With exception of the Mandolorian parts, you can toss this to the scrap heap. Seeing Cad Bane was cool but…

OK folks, I have just finished reading this entire thread....saw the episode finally, today.

Someone on here said "I fear that F/F captured lightning in a bottle for The Mandalorian"....exactly my thoughts after TBOBF.

I base how good something is on the re-watchability of it.

Ep 1-4 I have seen once, and have no desire to see again.

Ep 5-7 I have seen, several scenes in all of them, more than once.

The score of this series, the Boba Fett portions of it, are uninspired IMO and I have no desire to listen to again.

The score of The Mandalorian is incredible, epic, and I have listened to many many times.

Someone else has said "I am Tatooine-ed out". I am too. Yet Kenobi looms on the dusty horizon....

It was almost a disservice to such a iconic character to just have him stuck in this one little town. And I think "uninspired" is a good word. It seems as though the music, costumes, story...most everything was just thrown together. As nothing really had to do with Jabba's palace, they could have just had the first episode showng the escape from the pit and working with the sandpeople...and then gone elsewhere from there. I think it is sort of a stretch that Boba Fett would change his personality that much. And honestly....not seek revenge on Han or the others that knocked him in the pit?

I’ve seen this complaint. And while I don’t share it, I do get where it’s coming from. For Luke, in the Campbellian tradition, Tatooine represents the β€˜normal world’ our hero must leave in order to have his life altering experience.

It’s like Dorothy having to leave Kansas to go have her adventures in the Land of Oz. If a handful of Wizard of Oz spinoffs were announced and half of them took place in Kansas, that would be pretty weird. It’s not that you couldn’t tell plenty of engrossing and engaging stories set in the county surrounding Dorothy’s farm - exploring the locals and their customs and dramas therein, but what most of the audience is probably wanting is to get to Oz. That’s where all the fun and games are.

That’s not exactly what we’re getting here, but I see how that’s the way it might appear: It’s called β€œStar Wars”. Can we maybe go visit the stars please?

@eeprom You are spot on. I have re-read my post above and I guess I come off pretty negative. Which I am sorry about because I love SW, this was the first SW production that I did not connect with,

Your comments about Tatooine get me thinking about another SW product, R1, and how cool I still think that movie is. With new planets galore, the ring of Kafrene especially I liked. Exploring the GFFA…..I am so looking forward to Andor. I love the spy/special forces type story and I am really looking forward to how they handle it in Andor….

I have listened to the score on Spotify, and must say that it is actually pretty good.

Just one funny thing, I am fan of DC Comics and Batman comic books (as millions of people are), and while the movies mostly suck, I love some of their animated feature.
I must say that the main theme of Son Of Batman reminds me of the chase soundtrack a lot, talking about the main motif!
Not a bad track in intself, might fit a fast chase scene like the one in Solo for example, but with the actual sluggish footage, well.
    But here the comparison (r2-d2)

So yeah, quite uninspiring in parts, but I have liked the train heist track and the main theme from Ludwig Goransson is brilliant as well as his themes for Boba transfered from Mandalorian.

It’s basically the Han Solo arc. Guy starts out as a self-involved loner and ends up as a community minded leader. Could have been done better, but the idea is pretty bulletproof.
The pitch this series was trying to sell us on was that Boba doesn’t blame Han. He blames the system. He allowed himself to be used as a tool for greedy tyrants that didn’t care if he lived or died. That’s what put him in the pit more than some blind schmuck who got lucky while trying to save himself from being executed. Makes sense to me there’d be no hard feelings.

I cringed at Rancor Kong but am ok with that for kids sake and like the Rankor overall.
Black Krrsantan Should be bad guy and stay that way.

Flash backs were not needed, just tell the story. With ST, it’s all flashback. Why only 7 shows? I miss 24 episode seasons…

Funnily enough, the only parts of the score I’ve cared enough to back and listen to, besides the main title theme, is the soundtrack from The Mandalorian-centric episodes lol. They used a lot of motifs from the last two seasons in really cool ways and overall, those two episodes had the catchy quality that the other ones lacked.

There is no way that Lucasfilm would ever do a season that long with how much these series cost. Hell, I think the days of seasons for the animated shows going past 20 are gone too.

    #MY THOUGHTS
    ―――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
    Here we go,

Hate to feel as if I'm on the negative side. I'm very, very late and just finished the season finale last nigDespite what you might think below overall I enjoyed this series start-to-finish. I will begin with the bad.

    > The Bad:

Overall... the series was decent at best. The directors made a lot of horrendous choices on the dialogue scripts for this episode. Was there any tension coming into the episode? No, not for one single minute. This was supposed to be a WAR between two of the largest factions on Mos Espa! I'm sorry to hurt anyone's adulation toward the finale but this was an elementary school playground fight.

Let's talk about the main characters. Firstly, Mando and Boba's beskar armor could hold off an entire army, but Cad Bane one-shots Boba?
The dreadful plot armor... the Scorpenek Annihilator droids couldn't aim correctly(they felt like big human-sized snails, but other instances showed them having the insane speed of lighting?), Black Krrrsantan was eaten up by blaster fire but shortly after was seen perfectly fine with none of the wounds he had prior? This episode was just all over the place!

    > The Good:

The only bright spots this episode had was, Grogu, Mando & Fennec Shand. For the most part only just Fennec Shand. I love the way she wants to deal things. I felt so happy seeing her show no mercy at the end of the show itt was the cherry on the top for the mess this episode was. Of course I loved Grogu he has already become a legend amoung star wars itself.

I enjoyed that last episode of the season very much. I found it deliciously chaotic. It was good to have the story re-focus on Boba again. And Cad Bane's death or near death was very satisfying, due to my dislike of him. He was too much of villainous Gary Stu for my taste.

Thanks for introducing me to the term β€œGary Stu” lol.

I think I disagree, because Cad Bane has earned his menace from so many previous Canon appearances. That said, for people who never saw the animated shows, it probably was like β€œWhere did this OP villain come from all of a sudden ???”

I think, though, that Bane was necessary for the series, because the Pykes just aren’t scary. If I could change things around, I would have introduced Bane earlier in the show, and given fans more time to get to know him, while also raising the threat level sooner in the series.

Would have been nice to build that history up between him and Boba more before the confrontation rather than some brief suggestive lines in the moment.

I agree with all of your points, Jaxxon. But, like it or not, the Boba Fett-Cad Bane final showdown was inevitable given Bane's age and the poetic beauty of Fett being "out-gunned" but still winning the day with his gaffi stick.

I liked that the duel was reduced to its elements Fett and Bane were literally transposable with Harmonica and Frank in Once Upon A Time In The West (apart from the costumes, well, Fett's costume at least). The dialogue could be used in an actual western and you wouldn't notice. The climax of Solo was like this too. I fact I think the bit with the dying character insisting that he would have learned to play that instrument was a "homage" to a scene from an old western.

@DeeRush, as much as I'd like to agree with you I respectfully cannot. The last episode felt... off. I enjoyed many scenes, but some in particular such as the Boba Fett versus Cad Bane section could've been executed much, much better. The script for Episode 7 was cringe-worthy at best. (https://tvshowtranscripts.ourboard.org/viewtopic.php?f=1171&t=51075)

    #Freetown People.

We had the so-called 'citizens' of Freetown oppose the Pyke syndicate and live to tell the tale? No, didn't fit me right. They showed up at a time that was very crucial in the episode, yes but didn't look worried about death for one second. I was looking forward to seeing some of the side characters die to show the audience how serious this conflict between the two of the largest factions of Mos Espa was. This entire last episode of theatrics looked sloppily made as if it was a child leveled script play. Let us not forget that Cad Bane didn't kill Cob Vanth, I'm not sure how he didn't, but okay...
    ―――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
    #The Pyke Syndicate

Let us also talk about the Pyke syndicate! They could have actually been such a formidable opponent. I began realizing though that they'd be nothing more than cannon fodder for the 'heroes'. Similar to the stormtroopers they never appeared to ever be a threat throughout the Book. Chapter two showed us how good of an opponent they can be being able to take out multiple Tusken Raiders trained by the best bounty hunter in the world Boba Fett. Moving on to different episodes until the finale I was highly disappointed in them.
    ―――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
    #Black Krrsantan

Black Krrsantan is a Wookiee gladiator! In my opinion, they did his character no justice. The actual fight scene while Fett was healing in Bacta was lacking so much. Looked like bad WWE. What a shame. Episode 4 shows Black Krrsantan has real conflict within himself. I loved seeing him express that conflict by ripping off the arm of a Trandoshan poker player. He remembers that their kind enslaves his along with hunting them for sport. He has flashbacks watching them enjoy themselves.
    ―――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
    #Fennec Shand

Fennec Shand is easily one of the best things to come out of recent Star Wars lore. Her real gift is in being an expert sniper. Her marksmanship skills are something to die for (pun intended). Seldom do we see Fennec Shand miss her target? She almost never misses. She wants to run things her own way and I see why she is so successful, quick approach, ruthless, timid in dangerous situations, trustworthy. She's just the Boba Fett that we needed in this show, not to mention his actor is old I don't want to see his ugly face on camera keep his helmet on. It's like every episode they must show his face it's something Hollywood does for whatever reason. I remember watching suicide squad they kept showing Deadshot's face after he put his mask on.

Characters running around in circles fighting the big Scorpenek annihilator droids it made these things a nonessential threat. You have a biker gang, as well as Krrsantan running in a straight line throughout the city of Mos Espa in the perfect sights of these droids? How are they not able to kill most of the characters! It's said that just one was capable of taking out entire platoons of clone troopers. Clones that were trained from birth via the DNA of Jango Fett who trained Cad Bane... Just all over the place.
    Overall it was okay.

Please quote me on anything you disagree with.
