What do you have on Driver's character?

 

No, dude, it's not like that at all. It is not that I don't want to believe it. I am all about the execution of plot more than being pessimistic about rumors (and I think that many other posters are also fairly open minded). I was just trying to reconcile how rumors have pointed to a bearded Luke and a cyborg one. I thought that seeing his transformation on screen would explain that.

 

Let's be fair, that's how YOU were told it goes down. But there are other stories that directly contradict what you are saying. Of course, they are all rumours until we see the film ourselves. You nor we can verify anything that you are saying, so I'm going to have to lean in favour of the rumours that have been told more commonly. And then there are my own opinions based on logic and film watching experience.

The beauty of rumor-mongering is never actually knowing what is and what isn't true. So if you disagree with something... that's fine, do so in a civil manner. But to claim something is flat-out WRONG or TROLLING just because it doesn't line up with other MORE COMMONLY HEARD FANFICTIONS is preposterous.

Here's the thing about the rumors we keep hearing about again and again... they're likely fake. That's why they've been let out of the MISERY BOX. That's why multiple sources have been told the same thing. So fanboys can hang their hat on what appears to be corroboration of FANFICTION with zero proof of anything.

It's the outlier stuff. The theories that make you stop and reconsider things... those are the ones most likely to be closer to the truth. Even if no one else has put it forward. Or whether it contradicts anything that came before.

I'm going to be the friendly simpleton here and point out one thing which makes me tend to side against the whole Luke cyborg thing...

It may have been mentioned elsewhere before but it seems a bit odd to me to have Mark grow out this giant beard (which he apparently hated), and then cover it up with cybernetics make-up like we've seen on our cyborg grave-robber in the concept art... that just doesn't make sense from a make-up standpoint...

Not trying to offend anyone or call anyone a liar but I still believe Luke will be Luke...

Of course it's all rumour. Nobody said otherwise. I also didn't suggest that one rumour is more factual than the other- that would be a contradiction in terms. I considered spectacles original post and for me, it just doesn't ring true. I'm leaning towards the other rumours, because they make more sense to me. That's the only real way we can discuss these rumours.

Why is this then?

Was the one being used by G@BRIEL GR@Y, right before his twitter feed went bye-bye... The spoiler king had claimed to be looking at a picture of Luke (and he specifically said Luke) then he and Jason from MSW got into a conversation about an obsession with augmentation, skin grafts, and an incident with loss of family that changes someone inside and out... we have only been using Grave Robber and Dark Knight because of the titles on the concept art pieces that were leaked... unlike Zorro (which was an official production name, but no less the confusing) those could have been anything up to random names chosen by the person saving the pics... for that matter, I don't know why GR@Y uses it either, but he knows more than me and seems to know what is going on, and with his long history of leaks and spoilers, I am putting faith in that

Yeah... I keep going back to that. Everyone keeps saying, "Luke won't be a cyborg" and unless he plans on regrowing an arm, he will be at least that... I think the idea is that he wont be more of a cyborg. Somewhere I think there got to be confusion over Montross, who is a cyborg, and the Warlord character, who is wearing a mask...

Well... that tends to support the idea that Pirate Bay is the batcave... if the chromies are pirates, and are doing convoy raiding, then Boyega could be one and get knocked down... the good guys may be of the opinion that they are the ones who killed Luke (thinking him dead) or they may even have been the ones that captured him, and he somehow wound up taking them over...

He could have filmed dozens of scenes in Warlord guise, and we simply don't see him until the end of the film... we didn't see Vader until ESB, and then just for a moment in the meditation chamber, but there he was on screen the entire time, if you get my meaning...

I would be interested in hearing the theory... just so long as you clearly delineate "this is what I heard" and "this is what I think"... you more-so than others, as with some inside information it will be important to keep track of what is rumor, what is speculative and what is spoiler fed

I know what you're saying, but this is where I get a little weary. All these rumours can't all be true. Even if you exclude the ones that contradict themselves, there seems to be a lot going on for one movie. I'm not just talking about the quantity of scenes, but also the significance. Then we have to assume that we only have maybe 50% of what's going on in the movie (eg what's Leia up to). It just seems way too much to take in.

 

I think it is all rumor. I am sure everyone with a source has been giving some real info and some fake info. Spectacle for you to come in and say it has to be true makes you less believable. Unless you have seen actual movie footage or were on set you are getting second hand info. Most people reporting rumors have said this is what I have been told but can't say it is 100% true. You already said the info is coming to you 3rd hand so you haven't seen footage and were not on set. Therefor, you, like everyone else, can't say for certain that what you have been told is true.

My question is if you turn out to be wrong will you apology to everyone?

It could be your source has seen the rumors of Luke and read early on Driver was a bad guy and reported that to your girlfriend who reported it to you. Absolutes are not a good idea when you were not on set and have not seen the movie and you got the info 3rd hand.

I have a feeling you are very confident about the Kraft and Star Wars connection because you work for Kraft Food. It makes sense for Kraft to partner with Star Wars as they partner with Disney often.

Because highly sensitive plot points/reveals are typically under extreme lockdown. They wouldn't be making the rounds on random guy's iPhone.

Did you ever stop to think: Maybe JJ is giving the two or three sites that cover Star Wars their own EXCLUSIVES! by way of trumped up images/plot points from sources whose main directive is to feed us a nugget of OMG MUST BE REAL when in reality it's NOTHING.

It's symbiotic. The sites might even know it's fake. But will play ball, because... they are committed to sharing everything with their readership ... also, what else is there to do. Talk about Rebels all day?

And let's not forget CLICK BAIT BABY. Sites like traffic. Episode VII chatter gets traffic. So it's a win on their end.

I'm in this for the fun though. The aforementioned is very cynical and perhaps true to a certain extent. But whatevs, let's make nice!

Willybobo totally agree. This site and almost all of the other sites make money from ads. I'm not sure how much but they get paid. They have an interest in having us visit their sites multiple timesa a day.
