Their list has many things on it like Poe naming Finn. Anyways lets move on to why they thought Finn had a great arc.

idk, anyway the writers for TFA clearly wanted Finn to look crazy because Finn didn't have clear wins as a lead. This we have to wait and see thing is nonsense. There is zero proof they will make Finn better.

Actually a lot of Finn's characteristics were molded by JB himself .

Its funny and you know it, have any of you read the book before the awakening? What are your thoughts on how finn is portrayed there compared to the movie.

Finn waking up during VIII or between movies will soley depend on the amount of time that has elapsed between TFA and VIII. If the the next movie starts almost right after it or a few months after TFA, then we will see Finn wake up during VIII. If there is a few year span between movies then Finn will have awoken offscreen. Either way I think in VIII we will see a different Finn. Finn will change a lot over the trilogy. It is easy for us to be shortsighted and view his development as a character just to this film but we have to remember this is a trilogy. We have to be patient with his character development. Right now they are slow playing his development but that does not mean there won't be a payoff by the end.

Boyega himself is a very funny guy, and he can be clumsy at times.

I probably have read them at some point but forgotten. No need to repeat them just for me though, I'll attempt to read through this library of a thread/your post history to find them but if you have the time or remember where the post was yourself I would be grateful if you could link them.

You know, now the you mention it I'm struggling to come up with a lot off the top of my head. The first one that springs to mind is Catniss and Peter(?) from the Hunger games, where they basically reverse the gender roles and make him the one in need of rescue and being the more sensitive one etc.

I think how they handle Finn's coma could be a double edged sword either way. If he does wake up after at the start of Ep.VIII, after a time skip, then there is the pitfall that they might keep Finn in the same "what's going on?! Aww hell no!!" kind of everyman, I'm how a normal person would react lol, character. However, they could also use the coma for dramatic spontaneous change in Finn's attitude, fs would help here but is not necessary, and actually add purpose to putting Finn in a coma other than to stop him from following Rey.

I've read this statement a lot and I would be curious to see the article/s that mention this.

I'm trying to find t but I'm starting to think that it was an off-hand comment made by Boyega or JJ air someone where it mentioned that Daisy's own characteristics were put into Rey, too.

The whole "let's make him desperate" thing was also an innovation to the screenplay brought in by Boyega himself.

Is the character on his shirt holding a sword? It looks like a fencing label on his shirt, If so I hope he learns a mixture of different sword fighting styles.

Kind of looks like it plus there's an All Star Fencing company in the us and uk. They have t-shirts with characters doing poses that look kind of similar. I hope this means more lightsaber action for Finn.

I guess/hope Finn will continue using the lightsaber in episode 8, if John Boyega is training in Kendo.

Those look more like wraps that some boxers wear when they're training...maybe his stile could potentially be a mix of sword/hand-to-hand training, sort like with Darth Mail where he punches Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan in TOM .
