So will there simply be a flashback in Mandolorian S3 where Grogu chooses Din and Luke is like "alright, take him to daddy R2" or will he appear to give Din some advice and say his final goodbyes to Grogu?

My gut tells me that with fanboys like Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni in charge —and with increasingly amazing deep-fake technology at their disposal — we have not seen the last of Luke Skywalker in The Mandalorian or the Ahsoka series. Also, some time in the Favroni Universe, I predict we’ll get the long awaited on-screen reunion between Luke, Han, and Leia. :)

Pretty disappointing. Mishmash of action with absolutely zero focus on any character, in fact: Much of this reversed everything done well with S1 of the Mandalorian.

I would agree that the episode had some pacing problems (which seems to have been a recurring theme in the Robert Rodriguez-directed episodes. But IMHO, there was A LOT to love in this episode. And the good stuff gets even better on repeat viewings. :)

On the one hand... "pacing issues"...

On the other... freakin' this ...

Don't get me wrong, I have my complaints... but let's not overlook what we did get in the hurry to explain why it didn't meet our expectations.

Have to agree that while I've enjoyed the show, I am kinda done with Tatooine for a while... which is ironic given the next GFFA outing on D+ is likely to feature it a lot! I'm keen to see more of Vanth too. It's odd as after he surrendered the armour he's essentially just a Western style marshal with nothing to really make him distinct... and yet Oliphant's performance has really left me wanting more. I'd hoped his character could be the one to revive the Rangers show...

...until I read this. Had no idea that he'd turned it down. Gutted :(

Couple of things here... There hasn't been anything official said by Lucasfilm about Rangers right? Either way Timothy never turned down anything (officially). He's coming back for one special series of Justified, but it's unlikely that would get in the way of any Star Wars project that's likely at least a year from being filmed. They're obviously brining him back for something after the tease at the end.

Nope, it was officially cancelled by Lucasfilms shortly after the interwebs were hit by rumors the show was coming back off the shelf with Oliphant as its new star.

As you mentioned, there was never any official word other than the Rangers show was cancelled. However, it wasn’t long afterwards that Oliphant’s new show was announced.

The last I heard was late November from Kennedy's interview with Empire.
Was there something official released that I don't remember after that? Also, the first word about Justified returning came 1st quarter 2021 and the official announcement came a few weeks ago. I don't really see any connection between Justified and the Rangers show.

I feel bad that even though I like Boba Fett and always have through different things, his own show left me more interested in other characters such as Fennec, Black Krrsantan, The Armorer, Cobb Vanth and of course Din, Grogu, Luke, Ahsoka and Cad Bane.

I enjoyed what they did with Boba and the Tuskens but everything else just made me extra hype for other upcoming shows like Obi-Wan, The Mandalorian Season 3 and Ahsoka!

Don't know if it's just the character or who to blame but while the show could have been much better, I think it shows Boba is fitted more as a badass in action scenes than having his own show and story.

I know they have to have multiple directors and writers. And I know they are basically having to write the equivalent of about 3 movies for once season. But the entire series was so disjointed. Will probably watch episodes 5 and 6 many times, but the rest I was not able to get emotionally invested in.

Cad Bane is a great charcter, and of course in Star Wars no one dies. So it will be great to see him again in the future.

Episode 6 was so beautifully shot and awesome. I would probably pay to go see it at a theater. Episode 7...well, it was fun, but parts of it feel like Star Trek: The Next Generation. Some of that is probably directing. So many characters just standing around, you don't feel they are actuallly being threatened.

This will probably be blasfemy in this chat...but I think the series needed about 10% helmet-less Boba/90% helmeted. The actor seems like a pleasant chum, but I don't think he can carry an entire show. Some (most) of the dialogue between him and Fennec would send me curled up into a ball with Padme/Anakin flashbacks. I know "tail head" jester guy is a good actor, but most of his scenes just throw me out of the Star Wars world. ..

Special effects have been awesome for the most part, but stylistically....lord, I wish they could bring on George Lucas to head costume design and creature creation.

I do think, and trust, that those in charge are analyzing these things much more closely that we are - and the product will continuously get better (as long as they keep getting the budgets they need).

For the record, the only other non-Star Wars shows I have actively watched in the last 10 years are Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. Better Call Saul is now nearly 2 years between seasons at this point, so I do appreciate the fact we are getting much more Star Wars content now. It is paintful to wait two years and still not have a release date. BCS also has the issue to some extent with the good director/bad director episodes.

Thanks for the clarification. Now I see it was "they gunned him down in cold blood".
The subtitiles in my language confused me with the word killing. Subtitles said "they killed him in cold blood". Very bad subtitles in this point then. They used the wrong word.

I think am late to the party but LOL Favroni hahaha

    Without a doubt. I agree.

I thought Boba Fett was ok until this episode, not good but not bad either. This episode was terribly bad though, absolutely nothing made any kind of sense, it reminded me of the battle of winterfel, all characters seemed completely stupid...

The last three episodes of the show are the ones I'll rewatch the most over time and especially episodes 5 and 6!

5-7 are essential Mandalorian episodes with 5 and 6 being for story and 7 for Din action
    --- Double Post Merged, Feb 9, 2022, Original Post Date: Feb 9, 2022 ---
The finale is great to me in terms of action! I don't have any complaints there and Din being reunited with Grogu but story was meh and now Boba completely rules yet he suddenly isn't feeling it and is not sure where to go from here and truly needs Fennec to be his voice of reason.

I would of course check out a BOBF season 2 but I much prefer he just guest stars on The Mandalorian at times from now on

    I liked it. Voted Good.

Everyone has said pretty much what I have felt. I thought this was Mando 2.5 as well. I also think Temeura Morrison is a pretty bad actor.
Krrsantan healed really fast a couple of different times. No need for the Bacta tank that Boba promised.

If you listen carefully, when Grogu looks up at Mando for the first time, you can hear him say “Mando”.

I understand that a lot of TBoBF made no sense, and maybe trying to apply logic to the story is fools errand - but I really want to know:

What were the Pikes even doing on Tatooine? Near as I could tell, all they were doing was importing the spice from Kessel and then running it across the desert on a train for absolutely no reason.

There's only two big cities on Tatooine, and both have space ports with zero oversight. They dont mine the spice on Tatooine. The planet's population isn't large enough to make it a critical selling location. There is absolutely no reason for Tatooine to be important to them.

And for that matter, what sort of crime is it that Boba Fett wants to be in charge of? He doesn't want any part of the drug trade. He's not hiring any smugglers. By all appearances, he wants to run a private police force for Mos Espa.

    Sigh.
