You know, there's been relative peace and harmony in my toy room lately. But now this Japanese trailer shows up from out of nowhere, and suddenly that grouchy-ass 6" Kylo is swinging his saber around like he owns the damn place!

 

I really like how they headlined the hero's in this tráiler. Finn and Rey. The story seems to be about them having the feeling of being alone and finding eachother.

 

Look at the ads for Duracell and the sales for Rey costumes, i know the cynical will look at this and say yeah that's was all for selling things, but not.

To Star Wars to grow and be strong in the future along with great movies and great content from all medias, it need fans, people that care about it.

Little girls will go crazy about Rey, if you thing Katniss everdeen is huge wait until this come out, from an emotional point of view to tackle such unexplored territory will do great things for the Franchise, not that Star Wars is a white male territory? no, Star Wars was always progressive, Princess Leia is one of the strongest female Characters in the Star Wars lore, but still she feels like she is "the girl".

Now is that the main reason why i like the Rey character? no, it's a plus.

The main reason is because it feels fresh, it's a great twist on things, and makes sense, there's no reason whatsoever the Force would only choose Males as the "chosen one", i think the character feels so natural in Star Wars myths, like she belong in the OT.

I think it's a home run from the writers and KK, the movie could come out and undermine everything i said?

Sure, but that's how i feel right now.

BTW, i'm a straight male, so i have no beef personally on it.

I agree, but was a fun movie, not the best of the year, for me that glory so far until TFA comes out go to Ex-Machina.

But i didn't hate it, and was leap and bounds over the previews Jurassic sequels

Mad Max is my top followed by The Martian as far as sci fi goes. Ex Machina was really good though. Sci fi Frankenstein.

Ex Machina had more of a prolonged effect on me than the others. It was pretty powerful stuff and it showed the two TFA actors can act which I confess was the main reason I watched the movie.

 

I wouldn't say ballsy, but I certainly have balls.. metaphorically speaking of course. Can't say that for everyone around here (not aimed at you)

 

First post here, but I've been reading it for quite some time.

My 2 cents: of course Kylo Ren knows Rey. I think it's a safe bet based on one of the lines from Kylo's action figure with samples from the movie, where he says "it's true that you're only a scavanger?"

 

Here are some of my opinions on the international trailer

• I loved the visuals. The cinematography of this movie is going to be amazing. The shot of the TIE fighters in the sunset was breathtaking. If the execution of the story and the actors performances are half as good as the cinematography this movie is going to be awesome
• The dialogue was definitely edited together strangely. The "I'm used to waiting" and "for my family" clips definitely sound different. I can't say whether one is GC or not but it definitely does not go together naturally. They definitely wanted to get across the idea that Rey is waiting for her family
• It's still unclear who Rey's parents are. If she happens to be of Skywalker blood, I really don't think she knows it
• The scene with Kylo with the saber out and Rey definitely goes along with the scene of Rey firing the blaster in the American trailer. However unlike many who have speculated that this scene precedes the blaster scene, I think the opposite happens. I think in the scene with the blaster she is likely firing at oncoming stormtroopers and Kylo sneaks up behind her.
• There was more evidence that MSW has their pulse on this movie

recently they said that Rey was on Jakku and afraid to leave as she is waiting for her parents to return. It now appears she is waiting for her family. They say Rey gets captured after fleeing Maz's castle. It now appears that she is captured by Kylo. They say it is Chewbacca who has to ignite the charges at Starkiller base. We now see Chewbacca pressing a detonator

• With all that we have seen, I think this movie is going to have a great look and feel to it. If the actors put together a good performance (I'm confident they will), I think most SW fans are going to love this movie and the general public will like it too.

I feel like i already seen to much of the film but at the same time I know that we still have more than 2 hrs of new footage to watch when the movie comes out.

 

They haven't really shown much of second and third act of the movie at all.

 

Watching this video that you posted I just had the feeling that JJ is using the main enviroment of each movie of the OT to give life to TFA.
