    I agree. I don't think he is someone we already know that went undercover.
    I just wonder if he is a character that, because of his age, had witnessed the Clone Wars and the Empire days and gives Poe a speech about those troubled times and that is on Poe's generation to make things right.
    People are trying to make relations between new characters and characters we already know, but we must keep in mind that are new movies coming out. I bet Maz Kanata will appear on Han Solo's Anthology movie. Maybe a young Lor San Tekka can appear too in one of those, and probably with a more important role. New characters are needed to act like a bridge between movies. Max Von Sydow's character might be one of those.

    P.S.: I'm only talking about movie characters because, as we know from experience, movie characters seem to inspire comic/novel/cartoon storylines and not the opposite.

    He's old Luke - Lor=Luke, San=Sky, Tekka=Walker. Sixty years after ROTJ, Kylo's home Cloud City with all it's inhabitants(including his family) is destroyed when a lightsaber, that has been gradually travelling into the gas giant, ignites Bespins core. The resulting explosion causes a supernova and creates a temporal(or temple) black hole which sucks. Kylo - who had been mining his own business - and old Luke - now a resident of the nearby Cloud Cuckoo City - get caught up in this abomination. Kylo travels 61 years into the past where he is picked up by Darth Vader. Vader, noting his anger and high midichlorian count, takes him on as his secret apprentice. After a year, the emperor discover's Vaders apprentice and orders him to be killed, Vader seemingly complies but really freezes Kylo in carbonite. Twenty years after ROTJ the FO discover and release Kylo. Meanwhile old Luke, whose ship entered the TBH a few minutes after Kylo, travels only 30 years into the past...

    I've been thinking over the recent leak about 'the Church of the Force' and how it links to LST. Aside from explaining his production codename of the 'Vicar' it seems to add some deeper texture to the way the Force was seen in the OT and potentially the PT. I may be adding some interpretation here, but from the tenor of that blurb it almost sounds like a cult or fringe religion (sounds familiar?) which gives context to Han's cynicism in ANH as well as reinforcing the mystical reading of the Force as a lost artefact from a more civilised age. From what I'm seeing and reading there are some really exciting 'meta' elements to this film it'll be fascinating to see how they play out... roll on Thursday!
