I wonder if Rey's planet is populated by nonhuman species and Finn is the first human male she has met in person? Every time she looks at him she goes into heat and she can't understand her feelings. That would be so funny.

 

BB-8 sounds to me like Ben Burtt took samples of Donald Duck's voice and modulated them digitally.

 

Yeah, lots of people are saying it is before, but I'm not quite sure, the level of anger and rage Rey has with the blaster points to it being after - like she wants to punish him for what just went down, make him sorry he spared her...but really there is not nearly enough context to establish a solid opinion either way!

Not to flog a deceased stallion, but I honestly don't understand the criticisms of the acting at this point. It would appear that some people are simply looking for something to criticize and then blowing their criticism way out of proportion. A couple of things:

1. Sorry, Fartkraum, but the OT is not perfect by any stretch of the imagination. I love Luke as much as the next guy, but there are several lines where Mark Hamill's delivery is pretty cringe-worthy. Not near the level of "I hate sand" or "Are you an angel?" or "It's not fair!" or "I wish I could just wish my feelings away", but Hamill ain't exactly Laurence Olivier (or Harrison Ford, for that matter). I'm thinking about Toschii Station or his delivery when complaining to Yoda. Not that my feelings about his acting are universal, it's more of a personal thing based on years of repeated viewings, watching the entirety of his performance and not 3 lines in a 2 minute trailer.

2. Same goes for the criticisms about cinematography or tone. I almost laughed out loud when I read a few pages back somebody complaining that TFA isn't 'mature' - there is no way, absolutely no way, that anyone can make that kind of sweeping judgment at this point.

 

The part where Phasma tell him to not kill her, is clearly he has no intention of doing it, and it's just messing/threatening her

 

Judging by Finn's awkwardness of introducing himself I'm 95% convinced he came up with that name on the Spot. If not very recently. I don't think he has been known to be called anything else but his trooper number, atleast not what he remembers. Either way it's better than Rey naming him. That rumor was just stupid...

I'm 100% sure someone at some point in the movie will say "i have a bad feeling about this".

I believe the chronology for that scene is, Rey looks up and see the First Order Armada checking in, like in the TV spots from before the US trailer, some Storm Troopers are chasing in, she shots and kills some of them, Kylo Ren holds her off and take of the blaster with the force, he talks and walks around her with some cryptic words about her being a Scavenger ( i believe he knows who she is, but she doesn't), then he threatens her with the lightsaber.

 

In heat? You mean like a dog? Kind of a demeaning way of putting it no?

 

hey man, no matter what you say there will be haters. Jut like there are haters of ROTJ, the prequel's, Rebels, etc. There will be haters of TFA. As fans, there isn't much we can do except ignore. Also, there will be people who secretly like it but will try and stir the pot and fire saying its terrible to get a under your finger nails. Sadly, we Just have to deal with those people and enjoy it ourselves.

 

I love it too. the way Ridley announces herself. It was very much Star Wars. there is wonder in her voice. i think it speaks to her ability as an actor.

I fully expect Rian to blow us away. Ive been a huge fan since Looper. the man is quite creative. i think its quite possible he tops 7 in every department.

 

the way that shot of rey and ren looks...I think it seems as if she is invisible trying to be very still and he senses her then moves the saber near her. She then continues to remain still as to not give herself totally away.

Probably not the case, but the body language makes me think possibly so.

 

This tráiler is Just Amazing...... Watch the cinematography on the scene where Rey is grabbing her staff and jumping on the downed At At legs...... the Japanese tráiler shows some Great camera work.

 

Only if she recognizes Han when they meet, which doesn`t seem to be the case.

 

Seems to be some confusion over Rey's lines. You can tell the lines in the trailer are copy and pasted from different scenes. Also when did this theory about Rey naming Finn like hes her new puppy start?

 

Well she had to do a lot of running, the girl needs a breather.

 

On the Rey as the lead, I was standing in the movie theater yesterday to pay for candy and popcorn. A mother and her three daughters behind me start talking about Rey and the star wars poster there. These girls are maybe 8-12 years old. Rey was a success in that regard. If this was their goal, they succeeded.

 

Where's the evidence that she doesn't recognize Han? She doesn't know the family lore about the Jedi are true, that's all. My own nephew doesn't know his mother was previously married before she married his dad, and he's almost as old as Rey! They've been a happy, intact family for 17 years- he never asked, and his parents never said.

I have a strong hunch that something bad happened having to do with the Jedi, the Force, the Dark Side and Rey. They have deliberately hid this history from her for her own protection.

Families can hide lots of secrets, it isn't that hard. But, eventually, the truth will out. And that's what this movie is about.
