Official Rey Episode VIII thread

I didn't necessarily see this one coming. Exec. producer role for Daisy. Very interesting!

 

To be fair it's a documentary and not a feature film but good for her .

 

She also has the rights to Mr. Churchill's Secretary / Maggie Hope series.

It's like how I'm an exec producer although mine is a feature film...maybe I should try to get my people in touch with her people and see if something can be worked out now THAT a would be feeling awesome if that worked .

 

I know nothing of these book series, but I will NOW... *feverishly Googles*...

Yeah I have one movie under my company but it's not for everyone...but if I could work with someone as seemingly nice as Daisy, then I would and utilize all the resources I have since having someone like Daisy would incline my investors and my people to put more into into than my film

 

Hopefully she gets a yellow one....like bastilla shan.

 

I'd like to see some character (whether it's Rey or not) who carries a more rapier-style one-handed lightsaber with an offhand parrying lightdagger, or perhaps an offhand shield that will block a lightsaber.

 

Rey will have a scythe..she will be Rey, Uktimatr Jedi, Beinger of Death to all that defy her .

I think she'll use Anakin's until she is dispossessed of it by Kylo. If she does construct one herself, I'd like to see a standard yellow blade or an elongated handle with yellow blade.

 

I agree. Great power always come with fear of losing it or fear of can't using it to prevent love ones. This is a path to the dark side that Rey has to deal with like many jedi before her. She will be tempted but not turn to the Dark side. We will see a mature Rey in Episode VIII, more power and more pain...I also think that Luke might even somehow kill her mother if he is her father, or responsible of her loss and nightmarish childhood. This would make a really interesting conflict in the story. Episode VIII will emphasize on the relationship between Luke and Rey, and show the side we never see from the old veteran, battled Jedi.

People assume that because Rey has no formal martial or military training she has no training or discipline at all. But it's clear that she has had training with a staff, she's had training as a pilot, and she's had training in surviving. I have two years of formal training in karate, but that doesn't mean I can't learn more on my own. Rey has the kind of personality that says "I am dedicated to being ready." She spent her whole life up until that point getting ready, it turned out that she was totally wrong about what she had to be ready for.

The big question, again, is who is she? Where does she come from? Every day I feel less and less confident that she's Luke daughter. I was leaning towards Han and Leia's daughter, or possibly a daughter Leia had after she and Han split, but now I'm pretty sure that she's either a clone of Luke or the product of one of the Emperor's crazy science projects, utilizing Luke's DNA.
