I have loved TLJ and like the Luke portrayed in Sequels. My main gripe in this case is with Obi-wan, while the story was good, the delivery was a bit lackluster with some incredibly bad looking scenes. With Book Of Boba Fett, again, I have liked the story, but had some issues with pacing, some creative decisions and then comes in Mandalorian and somewhat the action is back, Boba being cut and the format feeling different. I was hoping to see more of Boba for the whole series. It’s like they go full out with Mandalorian and Andor, but when the series relies heavily or is about legacy characters, something in production happens.
Obi-wan looks incredibly cheap, like they had to go on low budget. To me, it’s the worst series they made and it pains me a lot.
I can imagine even Rise Of Skywalker being a lot better if they took the time and didn’t push on the release date.

    https://www.rollingstone.com/tv-mov...-season-1-finale-season-2-preview-1234626573/

Extense and very interesing interview with Gilroy.
Beware, may contain SPOILERS for the first 10 episodes.

Gosh, I love this guy even more.
    Love this response.

"Interviewer: The show really caught on fire starting in Episodes Four and Five. As you know, I enjoyed the first three as well, but Rolling Stone’s TV critic, Alan Sepinwall, spoke for some viewers when he wrote that from his perspective, you were insufficiently attuned to making each episode stand on its own, even within the larger story you were telling. I guess part of it is that for him, it started slowly. I’m just curious about what you think of that line of criticism.

Tony Gilroy: Oh, I don’t even think it’s an argument! He’s gonna have to get with the program. [Laughs]

That’s some old $%/*, man. Everything, all of this $%/* is new, which is just really fascinating, to be at the frontier of this new kind of storytelling, this new kind of scale. I heard that [comment] along the way, even when we brought the episodes in [to Lucasfilm and Disney].

I don’t wanna piss this guy off, obviously, but I wonder if he feels the same way now, because do you really think that you will be able to appreciate what happened in Episodes Eight, Nine, and 10 as much without knowing what happened back in Episodes One, Two, and Three?"

There's some really great interviews with Tony coming out lately. I love his attitude about everything. I'm gaining even more appreciation for him as a creator.

I thought it was a genius move for Disney/Lucasfilm to announce that Andor will air on ABC, FX, Freemform, and Hulu this month. I predict the series will take on a new life once it's open to more casual TV viewers versus the Star Wars super-fans you're more likely to find on Disney+.

This series is going to surprise a lot of those audiences.

It's a good thought, but I am not sure it's enough as it's only the first two episodes, right? I know its marketing and a way to attract new viewers / fans / subscribers, but we have D+ and my wife (slightly more than a casual fan) didn't even stick around after 2 episodes. That being said, I can guarantee she would be hooked after catching up now and seeing how things have really ramped up!

That's the first thing I thought when I saw the news. Here is a very well-done intriguing thriller that Lucasfilm should be proud of, and it can stand on it's own aside from being "A Star Wars Story" It absolutely deserves more attention and consideration for awards and critical acclaim. Show it off!!

So why was I even surprised when the next 3 articles I saw about it were smarmy and negative, framing it as 'Disney+ is desperately begging people to watch this unpopular, disappointing series...' 'Disney is so upset about low demand that they're willing to give it away...' WTF?
I'm excited to tell my non-SW friends and family to check it out, and I bet Disney+ subscriptions perk up as a result.

Yeah, that all gets pretty tiresome. Especially when thats all that casual viewers hear about it. Star Wars isn't the independent franchise it used to be now that Disney owns it, and Disney will always have a huge target on its back. They always want to see the big guy fall. Plus, hate sells better than love, unfortunately....

OK let's talk about the elephant in the room here.

Have you seen the internet EXPLOSION over ANDOR?

IMDB for Ep 10 is closing in on 10,000 ratings at an avg 9.6. Go to the IMDB page for Ep 10 and read the comment section. Probably hundreds of positive, heartfelt comments about the series.

Rotten Tomatoes seems to be lagging a bit and I can't tell how many audience votes it has but for critics it is at 93% fresh

I think it is amazing, personally, as you have to admit there was not a lot of buzz about this series when it was announced.

Thank you Tony Gilroy and team. Wow.

It's only going to grow. The genius decision to put the show on ABC and Hulu will add to its popularity AND bring new Star Wars fans into the fold.

Yeah, I find it hard to argue that 10 is one of, if not the best episode. You've gotta look at the timing also. I've seen a few interviews with Tony G about the last minute delay for the premiere and not wanting to compete with Dragons and Orcs...I think when all is said and done, Andor will be the big series of the Fall, possibly the year.

I haven't noticed, but I'm assuming they will do a pretty good bit of advertising for those showings...

"Be a fan" leads to "watch",
    "Watch" leads to "interpretate",
"Interpretate" leads to "flamewar on the Cantina"
"Flamewar on the Cantina" leads to "suffering".

@daRinze My friend, we've been on this here Cantina for many many years....you predate me by a couple. You have nailed the progression of the typical SW fan who stumbles into the Cantina here and sticks around....Awesome!!! Love it!!!

Unfortunately, that is not Clancy Brown, but Neil Bell (playing a character called Time Grappler).

I found it amusing that the actor's name is "Bell" I wonder if that is why someone thought about him for the role? :D

Nominative determinism. Happens remarkably often. e.g. Luke Skywalker :p

Since the first season of 'Andor' is done, I have to say this show is easily the best Star Wars TV series and probably the best Star Wars content we've gotten since ROTJ.

This show isn't just a good Star Wars show, it's a good show in general. I really enjoyed that the show took the time and developed its characters. It built up this certain mood of importance.

It's also great to see an aspect of Star Wars we have never seen before- the inner life and politics of the Empire. It's nice to have this compared to how the Rebellion works.

One of the greatest and boldest decisions of this series is definitely to not rely on fanserivce. There is no appearance of any legacy character or something like that. The story and its characters are in focus, nothing more and nothing less.

I also have to praise the technical side of this show. You can see the creators have done movies and shows before. Scenes are masterfully structured, the cinematography looks great and the soundtrack is nice to listen to.

The visuals are stunning. Yeah, the Volume is a nice piece of technolgy, but it's nothing compared with real sets and locations. 'Andor' clarified this quite well.

Tony Gilroy and his team clearly had a vision and a plan for this show. 9/10
