THE KILLING OF A SACRED DEER:

From Yorgos Lanthimos, director of THE LOBSTER. Holy hell what a film. Not a top 10 for me, but I feel like it did so much that mother! tried to do but actually did it well. It makes you uncomfortable. It makes you think. It sticks on you, in a way that almost makes you feel dirty but in a good way. It's a lot take in and won't hit for everything. It's beautifully made (snickers), well paced and so uniquely presented.

If you are fan of well done, not completely self absorbed art films, this is for you.

Murder on the Orient Express (2017) a good film though KB was a bit too KB as Hercule Poirot. It's a bit more action packed then the 74 version something I'm not sure it needed. But overall I enjoyed it & probably my favourite performance was MP.

Logan Lucky (Driver is great in it, by the way).

Rounding out our Star Wars chronological marathon with The Force Awakens tonight, then seeing The Last Jedi tomorrow!

@Rogues1138 Exactly my sentiments.....you are not emotionally invested in Aquaman or Flash or Cyborg. Batman and WW and Superman definitely. Did not think that DC may think they are rushed to keep pace with the MCU. After IW second movie is over in 2019 where does thr MCU go next???

American Assassin - Revenge and action, hurting and killing. No...it wasn't John Wick and it tried to kind of be that in ways and it did it just not as well.

Well for one, I'm hoping Disney gets a hold of the X-men and the Fantastic 4 characters from Fox moving forward; Disney/Marvel already have 20 films on their slate, unlike WB/DC most of those Marvel films will see the light of day. WB/DC's slate is complete and utter BS. They're just announcing films; according to their track record, we might not see 1/3 of the films they are slated to release. Disney/Marvel's future looks optimistic, unfortunately WB/DC for the most part is up in the air, for example what the heck is going on with MOS2? Is Affleck still staying on as Batman? What's up with the Cyborg, Flash, or Green Lantern Corp., DC announced numerous Joker film as well... DC fans have only one option, which is to hope things get better. Zack Snyder is out, the execs at WB are a bunch of blind mice, no real leadership, they demoted Geoff Johns. They are in desperate need of a Kevin Feige.

Ragnarok for the fifth time now.
Yeah, it's pretty much my favorite movie of the year, but that might change once I see TLJ.

BATTLE OF THE SEXES - Meh city. Boring. Tennis just isn't exciting as a spot on film. They really try building up the drama outside of the main event but the most compelling part of it is the alleged fixing of the match by Riggs. They don't really go there outside of Riggs' gambling issues. I know that would really undercut the legend of King and the theme of the film but it's a legitimate criticism of the match and should have been a key dramatic theme.
