SPECULATION Romance - who falls for who in VIII?

It felt like they had more of a familial connection between the two of them .

 

I see what you're saying... I took the forehead kiss as a "friend-zone" kiss. Ha! We shall see...

It did feel a bit platonic throughout. Finn gave more direct effort in terms of flirtation and interest - "You gotta boyfriend?!" "Yeah, I'm in the Resistance...!" Rey didn't seem to be chomping at the bit, but who knows.

Finn/Rey seems more likely than Poe/Rey. Maybe it will be no one in particular/Rey for VII.

 

I think that bit was said just for sh##s and giggles for the audience...I think that there will be no time for romance in this trilogy with the NEW-MAIN-THREE...if anything, Por would initiate something...

Also, I ised to kiss my girlfriend good night on her forehead...but then on her lips as well and would also give her bunny kisses but THE POINT is that forehead kisses can go either way .

 

As has been explained before, the fact that she considers him a friend now, two days after meeting him for the first time, doesn't preclude something more developing in the future. As has ALSO been pointed out before, Han and Leia couldn't stand each other when they first met, and yeah.

Do some people just not know how romance tends to work or something? Because it sure seems like it.

Maybe after watching TFA more, I'll lean more the Finn/Rey blossoming romance route.Good thoughts, all!

I'm not sure if it's the fact that people have gotten use to the overt romance that we see in sagas like twilight and hunger games or what. Seems like many are latching on to some subtleties while dismissing others

 

I thought Rey and Poe but they had no interaction in TFA. They would have to have alot of scenes together in Episode 8 which I dont think will be the case. Theres also a rumor that the love interest for Finn has been cut, now that they're shrinking roles of new characters in favor of focusing on the new characters they've established. So who knows

 

In the book she meets poe for a second during the celebration. They really won't have many scenes together. Putting finn in a coma is a device writers use to separate two characters that other wise would never separate.

Odds are great they will see each other again but not till like an hour and 30 minutes into the next movie. It's a great way to force them to go on their own journeys.

Will be interesting to see if her path is trying and build a saber while his is learning to fly and fight with poe'since unit

 

It would be nice to see Finn and Rey to get together....
Poe should already be married or has a long term girlfriend. That would be very natural.

 

Maybe she would be one of the newer leads ...

 

I'm betting on a Poe-Rey-Finn love triangle. At the end of the novelization it is told that Rey likes Poe's face (that she have just met!) so...

 

I hope it's Rey and Poe. In the TFA I thought BB-8 was going to bring them together. Both are great pilots, so to me it makes sense. I hope they have way more screen time together in VIII.

 

I am leaning more to Rey and Poe because of their interactions with BB-8, even though not together to interact with BB-8 because I honestly wish there was a scene that showed them meeting for the first time. Hopefully over the course of the next two episodes, there will be plenty of time to cover that. I think there should be subtle hints here and there in VIII where Rey grows particularly fond of Poe and knowing how much they have in common, I don't see why there can't be any scenes between them throughout VIII and the next one. And then by the third movie, perhaps have Rey and Poe gradually falling for each other after realizing that they have grown more closer to each other than ever. Or something like that...but I'd rather they take their time, not rush it. Make up for the lack of interaction between them that wasn't there in TFA.

But you know, at this point....it could be any male character who could fall so hard for Rey...and who knows. But I hope for some Rey and Poe - fingers crossed.

 

If they wanted to pair Rey and Poe up, then they'd have given them even ONE scene together in the movie before she flies off on her own to meet Luke (and not cut the one scene that they did have in the novelization).

As opposed to say, Finn, who's growing affection for Rey and vice versa is one of the biggest parts of the movie, if not THE biggest.

Yeah it's almost like they've only known each other for like two days or something. Subtlety and all that/ Oh and I DEFINATELY got those vibes on his end at least, to be sure.

 

i don't really care who gets with who as long as it happens organically and doesn't stall out the plot or devolve into mush.

and if nobody gets with anybody, i'm fine with that too.
