Rey meditating as the parts come together in front of her... Williams starts with Rey's theme then moves into 'Lightsaber constuction' Theme. EPIC! Thanks for that haha

Maybe it cuts from Rey's peaceful construction to Kylo's much more crude and black smith like construction of his new saber? :)

I agree, Ach-To would still possibly hold some very powerful crystals indeed... What a scene that would be! Rey facing her fears and going into a crystal cave that is strong with the force to find the crystal meant for her..

I think it's about time we get something like that. The episodes in TCW and Rebels are great, but I think it's an important enough part of the mythos to come up in a film, too. Plus, each experience is pretty personally tailored to the Jedi, so even though we've seen crystal hunts before, we haven't seen Rey's crystal hunt, which is sure to be rife with prophecy and insight on the ST itself.

Cool, thanks for that. I probably should have just read the wookiepedia article instead of throwing out a random question in a thread though. Silly me.
Yeah, there’s a lot about Jedi ceremony and training that has only ever been eluded to that we haven’t actually seen. Something I had expected TCW to cover in greater detail, that Rebels may still. Getting it realized on the big screen would be way more gratifying though.

Be so epic and perfect for Rian Johnson's statement of making Episode 8 'Weird'.

Since Rey has already heard the voices of the Jedi of the past it would be cool imagery for her to enter the cave and hear whispers of Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon, Yoda and even Anakin! As she passes massive crystals you see a glimmer of their force ghosts quickly in the reflection until she gets to the crystal calling to her. A star among stars... ;0 Too much?

    That would be so cool!

I also wouldn't mind it going darker, too. We could have visions of all sorts of sith and Dark Side users- Maul, Greivous, Palpatine, Vader, Ren... maybe even a vision of Revan, or more ancient sith (though, I'd still want it to somehow be personal).

I'm halfway with you. The Sith did not learn how to become a force ghost as far as we know, so I'd like the dark side trying to sway her as she approaches the crystal, but for it to only be existing ones such as Snoke.. Also, maybe show Anakin switch to Vader a couple of times since technically he was both and became a force ghost! :) :)

Not necessarily as Force Ghosts, but other force illusions. There's a scene in Rebels that I won't spoil, but it's kind of similar to that. Also, there's been some speculation that the Dagobah Cave scene was also reminiscent of crystals causing force illusions.

That spot on Dagobah was said to be strong with the darkside. It would be odd for a Jedi temple to have a darkside presence. Although the one on Coruscant was built over a Sith shrine, so not unprecedented. Maybe wherever the Force resides, there's always light and dark together in some way?

Yeah, you're right... Interesting.. I agree that it would be cool to see Light side and Dark side elements since her destiny is still unclear.. Maybe the crystal itself is strobing different colors upon her visions she is having. A glimpse of Han being killed by Kylo- the crystal strobes red.. A glimpse of her friends, Finn and Leia the Crystal now green, etc.

Still we're talking about a scene that probably won't even happen.. Fun to write this in my mind thought. lol

Well she uses Darth Plagueis Saber as a staff. I say put crystals back in the Staff.

Kylo should end up with one of Vader's Red Crystals/Sabers.

I think in TLJ she will definitely use the blue Skywalker saber. I do think there is a good chance in IX she has her own.

Luke's single-bladed blue saber for sure. Not only as a weapon, but also sort of a symbol of her training. Anakin used it during his training, the Luke used it on his path to become a Jedi Knight, and now Rey is going to use it also when becoming a Jedi herself. The saber, just like the opening crawl, and the opening shot of a ship in each movie, will now likely become a tradition. Each main character will use it on their path to become a Jedi.

That being said, the single bladed saber is the only logical option. The poll choice " Rey remaster her staff and build her own double bladed lightsaber " makes no sense as a saberstaff/ doublesaber and regular staffs are two extremely different weapons, and here is why:

    > The advantage of a staff over a main-hand only weapon is its length and the ability to 1) Hold it at the end, making it a spear-like weapon with further reach and 2) no sharp edges / blades, increasing its manoeuvrability and agility, as well as making complicated manoeuvres easier, as there is nothing you can cut yourself with, and hitting yourself in the side, which would be quite common due to the hind part most likely interfering with your manoeuvres, would not be lethal
    >However, when using a saberstaff, advantage 1) of a staff ( i.e. using it as a spear, doubling its length) is completely gone, as you cannot hold it at its end without burning your hands off.
    >Advantage 2) ( i.e. easier manoeuvrability due to no blades and therefore no risk of cutting yourself) also ceases to exist when using a saberstaff, as you can strike in less areas due to the fact that you have another blade dangling from the back, so if you try anything that results in you holding the blade perpendicular to your front ( e.g. striking downwards ), you will end up stabbing yourself. You also have to hold the blade to your side so that you have the secondary blade a safe distance from your own body.

She'll probably use Anakin's lightsaber for most if not all of the movie. Hopefully by IX she'll get her own unique one like a double bladed one based on her staff. And it sucks that we won't know what her own lightsaber looks like for another three years but imagine the feels when we've been waiting so long for a trailer for episode ix and we finally get one and the last scene of it is Rey igniting her new lightsaber. I think that would be pretty epic. Just like how it would be awesome if the first trailer/teaser for TLJ ends with Luke igniting his.

haha you are waaayyyyy over thinking this. Sure she'll prob use Anakin's saber at first, but why would any one NOT want to see a Jedi construct their own saber? It's part of the training and the lightsaber weapon(and crystal) is a very personal possession. Having the option of a double bladed saber would only work to Rey's advantage. She wouldn't necessarily have to use both blades in every fight, but this is setting up to be a single Jedi versus many enemies (Knight's of Ren, Kylo, Snoke, first order, etc.) Part of the reason Darth Maul had the option was to fight multiple Jedi at a time. Maul only used both ends when necessary ( which fighting two Jedi it was).

I would have to go back a reread his post but I believe he was arguing against turning the staff into a double bladed lightsaber not necessarily a traditional double bladed saber. Maul has already shown that to work but making her staff into a saber would be inefficient
