SPOILER Snow Planet and Super Weapons

Younger forum members may not remember but ABC's BattleStar Gallitica had a great 2 part episode that took place on a "snow planet".
The Cylon bad guys set up a huge cannon/WMD and a small group of clones/human life-forms aided the Colonial Warriors in a daring commando type raid to destroy it.

Let's all hope, TFA and JJ-Kasdan don't completely rip off the plot/storyline to this 1970s era sci-fi classic.

 

Sullust is where my money is.

New canon, new rules... don't think of it as Mustafar volcanic... you can have glacial volcanoes

Watch the battlefront trailer... at the end, you will see a snow planet with lava streams...

 

It is entierly possible that the cold world is an entierly new planet, just like the desert world isn't Tatooine but this new place, Jakku.

As for the super weapon, I really hope it isn't a 'force weapon', which some have suggested. IMHO, Star Wars doesn't need more force stuff, but rather some tangible problems and plots, and I hope they don't center TFA around some magical supergun or similar. Imagine if the Death Star had been firing force lightning instead of super-blaster beams (whatever they are)... I for one would not have cared for that. Of course, force weilders will insert themselves into the story, but I hope the main plot is not about disarming a force bomb or whatever.

The Death Stars used Kyber Crystals.

The Clone Wars had some "lost" episodes released last year dealing with Kyber Crystals.

It's true. I've seen Pablo Hidalgo talk about it. That's why SW:Rebels had that episode about stopping a Kyber Crystal shipment and I think they're mentioned in the Tarkin novel.

You gotta remember, I am old school... back in the day, there was only one Kyber crystal, and it was special... Splinter of the Mind's Eye... pre ESB days...it was absolute canon at the time, but all that changed... I wasn't calling you out on this, honestly... and after I read your post, I went and saw where all that came in, but I had just honestly never heard that before.

 

I quite like the idea that the DSs, built under Sideous's reign, used reclaimed ancient Sith technology. That's a kinda cool angle. But what happened to the Crystals in the DS (were they destroyed?) and what would that mean for the Force, if anything?....

 

I know I'm responding to an old post but I just thought I'd point out that there is no snow on Sullust in that video...
It looks like snow from inside the hangar, but once the camera follows the TIE fighter outside, you can see that it's all just shiny volcanic rock with steam coming off it.

Starkiller is not on Sullust. If the new Databank entry is any indication, the entire planet itself is actually referred to as Starkiller.

 

So we already know all the planet names then...

1. Jakku
2. Takodona
3. The Starkiller Base

And then of course the rumored planet that Luke is hiding on...

 

Pretty sure Ward had this. A planet converted into a weapon.
