I apologize if you feel my joke insulted you but please refrain from negbombing people who disagree with your theories. Your idea is at least original even if I disagree with it

As in....walk out of theater and get some popcorn material, but this movie is going off the rails on the crazy train...and it's going to be AWE-SOME. At that point, anything's possible. Hell, Snoke could be the Supreme Leader of the Jawas.

SPOILER/Speculation from Aftermath: I read an early review of Aftermath online that was just embargoed. http://old.videoeta.com/news/4876 You can read the original article using the Google "cached" option.

The reviewer mentions that at the end of the book (last 30 min of the audiobook) there is a character introduced on Jakku named Corwin which he speculated could be a character in TFA. I believe someone said in the comments (which I don't see in the cached version) that this could be MVS's character. The reviewer didn't give any more details about the character, so I don't know if it fits with what we know of MVS and the Vicar.

    Cached version: http://webcache.googleusercontent.c...eoeta.com/news/4876+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us

PS: Unrelated Spoilers/Speculations from the article --
I noticed that he mentions a bounty hunter working with the New Republic he calls "Maze". He listened to the audiobook, so could the character actually be Maz! Interesting given the MSW Flashback description including Maz possibly looting a battlefield. Could also explain how Han knows her.
He also mentions a possible Boba Fett reference. I don't know if he means the shadowy character that he speculates will be the antagonist of the next book, or a separate reference.

"Corwin" most likely refers to "Gorwyn", a name that was actually included as production code.

Could be. I forgot to apply the "audiobook effect" to "Corwin." Isn't Gorwyn speculated to be Greg Grunberg's character name? So this would have to be his father considering the timeline.

I don't think there's any hard proof that "Gorwyn" is Greg Grunberg. If anything, this sounds like it might be Max Von Sydow's character.

He might have been, but it's worth noting that "Gorwyn" was a coded name in the first place.

From someone on Reddit that read the book (can't find if he read it or listened). "Corwin shows up on Jakku at a bar in an interlude chapter. He came to Jakku because he wanted to get as far from the fighting as he could. Seems like his family's dead and he's just trying to get away."

I found another review which refers to the character as Corwin Ballast - seems to me like the reviewer "read" rather than "listened" too.

I'd say there's a reasonable case for thinking Corwin (presuming you believe in the shooting schedule info) could be the character codenamed "Vicar", and in turn would most likely have to be played by someone near to Max Von Sydow's age to fit the bill (ie have been married, had kids, lost them both and become jaded by the conflict 30 years before the events of TFA)...

I mean, an elder in a humble village community on the edge of the outer rim sounds like a guy who wanted to get away from it all. And yet he was in the thick of it back when all the conflict was going on too, so it is also possible he had connections with certain people in the Senate all those years ago...

A bartender in the scene mentions that Corwin could take anchorite vows (real world religious hermits and also what the Father said he and his family did on Mortis - "Therefore, it was necessary to withdraw from the temporal world and live here as anchorites."). The bartender dismisses the idea as he doesn't see that fitting Corwin. This could be a hint that he does become the "Vicar" of a secluded monk-like order.
Also, while not a big clue, Corwin calls the rough, scarred bartender "my good man" which I could see an MVS type character saying.

Yep. My favorite role of his is Ming The Merciless in Flash Gordon. He was simply brilliant and over the top.

I really don't think he is Boba. The cybernetic thing has pretty much been disproven, I believe, by the S7N crew. I think he is Corwin. However...

We know from Aftermath that his acid pitted armor is recovered on Tatooine. So it is pretty clear he is coming back to post ROTJ canon in some capacity.

He can't be Boba Fett because people here spent 5 pages of forum space telling me how that was a massive violation of "canon" from the cartoon. I got bludgeoned for this very idea and I think I got down voted 10 times for even suggesting it.

Also my Lobot theory is so much cooler, why doesn't this brand just get it over with and let me control it for the next 10 years? I'd take it to heights Bob Iger only dreams of in his satin sheets and crushed cotton pajamas.

    :)

This "could" be true, but I doubt it. Here's why:

Boba Fett is one of the SW franchises' most beloved characters and his "incidental" death during the first act of RotJ in 1983 (32 years ago) both disappointed and annoyed many fans. Boba may have had his back-story fleshed-out during the PT, but even this served only to fuel opinions that Boba remained a wasted and under-realised character.

To bring Boba back in TFA (32 years later) and kill him in the first act wouldn't help this situation. It's possible his character could be given a heroic send off, but would fans really be satisfied with a reappearance that ends so soon -- and would an octaganarian Boba really be a reappearance at all when what fans want is to see the galaxy's coolest bounty hunter in action and at his prime?

We have an anthology film in the work (so we're told) and I think that's where Boba will stay, and probably belongs. I for one don't want to see "the Fett" appear and die at the start of a movie (again), particularly if I won't even know it's him until some fan-service revelation later in the movie. Sorry, until it's confirmed I'm remaining sceptical....
