Well said, I could not have said it better myself... may the force be with you always @NinjaRen :p

As a huge comic book fan, I'm in my LCS every Wednesday, I cherish my DCU Infinite & Marvel Unlimited subscriptions, I self-published 2 comic books; anyWho, TBOBF somehow reminds me of Robert E. Howard's King Conan. Before Conan became king, he was a melee and weapon master, sword for hire, outlaw, thief, pirate, mercenary and a commander of a mercenary company. Toward the end of his illustrious career, at the age of 40 he decides to become king. Strangles the king with his bare hands on the steps of the throne. What does a sword for hire know about being a King? What does a bounty hunter know about being a crime lord? We shall see! Seven days seem so far away now...

Yeah, I think it's tough for people to wrap their head around icon of toxic masculinity Fett (content warning for
    Fett killing a pregnant woman
    in that link, btw)
and this wiser Fett... especially when the flashback scenes don't happen that much later.

    Here we go again,

Couldn’t have said it any better my friend. The path these writers have set up for this series is phenomenal. I already have a connection with the Tusken Raiders and view them differently from past opinions. The story itself is fresh, but at the same time familiar which I enjoyed.

The flashbacks in the bacta’ we’re amazing callbacks to nostalgia in my opinion. Most in the universe know Boba Fett as the greatest bounty hunter, so I’d be interesting to see why the mayor, the hurts, and everyone else believes he isn’t a challenge.

Oh, I know a thing or two about writing character arcs, not to mention exaggeration for argument's sake and other forms of rhetoric. And, strangely enough, about thinking. I also know what I like and don't like, and how to express mixed and nuanced opinions.

It was cool seeing that Black Wookie from the comics. Black Cassandra or sommet like that?

Not very impressed with the show so far though.

Cool! Good catch. Didn't remember that illustration.
Wouldn't mind to see a McQuarrie reference in every SW project.

    Not this one right?
    Seems cool and intriguing though.

I’m kind of speechless. Two episodes in and I just think this show is terrible. If it wasn’t Star Wars there’s no way I’d stick with this. Silly and trite story lines….Dances with Wolves, er, I mean Tuskens. Sub-par special effects continue.

Worst of all there is no real plot…it’s just background exposition. What is the conflict here and why are we supposed to care? This show is just “look it’s Boba Fett and you LOVE him because he’s cool.” I don’t see any reason to be invested in any of the characters so far. A real bummer for me.

Wordslinging is under appreciated. Never stop.
That was a much more entertaining episode. An old Black Krrsantan was very cool. And hells yes, bring on the Hutts and their kajidics. The only thing I didn’t get is why the mayor told Fett to go the cantina only to have Flashdance tell him some information that he immediately knew himself a second later after hearing the drums? I may have missed something there….
I enjoyed the flash-bacta, it was informative, action filled, and Boba Fett was tripping on lizards. Who thought they would ever type that line?
The Tosche Station cut scene is reborn. Filoni and Favereau are geniuses.
Good old fashioned train heist, very good stuff. And Boba didn’t end up in a trunk this time: upload_2022-1-5_21-32-33.jpeg

I respect your opinion and the fact that your honest even if it goes against the grain.
Like yourself I have complaints, however I'm decidedly detached to avoid agony while at the same time enjoying certain elements/tidbits that seem to pop up here and there. Black Krrsantan being one. The coolest looking live action character since Phasma and TKOR. That wookie is scary looking and the look in his eyes tells me he ain't scared and he ain't playing games. I LOVE that whole vibe. Star wars at it's best. Hopefully he won't be a missed opportunity like they were.

Not sure what Fett's motive is for wanting to rule in Jabba's place. Hopefully it will be explained and not left hanging like so many unexplained plot points of the ST. That can be very frustrating to say the least.

Crazy you just mentioned that. I just left this.....#greattrainrobbery in the Mod convo a few minutes ago lol. I actually enjoyed that sequence. It was fun and people/characters on both side we're dying left and right adding a sense of real danger.
I also thought him fashioning his weapon was cool and presented a poetic parallel to jedi fashioning their lightsabers.
Finding the branch for his weapon from a vision caused by a brain lizard was pretty cool and creative.

Ooh, extra-long episode today. Regardless, it's always nice to get new Star Wars content after a break.

There is something suspicious about that mayor. It wouldn't surprise me if he's still involved with the plot to take down Boba somehow, or otherwise has ulterior motives.

The flashback portion didn't bother me. At first it seemed to be taking away from the plot from the Twins which I am more interested in, but then I found myself getting invested in Boba's history with the Tusken tribe too. Although I notice in the present-day scenes, the tribe are nowhere to be seen. Did Boba part from them amicably once he saw Din take off with his armour, and he decided he had other business to attend to from then on? Or did something bad happen to the tribe at some point and that's why Boba is no longer with them?

I loved Boba's reaction when he opens the casket and sees the lizard. You can tell he's like, "Oooo-kay...?", but is trying to act gracious and polite about it.

My favourite part of the episode comes just after that, with his trippy, surreal journey through the desert. And then when they're putting the black garb on him and there's that awesome chanting music. It's something about those scenes that really shows off how magical Star Wars can be.

So far it feels like a cash grab.

Good point. I was wondering the same.

Exactly what I was thinking. It's so obvious what they were trying to do with those Tuskens, but dances with wolves was an intelligent movie. Boba Fett is a hard watch for me, because it's quite repellent to see the romanticism that is presented to us.

If you have watched the first two episodes and genuinely don't like it then I suggest the show isn't for you. There's nothing wrong with not liking it or even not watching. I had said last week that the flashback was the weakest part of the episode. That flipped this week because the flashback was essential to develop where Boba Fett is right now.

If Fett is simply another ass kicking bounty hunter in Mandalorian armor there would be no point in having this series. The plot is Boba becoming a crime lord. In the past he's been a man without a family. There's no way he can become a crime lord on his own. He needs a family of his own to be able to accomplish something that big. The flashback are essential in understanding how he's going to become that crime lord.

Just because a person doesn't like the story doesn't mean it's a cash grab or fan fiction. There's no reason to denigrate something people like simply because it doesn't work for you.
