My sister's daughter's were frightened by the blaster fire from TPM, so she asked me to watch something else. It's on the discretion of the parent. Some parents don't pay attention to ratings which is irresponsible, so I commend all that do.

5 year olds that play Call of Duty is awful, be advised, adults chastise young players during multiplayer sessions in the most vulgar way when they play such games. It's demeaning.

As he will need almost one year to learn to properly speak german, and understand the dialogues, it's quite a good investment.

    Erm...
D'you think I'll be able to resell the german disc, later, in order to come back to french, once he gets 13 yo ? :D

They've watched ROTS and I don't remember them mention anything about it. However, they usually ask to watch the OT, when they ask about Star Wars. I know parts of it are dark, like Vader killing the younglings (which wasn't actually shown) and getting burnt. I haven't watched Andor yet, but I'm hearing that there's bad language (the S word) and a visit to a brothel. Both of those make it problematic for me. It's already done so I won't argue about it. I just wish they hadn't veered into "adults only" territory. I know we can just not watch it, but I'm certain as soon as we open Disney+, Andor is going to be splashed everywhere. It's not like I can keep them from knowing about it. Now I have to deal with, "Yes, there's a new Star Wars show, but you can't watch it".

Rest easy. It's presented innocuously IMO.

One of the scenes I want to show to my son, because I spoke him about the Order 66 at the beginning of the ObiWan Kenobi series, and what Anakin/Vader did to the younglings.

    @Darth Derringer is true.
Only adults will understand what is actually happening on screen. Personnaly, I understood the brothel thing only in my 2nd viewing...
Then the "Red Quarter of Amsterdam" thing will appear to you. Until there, it was just a cool street with exotic creatures moving and dancing behind big glass bulbs...
There is nothing of an obvious sexuality - I mean, no words, no "things". Only an adult will decode the gesture and the spoken words, to finally understand we are in a brothel. A kid won't see anything : we are in a random bar, like the one in AOTC when Anakin&Obi are poursuing Zam, or Jettster Dexter's dinner club, or the Chalmun's cantina in Tatooine.
For the 'S' word, it comes naturally, with no particuliar emphasis. It fits with the one who pronunces it, and the current situation.

It definitely no more problematic than when Kevin runs a gauntlet of street walkers in Home Alone 2 : Lost In New York.

Besides. Any kid under the age of 12 is probably bored already and doesn't care who Cassian is talking to or where he is by that stage.

I watched the first episode alone. I am pretty certain my kids won't understand most of it. Partly because Cassian only speaks in low mumbles and with a thick accent, and because almost everyone else speaks with accents and seem to talk in vague terms about "stuff". I've heard some very good stuff, so I'll watch some more, but only because of feedback from others about the rest of the episodes. If I were only going by this one episode, I would probably skip this series. There wasn't anything in it that compelled me to watch more.

Exactly. Actually, upon reflection, I thought it was a rather clever way for the series to subtly announce "this is a more mature Star Wars sci-fi fantasy" instead of hitting us over the head with it the way Game of Thrones did when it defied the traditional sword & sorcery approach to story-telling.

Here is the Cruachan reservoir where the heist is due to take place. Looking rather Hoth like.

I agree, this series is actually a new star wars. We have never seen nothing like this in Star Wars.
This is why the serie may not please the long-time SW fan who are used to jedis and lightsabers and force power exhibits.
But this is also exactly why a long-time SW fan should watch it : because it really is a new SW in SW.

Bothan spies smuggled the photo out from Aldhani for me. ;)

I got the picture of the reservoir from google and stuck the vehicles in myself. Pretty poorly, I must admit @daRinze

The dark side of the force is a pathway to many abilities....

.... some consider to be unnatural.

    Good job, however ;)

I loved Solo and Rogue One. I don't require force users or lightsabers. Heck, even ANH was light on force stuff. Something about this show just doesn't click with me. Tony Gilroy said he wanted to have no fan service, but he's made it almost unrecognizable as the Star Wars universe. There's nothing familiar. How is it that certain types of droids (R2s, protocol, others) are present in every part of the galaxy except where Andor takes place?

Also, why have a substitute Empire in the form of that security company instead of just start with the Empire? It feels like intentional distancing from traditional Star Wars, which some may welcome, but I'm not a fan of. There are still more episodes, so I may change my mind.

Anyone else finding that they have to turn on subtitles for Andor? A smorgasbord of accents and terminology that is unfamiliar even to hardcore fans make this show quite challenging for me.

Some fans complain about too much 'fan service' and others complain there's not enough. Goes to show that you can't please everyone.

I live in the North West area of the UK, not far from this seafront cafe in a town called Cleveleys. I went up on the motorbike a few weeks ago and took these. Diego Luna and the Andor cast and crew were here last year shooting scenes for Andor, so it's one to look out for. It was dressed with all the Star Wars greebles to make it look more sci-fi. Link to story about filming in the Blackpool Gazette at the bottom.

I'm really liking Andor so far. None of the silliness from some other recent Star Wars outings. Gritty and dark with a more serious feel to it. Best stuff since Rogue One

A friend of mine said that Andor is what Star Wars would be like if the BBC made it. So I took it upon myself to imagine what that would have looked like. The second of the two which look like duplicates is actually the bumper for the omnibus edition aired on BBC1 over the weekend after the successful initial run on BBC2 on Thursday nights. What's the next known face to be introduced in this show ?

    - someone from the Jeddah family : Saw Gerrera, immediately followed (or preceded) by Benthic (or Edrio) (or both) Two Tubes. and, or, Moroff, and, or Bor Gullet (lol)
    - someone from the Alderaan family : Bail Organa
    - someone from the Rebellion Headquarters family : General Dravits Draven (I first thought Luthen was him undercover)
    - someone from the Jedi family : Ahsoka
    - someone from the Rebels family : General Syndulla, Kanan Jarrus, Ezra...
    - some droid : K2-SO, Chopper...

This is not an official gamble, so no need to tag Wuher :D ahah
