Well, it happened fast. She saw the academy, the dead bodies, her parents, and what more ?

How did you get that scene ?

Well, not exactly, she saw her fleeing as a child. And a female voice yelling her name.

The fact that all we get of her parents is a FEMALE voice is another thing pointing towards Rey Skywalker, imo. They don't want to cast her mom yet so they're not willing to show an actual actress in the role (similar to Antman's original Wasp), yet people know Luke's voice so if they have that in there it's too obvious of a giveaway.

If she was just a random person, they could just show her parents since they wouldn't be familiar to the audience at all, kinda like how in HP we see flashbacks of his parents.

It went indeed fast. A quick image of the Knights of Ren in the rain (from the trailers) and Luke and R2D2 at the campfire (also from the trailers).

So fast infact that there was more of the Knights of Ren in the trailers than there was in the movie.

The way I see it is that she has a vision of the past (Rey as child on Jakku seeing a space ship taking off and screaming 'No'), the present (or near future) (Rey running through Kylo's ship and snow forest) and the future if she fails (KoR in the rain slaughtering with (adult) Kylo holding Luke's saber).

Everything surrounding Anakin's lightsaber was confusing me
    • How could there possibly be a vision of Luke (with his bionic hand) patting Artoo when that very same lightsaber got lost along with Luke's real hand? The person then patting Artoo must have been Anakin
    • What's the importance of Anakin's lightsaber in the context of the story? Certainly he kept the one he made himself or was that a gesture telling Luke "I want to be trained"?

I don't think it's important that it was Anakin's lighsaber, it was also Luke's. The lighsaber is only important as Rey's connection to the Force - her first one. It's not the lightsaber that shows her the vision - it's the Force. It's past, it's the future, the possibilities.I think the final scene means many things: Here I am. Teach me. Come back to the galaxy. We need you. And so on...

I think it was important for one reason: This lightsaber, once wielded by both Anakin and Luke Skywalker, disappeared in The Empire Strikes Back. We never hear mention of it again, but for some reason, it has been brought back from the depths of Cloud City to be featured in The Force Awakens. There is significance in the fact that lightsaber is a relic of the Skywalker family.

We can speculate on it for 2 years. That's a good thing. We don't want everything spoon fed to us. It would be like having a narrator talking through the end scene of 2001: A Space Odyssey.

I don't know what all the elements of the vision were about. The most important thing was her being abandoned on Jakku by an unidentified person.

She's obviously a Skywalker and will use her father's and grandfather's first lightsaber as her first lightsaber.

My theory is that Luke may have used the force to temporarily erase or lock Rey's memory about him being her father when she was young in order to protect her, knowing that when the time was right she would find her way back to him. I think the lightsaber served as the "key" to unlock her memory. She only touched it for an instant when she had the flasback, and then I think during the fight with Kylo she learned the truth about Luke being her father and the rest of her childhood memories. I think Luke felt this, and somehow reactivated R2 to lead Rey to him. Also, that embrace she had with Leia when Rey got back seemed to me to be a "I'm sorry about Han" but also maybe "I know you are my aunt" moment as they both seemed to have a look of sadness mixed with realization on their faces.

It's been acknowledged by someone on these forums just from the trailers that the Rebel Helmet she puts on on Jakku spells "Raeh" in aurebesh. Furthermore, she likely gets the name Rey from Raeh indicating she is no different than Finn in her identity.

Has someone heard more from the things said during the vision?
I definitely heard old Obi-Wan teaching Luke, but the rest there was too much going on

In the German dub (the only one I've seen so far) it is fairly obvious that the person standing next to young Rey and trying to calm her is Han...

I've only seen it once and if I am honest it completely confused me. The only thing I did get was that she's clearly a Skywalker, which was rubber stamped by the fact that it came to her rather than Kylo Ren at the end.
