SPOILER MSW's Rumor and Speculation Thread (Part 2)

I hate to say it, but I could definitely see Luke only being in the last scene, if that's what the story demands. They could weigh the temporary disappointment with the long-term setup and anticipation for Episode VIII.

 

I just think there's too much evidence that goes against MSW's claim.

 

Still skeptical about the one scene rumor despite the possibility of the teaser pointing at that direction. As before the teaser didn't reveal much of anything new just what we had heard of from rumors. One thing we can't forget, Mark himself said he would get escorted to set all covered up in robes because of the drones. Why is that if he only has one scene?

 

If SW fans would backlash about that, then they deserve all they get really.
If there is a good screenplay where Luke has few scenes, then they should make it. If there is a bad screenplay where Luke has few sceens, then they should not make it.
If there is a good screenplay where Luke has lots of scenes, then they should make it, and if there is a bad screenplay where Luke has lots of scenes, then they should not make it.
That is all that matters.

Well, either they are the kings of misdirection, or they are not - you can't back up the idea that they are clearly misdirecting people by saying they would never misdirect people, surely?

I'm a Star Wars fan. I'd be happier seeing Luke in one good scene than seeing him in 10 bad ones.

They say he is an antagonist general.

They say he is a village elder killed in the opening scenes.

He is someone pulling the strings, affiliated with the antagonists with not a lot of screentime.

Evidence? Han dying is something they "don't want out" for example?

Honestly. Look at it from the other side of the fence. You are some guy running a Star Wars tumblr blog and posting on Star Wars message boards for the past decade or so. How does JJ Abrams get this stuff to you that he wants you to leak? Seriously, explain how that process works...?

 

Yeah, totally could be. I was more responding to the claim of what Lucasfilm would or wouldn't do.

 

I said 100% but I match your trillion and I concur. I find it extremely interesting that all the EARLY stuff based on the "leaked" pics (minus castle and green stuff) .... is IN this trailer... and very little else. Which is also very interesting because We are seeing clips and images and info about things IN EXACTLY THE SAME ORDER WE HEARD ABOUT THEM LAST YEAR!!!! ..... lol ...... Like JJ and co. themselves are leaking what they want us to talk about IN CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER for each tier of this journey of trailers and pics and info...... spoon fed is a very good term. I even had a guy at the gas station talk to me for 10 mins cause of my shirt.... and he doesn't even read these sites... he hears it from friends and facebook. So EVERYONE.... even casual fans are talking about this stuff. and NO WAY luke is only at the very end and doesn't even really do anything.... forget the beard why would he lose so much weight if he only needs a double and a face shot or 2? I think this entire campaign is turning out to be just brilliant myself.

 

And look how people are flipping out over seeing Han & Chewy again! Han says 3 freakin' words in the trailer and we all lost our minds! It's bringing people to tears, not me of course, I don't cry (lies)... My feeling is that each of the main 3 will have ICONIC entrances...I think Bad Robot are VERY aware of the leaks and rumors and are fashioning these 'teasers' to give us a taste of the movie but not anything plot orientated and also nothing that would discredit any spoiler website out there....yet.

 

Hamill wasn't in London for 6 months. And his beard and hair constantly grew.

"Disagree" all you want. You are wrong.

 

It seems like it has to be pointed out every time this argument is made that this does not prove that luke has just a few scenes. It means that mark hamill had few scenes. You can still have stunt doubles that do the fighting. Maybe he is hiding his identity for the most part, like in the trailer. A bit like obi wan did when scaring off the tuskens.

i'm seriously disturbed by how many people on this thread would rather babble on about conspiracies and amplify falsehoods just because they don't like the rumour/spoiler.

MSW has stuff, no question. I just don't get how some here accept his speculation on top of the broad strokes he may have. When some of us disagree, oh boy, lookout..... Little inflections/journalistic flourishes of his can drastically change the tone of a scene/ movie as a whole. Tread cautiously.

 

I think its more about proving Jason wrong most of the time. You must admit Jason can be very arrogant and obnoxious but does that make him fake? i'm either way with these rumors to be honest. Mainly because the rumors don't naturally run right, it seems patchy like we are missing something but then again we don't have dialog either. Putting up concept art is not helpful either we don't know whether any of the drawings made the final cut.

But that's a totally sensible stance, and I don't think anyone is saying otherwise.
I take everything that site says with a pinch of salt, because there has been a blurring of the lines between what is directly from source and what is pure speculation on the author's part - I get that.

What I don't understand is people's ongoing belief in this concept of a "misinformation" campaign. It just isn't happening. Period.
Stuff is leaking. Some of it is accurate. Some of it is misunderstood. Some of it is redundant. But it is leaking all the same, the way it always does and always will...
The bottom line is, if you are committed to the misinformation crusade, then why is MSW the first and only port of call? Surely everything JJ has tweeted since 2013 deseves your scrutiny more? Surely every public appearance by a member of the cast and anything they say is higher up in the "we shouldn't believe this" pecking order? Surely every prop, costume and photo seen at Celebration is fair game for being exposed as a fake? And surely the fact that Hamill grew a beard and went certain places cannot be submitted as evidence of there being a disinformation campaign... when it is equally rational to presume him doing those things may have been part of the disinformation campaign for exactly the same reasons. It's like saying the fact that Bob doesn't own a gun is proof that Frank wasn't shot by Terry...

 

Fair and just. Misinformation campaigns of any great extent seems like a large time investment JJ doesn't have if he wants to perfect the film before December. I would think that time will be spent on Easter eggs instead.

 

It's like you seriously don't understand the concept how movies are made.
And ignore that every actor was not on set every day or on location for the full six months either. Every single actor was allowed to make personal appearances or attend previous commitments.
Also why did Mark state that he would have to leave his trailer and go to set covered in robes to avoid drones?

 

I'm giving up on this thread, the delusion of some is now spreading over into private messages. Have fun folks, I think MSW are pretty spot on, however the final movie will be the arbiter of the who is right in the end. I want to enjoy my star wars experience before some users ruin it.
