A little confused on your wording....

Yes, it would most likely invalidate a lot of what I have said, but I'm confident in what I have been told. At least I'm confident that I've not been lied to; but if Ridley is not Luke's apprentice, then I was lied to.

If I end up wrong about anything I have posted I will admit it, but again, I'm pretty sure Luke is Luke, and Daisy's backstory is she was once Luke's apprentice before he disappeared.

 

You mentioned Luke having little screen time, which makes sense given the talk of how big Han's role is. So what you've put forward fits with a search for Luke or 'mystery character' that culminates in the reveal of Luke in the throne room scene, part man, part machine... Cliffhanger ending... Is he the new Vader?

JJ is going to get so much hate for this, at first. Messing with the golden boy of Star Wars is sacrilege. But with great risk there could be great reward. Remember, change is good. An ending like the aforementioned would have to be seen to be believed. That's the point, and it would serve two other purposes:

-create insane demand for an Episode VIII filled with answers

-create interest in the 30 years that led up to Luke becoming this... This thing; imagine at least one film in the future starring someone else as a middle aged Luke...

Also, side note, none of us doubt what your source has told you, Kyle, or Viral. The question is whether what they told you is accurate. We don't shoot the messengers, etc.

Spectacle is being very forthcoming and direct. Plus, he mentioned a Kraft sponsorship deal (news to all), which should appear soonish. That's not in line with a typical troll simply out for attention.

 

Another theory of mine:

Luke was to start training Ridley at a very young age. Luke's family was murdered in an attempted attack on him. Ridley survived as a young girl and was put into hiding. Years later, Luke is found, tortured and held captive not knowing his daughter had survived. Dark Knight uses him as bait to lure Ridley in. Ridley eventually finds out who Luke is, that he is alive and goes to rescue him.

Also, people who work for Kraft, Pepsi/Coke and other companies like that will get promotional info like that ahead of the game. So this may very well be a case of "Well I know this, but let me make it out to sound like THIS". Just saying.

I'm not trying to rain on spectacle's parade but the other guys who have leaked stuff have had their leaks backed up with concept art.

Kraft was probably predictable though. They wouldn't miss a chance to make Vader mac n cheese.

 

Ironically, the fact they they have concept art should make you question it more. I think real scoops are likely to come sans concrete evidence. Sucks for us, but such is life.

 

Disney had previous promotions with Kraft, it doesn't surprise me if we get Mac & Cheese Millennium Falcon, C3PO and R2D2.

As for Spectacle's rumor, not saying he is wrong, but we've had multiple sources tell us something different. I'm going to go with the majority and believe Luke is Luke!

 

I have no doubt that Luke will have a darker tone to his character, but I really don't think he will be a cyborg.

 

Perhaps but so is Taco Bell and Pepsi yet I don't see anyone sticking their neck's out with a claim based on said partnership.

So if he's trolling, he's a smart one.
If he's not, we just scared him off.

A messed up Luke clone would fit both stories, no?

It would also fit with that guy from Badass Digest saying we would be shocked by the ACTOR playing the cyborg.

I'm not saying Luke clone is a good idea, but I wouldn't rule it out. It would explain both sides...

I for one am not accusing anyone of lying.

I just wonder if there is active misinformation, old concept art, or other reasons to explain both sides of the Luke cyborg deal.

For instance, if Luke is a cyborg how did it leak so horribly early? Why did so many on production know he was a cyborg?

Not attacking you by any means it just seems off that the big reveal would be out there before filming was even done.

 

Am I the only one who finds it weird that a member since Sept 29th with only 11 posts to this forum all of a sudden, without any other previous reports of inside info, has reliable confirmation the day after the wrap party?

That obviously crossed my mind but I don't know. Just seems strange that everything that has been leaked thus far has had supporting concept art leaked as well.
