My question is if he runs a unit of chrome troopers why is he a rebel pilot in this pic?

The answer is logical: It's either Adam Driver or NOT Adam Driver.

When I saw Isaac as a pilot in the trailer (which makes Driver as a pilot redundant), and learned that Boyega's stunt dbl is also named Adam, it called into question those photos from what could have been a sure thing based what the set spies said that they heard.

 

Or the hardliner group of rebels who is building a Death Star also have chrome troopers. So Kylo Ren might be a Dark Sider on the Rebel side.

 

To tell you the truth, I don't think that picture is anywhere near clear enough for anyone to be able to tell whether or not that's really Driver.

 

It is entirely logical that the rebels would try and build their own Death Star.

If you take real world events as inspiration then the Empire and the Republic/Rebels could be seen as the Soviet Union vs The United States.

The Death Star is basically a nuclear weapon. Once the technology exists it starts an arms race so that the other side has an equaliser. They make great deterrents against all out war and prompt rival sides to engage in war by proxy rather than a head to head confrontation.

We may see something similar in this new trilogy.

It looks just like him. Its not that redundant to have Poe and Adam be pilots. Its actually more realistic if there's more than one character in an occupation. How many Jedi were there in the prequels? It would be cool if the characters start as friendly hot shot rivals , gives some humanity.

This is nonsense. Apart from anything else it's an insult to Carrie and the OT cast: Sorry Carrie, you're just so old that we're going to pull a time-travel/parallel dimension plot so your younger, more attractive daughter can re-play the role you made famous, ok?

If time-travel was so intrinsic to the plot Billie being on-board wouldn't just be a nicety it would've been essential to the future of the ST and the name would refer to it somehow -- Episode VII: The Force Rewinds.

Oh sorry my fault, according to Hollywood it's Blockbuster material, the plot reminds me of the upcoming Terminator 5 Genisys.
By the way I don't like the idea about a super weapon, this thing is stale and exhausted.
I really liked "Pobody's Nerfect" post about saving Luke, because he's worth.
Why not scale some things down, the Star Wars Universe is huge, small problems with meaningful decisions would shine in a interessting light then,
George Lucas wanted something like that for ST or not? to show the grey area not only black and white and mix it up or upside down, moral dilemma, important decisions.
Maybe some parts of the Rebel Alliance will be the evil, and parts of the fallen Empire be friendly, new allies and enemys on different sites, who knows.

It seems that you want the same old stuff over and over again, my advice just watch the OT and PT then.

 

Don't put stock in it. It's just a comment on a fan site. The movie is going to be awesome. I think we're all taking Disney, JJ, Kennedy, and Kasden for fools who don't know what the best thing for the franchise is. That would certainly alienate fans. It would alienate me and it takes a lot to do that so there's no way they would. This movie is going to be awesome and it won't have any of that crap in it. Star Trek wasn't even that bad for diehards. I would say this is worst case scenario but i don't even think it is one.

Time-travel and parallel dimensions just aren't SW: the movies are already set 'a long time ago' and 'in a galaxy far, far away' -- why on Earth would it be necessary to further mess with time and space, lol!!!

Agreed. While reading that guy's post I thought This wouldn't even fly on Doctor Who, let alone Star Wars.

just to clarify...this isnt my theory, i just found it and i had no clue about startrek plots, so im sorry if this felt like trolling...i dont like this plot either and find it dumb...
