Poe's role in episode 8

Why can't they just be friends. If Finn is getting a love interest. That will be the only romance of the trilogy. Rey has more important things to deal with then falling in love.

 

Oscar was so good as Poe and as far as I know everyone has loved his character and wanted more Poe in TFA. I'm guessing we will see more of him being the hotshot ace Resistance/ Republic X-Fighter pilot but we might also see more of him as a leader and representative of the Resistance.

 

Well Poe's lack of screentime can probably be explained by:

-His initially supposed to die when the TIE Fighter crashed, and then they changed their minds on that at the last minute and left him alive.
-Giving Han such a large role, for obvious reasons.

And I feel like those obstacles are now no longer present, so his role is likely expanding moving forward (supposedly he's one of the characters who benefiting from those rumored rewrites).

 

Rey's busy training as a jedi, and we left Finn and Poe in the same area. I wouldn't be surprised if both were in a mission together, and by the second half of the film they gather with Rey and that becomes a triangle (I mean, the three of them have worn the same jacket!)

 

Have you seen the BTS stuff, or they're social media posts? Daisy, John, and Oscar are great together, be it in interviews or just hanging out/goofing off.

 

I think it's really quite simple: Fly jets, shoot guns and kick ass.

 

Im starting to lean towards Rey, Poe and Finn all being force sensitive. Poe is the best pilot we've seen so far. He was KILLING it. He has some connection to the force for sure

 

Agree. I wouldn't bet on Finn to be force sensitive but Poe is too much of an extraordinary pilot to be force insensitive... Maybe in Episode IX Rey will train him and show him the ways of the force... (and something else LOL )

 

I have to imagine Poe and Finn going on there own separate mission, like a buddy cop movie. Maybe some rivalry with a new love interest.

 

While Rey has a complicated task of training and trying to bring Luke back, Poe and Finn would have a secret mission to rescue someone or stole something. Hope new characters n Episode VIII might be Han's offspring with other wife or Lando's one.

Poe's mother was a great pilot (in an A-Wing granted, by still) according to the Shattered Empire comic, and she would take him flying in her old ship when he was younger. He seems to have inherited his love of piloting and skills from her

Plus Han and Lando were really good pilots, despite not being FS.

 

That is actually not completely correct.. though I don't know how much of that they still kept after nixing the EU.

It's pretty much esdtablished wisdom that all great pilot have some low level of Force sensitivity, with FS being more a scale than a yes/no thing.
That whole flight instinct thing for pilot is a Force gifdt, albeit a weaker one and most pilots would never get over thresholdfor Jedi.
Like on a scale of 1 to 7 Hand was around a 3-4 with a Padawan being a five and a knight a six (those exact numbers come from the old RPG)

All of that might be completely nixed... I don't think so though, if I think how Han shot a Stormtrooper without looking in TFA

 

I feel like that was simply a bit of comedy, and to show that Han is so experienced wit his weapon, and so used to all of this, that it's basically second-nature for him.

Not unlike Hawkeye in the first Avengers film, being able to fire behind his back without turning around to look/aim, while talking to the others at the same time, and STILL hit his target.

 

It's A Disney Movie !

Give me some of this adorkableness onscreen, pretty please? It'd be such a shame to not get to see them all interact together onscreen.

 

It would be funny it it was all staged which I wouldn't put past someone like Disney .

 

Personally I think they Finn and Poe will be together this next movie, either trying to discover where the First Order is and their plans or trying to build up the resistance. Most of the resistance fleet was destroyed when the Hosnian system was destroyed, so they may be looking for new ships or allies.

Poe being Force Sensitive is completely plausible:

In shattered empire his mother received a Force tree from the Jedi temple on Couresant after the mission she was on with Luke. Luke giving her the tree and the fact that he was raised around it could be the only way I see him being Force Sensitive

 

I also believe that Finn and Poe will be paired up more in Episode VIII as well. I mean they're in the same location as of the end of TFA after all. I just want Rey to come back at some point, so that all three can be onscreen together/interacting.
