

What is the point of force ghosts if Luke needs to be the one passing along the knowledge? They passed it on to him just fine. But tells him to do it. Kind contradictory.
