I get the feeling that they'll do what they did with Avengers: Age Of Ultron: release a teaser with a major film release (The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part One), and then re-release the teaser with additional footage during a television event - only without leaks this time. I'm going to guess that if they're going to go for a TV trailer, it'll be attached to something that brings in a large viewership, like the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade.

    Hey guys,
Sorry, I should qualify my statement before I stir the pot too much more.

One source said very positive to expect the trailer in some form on Thanksgiving day. Other source said no 100% date, but would bet on either Thanksgiving or Christmas(really hope not on the latter).

About to head into Interstellar in a few minutes. Catch you guys on the flip side. Sorry, hope I didn't kick the hornets nest too hard earlier.

One thing they were both certain on though...our little, green friend

Watch Clone Wars, Season 6, Ep 11-13. You will learn much more about the Force through Yoda's story arc. They are some of the last stories Lucas wrote/approved before his sale to Disney (and likely with written treatments for Ep VII-IX already completed).

No movies released Thanksgiving day. The Penguins of Madagascar and Horrible Bosses 2 released the day before but those don't seem like a fit. The Babadook, Before I Disappear and The Imitation Game are being released the day after. Really no fit there either other than Benedict Cumberbatch is in The Imitation Game and of course we all no the rumors about him but I doubt the teaser will be shown then. The Mockingjay this Friday would make the most sense. If it is on Christmas Day then it would have to be Into the Woods

Although I think The Hobbit makes the most sense

I'm guessing it it happens on Thanksgiving it will drop online or on television, and will be a teaser of a teaser type thing. My money is on the hobbit or into the woods, even though I hit my source up again a few minutes ago and he/she insists Thanksgiving.

By the way, if any of you are hungry for some good sci-fi to tide you over until next December, Interstellar is fantastic. Saw it this evening. Sorry to get off topic, but I highly recommend it.

The ROTS teaser was supposed to premiere online, for paying members of the official site's Hyperspace features.
If I recall rightly, it accidentally appeared ahead of schedule in some South American countries attached to the wrong film...

There is an outside chance they may plan to debut the TFA trailer online or on TV before it hits theatres.
I still don't think there could be much footage ready from the new film if it airs this soon. MSW are suggesting John Williams has scored the trailer (which is kind of unusual) with what is being described as "a medley"... Kinda leads me to believe this trailer would be the ideal time to do a brief "recap" type trailer, a montage of shots from the six existing films with a blend of familiar musical cues, before hitting us with just one final shot from the new movie to whet the appetite.

There will be no shortage of quality footage ready for the teaser ... it's a critically-important film on Disney's calendar and they won't skimp on making it impressive.

This topic isn't a huge surprise to me.
I thought Frank Oz past on 3/4 years ago & was surprised when I saw he was in London/visited the TFA set. :)
I'd add that the chance of the movie having a "Yoda" force-ghost scene is about 80-90%.

I wouldn't think it'd be a stretch to have Luke in scenes where he's dreaming or maybe seeing OT characters in flashbacks. The Hoth battle, the Cloud City duel, Dagobah, etc.

Luke may see/communicate with Yoda or maybe his father on Yavin 4.

I think that at this point it would be more likely that Yoda would be motion-capture, since Andy Serkis's special effects circus is involved. Frank Oz has said something to the effect of "I would love to voice the character again, but I don't to play him as a puppet."

What if Warwick Davis's role is Yoda using Serkis's mo-cap stuff?

My guess is if Yoda is in the teaser its more a voice over from ROTJ at the end of the Teaser ... "When gone am I the last of Jedi will you be" Luke looking crazy; Shot of Daisy with a lightsaber "Pass on what you have learned" Daisy's voice/face "Wake up" Then STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS DECEMBER 2015

That... Would actually make a lot of sense. As long as they would superimpose Frank Oz's facial expressions over the model, I could easily see this working.

Was Yoda's face based on Frank Oz's?
