    Seriously, what the hell?
I've said from the start that good and evil exist together. In everyone.
Your point is that it's equally opposed Jedi and Sith. Or their power or something?

I've expanded on this over the last four pages. Jeez.

Balance is the equality of good and evil in the universe. Everything in between is grey.
The Jedi maintain this balance by putting out any fires that start up across the galaxy.
When the Sith emerge, they spread evil everywhere. They have the power to do that.
This means that the light is diminished and the dark side takes over:
Kenobi: "...bring balance to the Force, not leave it in darkness!".
So the Jedi then have to find a way to destroy the Sith and when they do that evil is diminished and equals out with the light again.

your just fu&k with me now surly?
you don't see any contradiction in what you are saying.

your actually trying to change the meaning of your own words?

to diminish evil into none existence (putting out the fire) as you say,
how is that balancing the EQUAL as in "Balance is the equality of good and evil"
do you even know what you are saying? lol

balance is not when there is no evil.

it is when the two sides are equally opposed.

My god, can you not read? I have said from the start that good and evil exist together.
The Jedi just stop EVIL FROM TAKING OVER.
If the Jedi are called to stop some dispute they are not destroying the evil, they are simply stopping it from taking over.
They bring peace. BUT THAT DOES NOT ERADICATE EVIL IN THE UNIVERSE.
That would be impossible. Good and evil can only exist together.

My point has always been that good and evil exist but the Sith come along AND EMPOWER THE EVIL.
The spread it everywhere. JUST READ MY POSTS!

You point is something about balance = Jedi and Sith in equal opposition, but not in terms of numbers but the power they wield? Yes or no?
You point was that the Jedi caused imbalance.
Your point was that the Sith are only evil from a certain POV.

It's all in writing. If anyone doesn't know what they have said, it is you!

P.s. You do understand that diminished doesn't mean destroyed right?
    It means made smaller, reduced...

    No my point is this

There is no good or evil. just perspective (point of view)

The force is in balance when equally opposed

That is, all aspects of it are represented.

as a good or evil concept, neither can ever maintain balance, with out BOTH being present.

so a prophecy of Balance can only mean when each polar opposite is equally balanced.

    @master_shaitan

no my point wasn't that the Jedi DO cause imbalance but CAN cause imbalance.
    --- Double Post Merged, Feb 2, 2016 ---
as no one lays ultimate claim to GOOD or EVIL it is only ever judged perspectively, every one can be destructive or maybe disruptive is a better word, to the balance

So the Sith destroying Alderaan isn't evil?

    Expand.

    Explain further.
Are you saying simply that good and evil must exist equally for balance?
OR The Jedi and Sith must exist with equal usage of the Force for there to be balance? Because that is what you said before.

How is balance restored? Do you agree that the Jedi restore balance when they destroy the Sith?
    --- Double Post Merged, Feb 2, 2016, Original Post Date: Feb 2, 2016 ---
Which is where you are wrong.
How and when are the Jedi shown to cause imbalance? How did the Jedi cause imbalance in the PT when it is obviously unbalanced in favour of the Dark Side? How can it be unbalanced both ways? If it was unbalanced in favour of the Jedi why were their powers diminished?

And again, perspective - are you saying that the Sith were not evil?

You need to grasp that because some people think that evil actions are right, it doesn't make them right! It just means their perspective is fu**** up.

    ok one at a time.

To the sith, no, and the empire, and all the empires allies, who were the majority at the time, (a resistance is only a resistance when they are over whelmed.)
so no, to the majority of the universe NO.

Firstly I am not asking about the perspective of those who are obviously evil. I am asking you, is it an evil act?
Secondly, do you honestly believe the majority of the universe supported the Empire? And would say that destroying a planet wasn't evil?

As you would put it - lol.

no look through the last discussion
you said the jedi could not upset the balance, so they discussion was framed in a way to address this issue.

if there is only good, evil will arise. (as in the Sith were born of the Jedi)
if there is only evil, good will always be brewing. its natures way.

    day follows night follows day.

there is only ever true balance when the force is equally opposed.

    beyond good and evil.

there really is no yes and no answer to this, its kinda what where discussing no?
i guess at a push i would say there is only perspective.

Right, so you're saying that the Jedi cause imbalance and the Sith cause imbalance. But when they're equal there is balance?
    You're wrong.

There isn't ever ONLY good or ONLY evil.
Both always exist, irrespective of the Jedi and Sith. No Jedi and no Sith = good and evil still exist. The balance can still be unbalanced by someone/a group but it is harder to do without being a powerful Force user.

When the Sith are around they spread evil everywhere. They unbalance the Force.
When only the Jedi are around they maintain the balance of good and evil.
When the Jedi and Sith are around they battle it out, but the Sith cause imbalance until they are wiped out by the Jedi.

your using the jedi to represent good
and the sith to represent evil?
    --- Double Post Merged, Feb 2, 2016, Original Post Date: Feb 2, 2016 ---
but at the same time saying good and evil cant exist independent of each other
    --- Double Post Merged, Feb 2, 2016 ---
then saying when the jedi == good wipe out the sith == bad, balance is restored?
    --- Double Post Merged, Feb 2, 2016 ---
    it doesn't make sense?

    You're really confusing me here.

The Jedi are good. They fight for the good of the galaxy. They seek to stop evil taking over.
The Sith are evil. They fight to empower themselves. They use evil to take over.

    That's what they do.

Good and evil always exists in the galaxy - irrespective of the Jedi and Sith. Good and evil is IN US ALL.
People have to decide whether to do good or evil.
    The Jedi do good.
    The Sith do evil.
Normal folk do good and evil.

But I am not really sure what you are asking.

The Jedi are good and they wipe out the people (Sith) who spread evil/bad - they don't wipe out all evil/bad by doing this - just those who empower the bad so there is more of that than good in the galaxy.

good and evil in your terms has to be manifested, I'm not sure what your distinction is.
you are saying good manifests itself in the form of the jedi?
    and evil in the sith.

The force is neutral, can be drawn on from all perspectives with out prejudice.

simply put, if to much of any side, it goes out of balance
    --- Double Post Merged, Feb 2, 2016 ---
the point we were discussing was Balance is disrupted when there is to much evil

No. Good and evil is in every intelligent being across the galaxy. Not just the Jedi and Sith.
    All life creates the Force.
When the Sith spread evil by doing evil it impacts upon all life - which in turn is creating the Force.
So when people are suffering they add to the Dark Side.
So the Force is unbalanced by the Dark Side taking over the light rather than being equal.

That is what the Sith do.
The Jedi destroy the bad guys and good and evil are equal.

    1. there is no good or evil
    2. you are using jedi as archetypal good guys and sith as archetypal bad guys
    3. balance can be disrupted by either side, because good or evil in these terms is not absolute. to Sith, Jedi are evil and vice versa.

the prophesy of the chosen one means.

balance was brought in the form of anikins bloodline.
because balance can never be maintained beyond equally opposed sides represented.
anikin upset the balance jedi - sith
    luke upset the balance
now kylo ren is upsetting the balance

    Disagree with every word.

    Answer me this.

    1. If there is no good or evil, does that mean there is no morality? Is anything permissible? Was Hitler evil?
    2. Are you saying the Jedi aren't good and the Sith aren't evil?
    3. What do the Jedi do that is evil? And what good do the Sith do?

You don't honestly believe this do you? You're messing with me, right?

    one question
if you grew up a sith would you think the jedi were good?
you would be indoctrinated into the believe of the society you live.

in this discussions terms your concept of good and bad are subject to gradation and perspective

    This. Again. Jeez.

No. I would think they were evil. Probably.

But I WOULD BE WRONG! I would've been brainwashed! And my perspective would be misguided because it would be based on my own greed, hatred, anger, lust for power - all the passions that a Sith cultivates.

If I butcher a billion people, I am evil. No if's. No but's. And if I don't know it, most others will. And it will be felt in the Force. Because the suffering I would cause would be huge. And that's the point about perspective. If you are evil, but you think you are good, you are still evil. Your actions are still evil. And in the SW universe they imbalance the Force - irrespective about your deluded point of view.
