REYLO - Potential Evidence For & Against

That is an amazing yet creepy movie. I only saw it later in life after I had become a woman, but it helps to watch it as an adult and see what they were symbolizing with Sarah.

I dunno. I can see your point. But for me, on a personal level..i dont find the interrogation scene unsettling. Perhaps its cuz of my do or die mentality but i dont feel threathend by an enemy who is in a position of power over me. I see it as a welcome challenge.
I think Rey very much so has a similar outlook on the world and I have to say I was kinda surprised to see how aggresive she really is...towards teedo, and those thugs, and poor stormtroopers...and ofc kylo.
Another thing I was VERY MUCH surprised to see is her recieving direct punch to the face by those unkar plutt male thugs when they jump her and bb8.

But to wrap up, sorry for longness...
I see paralels between the rey/kylo and Leia/Han scenes and similarities in how i respond to both. When stripped down to bare charachter interactions devoided of the context. Stripping context maybe wrong but i dont think anyone has the right, or the moral highground for that matter to judge. Doesnt make me a bad person, this. And the context, better yet nuances, are not that important in the movies as they are in reality cuz in the movies a good storyteller can manipulate them quite well to shift the emmotional output of the audience. I can say this with perfect clarity, tho: if at the end if st kylo ends up evil i will respond to the scene differently.

i don't find it "unsettling" either. it's just two combatants, each trying to get the upper hand.
Ren is in control of the dynamic until he suddenly isn't.
that's the part that all the people screaming "rape" or whatever creepy insinuations seem to forget.

What's interesting about that is Rey invaded his mind just as harshly as he did hers (even harsher I found. He didn't want to hurt her, but she couldn't control herself and probably hurt him a bit). I'd say it went from unbalanced to balanced between them during that moment.

Haha yeah he does't want to harm her and she brings him to his knees.

As for the reverse Ankain thing, if that is still what they are planning or ever had planned, then VIII will be showing a Kylo Ren that is dark, but starts to become light and is almost somber and sad. Only then if Rey forgives him, will IX likely have a redeemed Ben.

 

we've already seen angry and distracted and flailing, so yeah, i suspect he'll be a little less out of control and more thoughtful on some levels in this next installment.

Unless we see some new pics of him not looking like a kicked porg, chances are he's going to be stuck in a sort of limbo throughout the whole movie. Seriously though I want some darker pics of him for once!

Yes. He threads lightly. Feels with her her linelyness. He is drawn to it cuz he feels it too. Has compassion for her. I bet he too is...desperate to sleep at night.
And what does she do? Bam...goes straight towards his greatest fear! Shaming him...OR....perhaps she relates to being affraid that she is not strong enough for this awfull world and is drawn to his fear similarly like he is drawn to her lonelyness..cuz she relates?.....who can tell, really?

Yesterday as I watched TFA...I had so many things that just felt a bit different during this viewing...after the ew spreads. One of them being...maz's words...about the lightsaber....the lightsaber. Its calling to you. It was Luke's..and HIS FATHER'S before him. The lightsaber of the Chosen One is calling to HER?!. Hmmm....why? If its calling for a Skywalker then Kylo would do. And he could force pull it to himself during the final fight. No? Is it calling for the Chosen One made from the Force like Ani was? Dunno.

That also made me wonder. Is it known HOW exactly Ani made that lightsaber and where? What kyber did hd use? Was it prior AotC or during Clone wars? Cant remember if he had it during Mortis trilogy in TCW series.

 

Oh wow we think alike! I just discussed this last night actually!

Ren said that the saber belonged to him. Guess why he might have said that? Blood inheritance, or did he touch it too as Ben? When he started to walk Vader's path and prepared for his final test, Rey's powers were suddenly awoken, then when both summoned it, it chose to fly to Rey's hand despite Ben being the Skywalker.

Now they are connected and the saber if once touched by both of them has brought them together. That's where I see the balance forming. One Light and one Dark, coming together to keep the cycle from beginning again.

instead of giving my answers to the 4 questions a few pages back.. i'll ask my own:-

if there is a romance between these 2... would people prefer kylo to be as he is now, or as ben glowing in light sided goodness?

reason i ask is the twighlight/buffy factor. massive franchises where the female leads fall for very similar characters to kylo. some scary similarites when u think about it actually.

is it ReyLo we are talking about happening? or really ReyBen?

i dont really understand the lure of a bad boy/girl... as im such a sweet and innocent guy (yeah i lol'd while typing that).

do the ReyLo fans want a scenario where Rey is in love with a bad boy? or do they want Rey to 'fix' him before falling for him, or does he come back to the light and become a hero...that she falls for?

What is ReyLo to everyond here? because im not sure i know what id prefer to see.

Ummm... romance-wise? Ben.

As for fixing him, I see Rey fixing him like she'll fix Luke. That's not where I would see a romance happening. That would be when a respect or semi-truce would happen. I see Rey as someone who can understand Ben in a way the others failed, as he too saw that when he looked into her mind. That understanding, plus forgiving and acceptance can help guide him back, but unless he truly leaves Snoke and the FO, I do not see a romance at all.

 

ReyBen if we gotta. i won't even call it ReyLo ~ hahaha

 

I think people called it Reylo since we have no idea if he will ever be Ben again, and they connected first as enemies.

See, i cant root for ben & rey, kissing in a tree... until i meet ben. See what kind of a man he is.

Then.. my mind jumps to the fact that a romance will bring attachments and a bag full of emotional situations.

I want Ben Solo in star wars.. and i think a romance prevents that from happening.

Im not sure ben & rey is possible. I think kylo would have to remain a bit darkside for us to see a romance with rey or anyone else.

Meh... ill say something completely different tomorrow, i just dont know how i feel about reylo

 

What I see is them having a small, hardly romantic moment at the end of IX (smiling at each other, holding hands, journeying together, a small kiss, etc...). The rest is left to our imaginations as the credits role.

Mind you this all depends on their relationship with the others, if they survive and if he turns good at all.
